Chapter 1

Even though the study cave was so dark that the other dragonets would complain, Cyan could see in the dark. She is a Seawing, after all.

She was sitting in a small hay nest reading a scroll. She was surrounded by bookshelves filled with many scrolls, and even a couple of books. The cave was decently sized, so there was space for max eleven dragons to stand in the cavern, wings stretched wide. There was a map of Phyrria and Pantala on the other side of the cavern, along with a few tables and chairs for classes.

There were torches in the study cave. They were just unlit now. She stopped staring at the cave around her and returned to reading her scroll. She was curious about the new disease that they would all face in a couple of years. She thumped her tail on the ground, causing a mini-earthquake.

She unrolled the scroll once more and continued reading from where she left off.

'RED (Radiation Expedited Disease) was discovered by a Scientist, the creator's name unknown. After an accident happened in their labs, this terrifying disease was unleashed and quickly spread, taking entire towns within days.

The dragons infected with this disease slowly lose their minds and spiral out of control, with their common and end goal to infect all the dragons of both Phyrrhia and Pantala. In the end, RED takes full control over the host's mind, allowing the body to morph in graphic and horrifying ways.

Evolved are nicknames for dragons who are infected with RED.

Infection

Airborne spores from a Bio-Horde or a corpse of a RED-4+ Evolved are the most common way dragons get infected. It can take as long as weeks to milliseconds for a dragon to be infected, depending on how close they are to a Bio-Horde or how long they have been in contact with an Evolved. It can take as long as seconds to get infected if you are close to the original labs where RED got released.

Spores from RED have the disturbing capability to 'infect' food for up to years; this can also include the blood from Evolved getting into the water. Evolved blood is different colours depending on the host; most of the time it is a dull crimson red, but for an Icewing host it is a dull brilliant blue. As soon as the blood of an Evolved enters the water, it goes colourless, giving it an even higher chance of a dragon drinking the infected water.

Additional Details

As the name states, the disease accelerates from radiation. The radiation from a Bio-Horde allows a RED-6 to go to RED-9 in a minimum of five days.

There is currently no way to cure a dragon infected with any level of RED.'

Cyan frowned more and more as she read the scroll. This disease was a powerful one, with infectivity and severity rates off the chart.

She decided she had read enough of the scroll for now, and got up from her hay nest and proceeded to the exit of the study cave, her scroll tucked under her wing. She decided she would read more of it before bed.

As she rounded the corner out of the small hallway into the dining cave, she saw Mirage sitting at the table doing more puzzles. She loved doing them and getting her brain running like clockwork. She moved a puzzle piece into its correct spot and searched for another puzzle piece. She had light yellow scales with almost golden under scales that glinted beautifully in the sunlight. She had light brown freckles covering her snout that dispersed across the rest of her body.

Mirage was the Sandwing of the prophecy, and she breathed the strangest colour of fire ever created. Blue fire. She was also the youngest of the dragonets.

The cave had one long table with many chairs coming with it, the torches flickering mischievously. Many dirty plates were waiting at one end of the table, where Hawk was busy cleaning the dishes. He held a plate in his hand, covered with soap and dried it off with a dry cloth.

Hawk was one of the guardians in the cave complex, specifically Mirage's. He was also the dragon who taught them history in the study cave. He had sandy yellow scales with extremely pale under scales and had black diamonds going along his neck and another black diamond on his forehead. He also had a fully black stinger.

As Hawk returned one of the plates to a cabinet, he noticed Cyan quietly slipping into the cave.

"Cyan, go tell the others that dinner is soon. You are all expected to be here in half an hour." Hawk barked.

Cyan stood on her hind legs and saluted. "Sir, yessir!" Hawk smiled. She knew this amused and gave pleasure to the older dragon; he had given up his role as Queen Desert's general after all.

