Lucha Underground Season 5

Ideas

Now, before I get to some ideas that I have for what could've and should've been season 5, I'll need to explain how I would've made sure I kept my guys, and gals, around and happy. Also, still send me ideas for stories guys. It'll be interesting to hear what you come up with.

Now, first, I would NOT try and lock people into contacts to where they couldn't work anywhere else. I would tell them as long as you fulfill your contractually obligated dates, whether MLW, Impact, ROH, indies, or upcoming AEW dates. You couldn't do it for WWE, because they won't allow you to work other dates. How Vince gets away with the independent contractors is beyond me. Overall, as long as you show up, do your job at the set of tapings I need you for, you can get work anywhere. Just let me know when it goes close to your taping schedule.

Second, I don't overdo it with episodes. One of the other reasons I thought hurt Lucha Underground was when season 3 did forty episodes, with a mid season finale in the middle. There were episodes that I thought you could have just cut entirely. You could've been okay with doing only 30 episodes. When the first season did thirty-nine episodes, it was okay. Cause it was your first season, and you wanted to really try and go all out to make it compelling to make the networks consider a second one. During season three, there were moments that I forgot when a match would take place. Hell, Ivelisse and Catrina announced their match for Ultima Lucha Tres on the season three premiere. And they didn't do anything throughout the whole season, until about an episode or two before Ultima Lucha Tres. So, when it happened, it didn't feel big league like it should've been. I mean, a special attraction with Catrina wrestling? That should've been a bigger deal. And it wasn't. And why it wasn't, was because of the ridiculous length of episodes in between. So, for me, I would probably have about 25-30 episodes for this whole season. That, to me, is the best length of episodes for a season of Lucha Underground.

Three, during the break after Ultima Lucha Cuatro, I would have a few live events and co-promotions(like what they did with Impact). I would hype up my new season during these shows, as I plan to make them happen. I would also do a few cinematographically typed videos on the YouTube page to keep fans up with the product. I would have a few of my wrestlers cut promos on future opponents for the season. Basically, I'd advertise what fans might be in for for season 5. I wouldn't want to make them watch just to see what happens.

So, now that I've gotten my rules out the way, I'm gonna give a few ideas out right now.

I would keep Antonio. Yes, I'd keep Dario coming back to life. But, I'd try to find someone who looks like Luis Fernandez-Gill to do Antonio. Cause, when they are out front of the audience, I'd have him play Dario. Cause, he is still a pretty young looking dude. Now, for backstage and cinematography stuff, I'd have him play both, cause it's not in front of the fans. For the audience, well, I would maybe have to do a story where Antonio lets himself go, or he does something to himself, after Matanza dies. He's disappointed that his "favorite" son dies.

I would have Vamp be a full fledged heel commentator. I never understood why they didn't do anything after his match with Pentagon after the first Ultima Lucha. So, now that Vamp is aligned with Hexagon Dark, I would not only have Vamp manage him during Hexagon's matches, but I would also have Vamp heel on the faces. He shits on them, criticizes them, calls out little things by them, basically what Jesse Ventura did during the 80's. And he would praise heels, but he would also call them out if they did something stupid. He wouldn't constantly kiss their asses(Michael Cole).

I would have The Rabbit Tribe join the Order. Cause it makes sense. Paul London did offer up Saltador and Mala Suerte to Matanza as sacrifices. And The White Rabbit is a bloodthirsty psycho, like how The Order is kinda being portrayed as.

I would bring in some talent from other companies. Especially Impact, since I'm in a working relationship with them. Now you all know what I said about them working for those other companies, so as long as they still do the tapings that I need from them. Now, who are some guys I'd bring in:

Madman Fulton from Impact Wrestling. I'd leave the Christ Brothers.

Rich Swann, also from Impact

James Storm, who I believe was working for the NWA at the time.

Josephus, also from NWA.

Aron Stevens(Come on, why wouldn't you?)

Kaleb Conely

Eddie Kingston

Homicide

So, those are just a few to name. I also made sure none of these guys were signed with WWE yet. Maybe, give me some names, and I'll consider it.

So, now that I have those ideas and what I would do with the contracts and the taping schedule, what about when I would start?

Well, for me, I'd start about when WrestleMania 35 was taking place. So, late March or early April.

So, now that I've gotten all of that done...let's begin.

Author's Note: So, yeah. Those are some ideas that I have. Let me know what you think, as well as send in some ideas too.