She stepped into the fighting cave, where there was an opening on the right of the wall. It was long but too thin for the dragonets to climb out of. Swamp had pulled a chair from the dining cave to the fighting cave to watch the sunset. His elbow was on the edge of the opening, his fist on his cheek. His eyes were half-open. He loved the sunsets, along with stargazing. It was his favourite hobby to stay up with Betrayal and watch the stars flickering beautifully on the night sky. Swamp was seventh oldest and was immune to fire.

Cyan decided she wouldn't bother him. She heard the quiet hiss of fire and leaped out of the way before she could get hit. Cyan hadn't realised until then that Betrayal and Copper were battle training. Copper was the Skywing guardian and she was the dragon who did battle training with them. Her orange scales glinted in the glow of the torches, her crimson under scales almost hidden. She breathed a large yellow flame in response to Betrayal's fire.

Betrayal was the female Nightwing dragonet whose favourite hobby was fighting. Since she was born in the moonlight on the brightest night, she had mind reading and future sight abilities. She read Copper's mind and leaped out of the way before the fire could hit her. She had silver teardrop scales behind her eyes, so sometimes the dragonets accidentally thought she was crying when she was in a bad mood.

Cyan didn't like Betrayal. She was secretive, cruel and ignorant most of the time, completely throwing away all the opinions of the dragons around her. She was also related to the creator of the prophecy, with Foresight being her aunt. Betrayal was the fourth oldest.

The fighting cave was empty. There was much room for the dragonets to fight with Copper. Cyan winced as she almost got blasted by Betrayal's fire and dashed into the hunting cave next door.

Snapper, Cyan's guardian, was with Taiga, teaching him a new hunting move. The hunting cave was full of stalactites and holes for where the prey could hide. Cyan could hear the faint clucking of chickens hiding somewhere in the cave.

Snapper was a dark, almost black navy colour. His under scales were an almost white pastel aqua, and when his glowing scales lit up they were a sky blue. He was watching Taiga with intense focus.

Taiga was the Icewing dragonet who was the oldest. He was quite masculine with broad shoulders and a wide chest. He had grown to be stupidly handsome. What made him even more beautiful was the fact that he had a genetic disorder causing the colours of his eyes and frostbreath to swap. Instead of onyx black eyes, he had pure lily-white ones. His frostbreath was also no longer lily-white, but onyx black. It was the most interesting disorder that Cyan had ever come across.

He breathed his black frostbreath onto an escaping chicken and received praise from Snapper. She smiled and waved hello at her guardian and Taiga before moving along into the sick cave/gardening cave.

It was one cave, but there was a wall splitting it into two parts. On the right side of the cave, there was the sick cave. There were two hay nests and a table that was covered with medicines and remedies for all sorts of different problems. Silverdrop, the Silkwing guardian was standing by the table sorting the medicines out. He was a slate grey with white legs, head, and tail. He had rose-gold horns and talons, and rose-gold wings. The rose-gold parts of his scales glinted like jewels in the light of the torches from the walls. There was also an opening on the right side leading to the guardian's sleeping caves.

On the left side of the cave, there was the gardening cave. Clove and Ringtail were working in there. The gardening cave had many boxes containing soil, and many different types of fruits, vegetables, flowers, herbs, and vines. There were six large boxes with soil. On the very left there were three fruit trees growing. A fig, orange and mango tree to be specific. The box was labelled 'fruit'. The box on the right of the fruit garden was named 'vegetables' where potatoes, carrots, and lettuce was growing peacefully. The box on the right of that had thyme, parsley, and mint growing in the rich, brown soil. The box was labelled with 'herbs'. The next box was empty had had no label. The box next to that was named 'vines' and there was ivy, grapes, and your common creeper growing along those. The last box on the very right had Sunflowers, Dragon Breath, and Bluebells sprouting from the soil. Cyan couldn't see the label for that box, for Ringtail was standing in front of it, but she guessed it was called 'flowers'.

The river running through the mountain had crossed over to this cave, allowing a running water source for plants.

Clove was the Leafwing guardian and was in charge of teaching us to grow plants in case we couldn't find any prey to catch. She was a beautiful Leafwing, with rich, dark brown scales and light brown wings. She had light brown freckles spread across her snout, making her look very feminine. She had light brown horns and claws, darker brown feet, light brown eyes, and a darker brown tail. She smelled strongly of clove. She was busy tending to the herbs.

Ringtail was the female Silkwing, who had the most stunning colours the dragonets had ever seen. She had white scales with pale blue and pale yellow rings wrapping around her entire body. She had pale blue horns and pale yellow legs. She looked like a Lily, Sunflower, and Bluebell combined. She was tending to the flowers, her smile bright as she looked at each flower with hope and faith that they would stay for a while. She was also a flamesilk. On the left side of the cave, there was an opening leading to the dragonet's sleeping cave.

She turned to walk into that tunnel and felt the ground go in a downwards slope, just as she knew it would. She reached the sleeping caves in no time to find Magma, Paradise, and Sage doing their things.

Magma had firescales, but at a young age, he enchanted himself so he could turn that skill on or off, like a switch. He was currently working on a debate question from Aloe and was probably writing down a bloody good answer. Without his firescales, he had orange scales with golden under scales; that is what he looked like now. However, when he got into a fight, golden veins pumped with magma, fireproof blood and adrenaline all in one, with smoke rising off him intensely. He also had icy blue eyes, showing much of his persona when he was angry. He was the sixth oldest.

Paradise was completely different in looks, but boy, oh boy, you do not want to get on her bad side. She was currently having a nap; she usually slept in the middle of the day and had an afternoon nap after that as well. She was always happy after forty winks. She had lime green scales with small hints of light rose pink. She also had hot pink under scales, which was the colour of I-will-give-you-a-headache-if-you-stare-at-me-too-long. Her wings and ruff were a light rose pink that faded to a bright yellow. Her eyes were usually a bright yellow as well, but they could also change colour. Cyan and Paradise were the only dragons who didn't have any other special powers. Paradise was the fifth oldest.

Cyan unlocked her gaze from Paradise and turned over to look at Sage. Her eyes rested fondly on the older dragonet. He was the third oldest. Sage had pale green scales with dark pale green wings and head. He had pale green horns and claws. Dark pale green scales flanked his legs and his tail, with his tail tip ending in a pale green. He also had a pale green snout and eyes and smelled like sage if you got closer to him. Sage tended to be rebellious, logical and observant about everything, and like Taiga, had grown stupidly handsome. Sage was busy doing the thing he liked doing best; crafting bows and arrows. He had declared this morning that he was going to make five new arrows and add them to his remaining three. The pointy iron arrow that would be melted onto the craved stick was waiting at the edge of the table. He was holding some swan feathers for the fletching. He attached them onto the arrow and walked to the middle of the cave where he got the iron arrow onto the other end of the stick. Cyan did not know how the whole process went, but she enjoyed watching Sage do his thing.

Sage lifted his new arrow and as he walked back to his fletching table, he caught Cyan red-handed.

"Hey, Cyan! Like my new arrow?" His chest puffed with pride. The dragonets were all about six years old and would go out to stop the Evolved in a year. Cyan had forgotten how Sage seemed twice his size when he got proud; he had gotten quite large over the years.

"Yes, I do. Can I… take a look?" Sage nodded and handed her the newly crafted arrow. The wood was made from pine, it's dull brown reminding her of Clove. It was cool to the touch and the white swan feathers soft. The iron at the top was still slightly warm, but smooth and unscathed since it hadn't been used yet.

"It's well crafted. I bet Snapper was happy when you caught those Swans for dinner yesterday. He likes watching you hunt birds for your arrows." Cyan flashed him a smile, and Sage chuckled at the remark.

"Also, Hawk says dinner is in half an hour. Tell everyone to go there. He demands that we make it there alive because Blackberry and Silencecaller are coming in with a storm." Cyan laughed. Blackberry was Paradise's guardian and was in charge of getting fruit and vegetables from the outside world. He had dark purple scales with hints of black, and lavender under scales. His wings were also beautiful, with them being a dark purple from bird's eye view, and lavender on the other side. Silencecaller wasn't much different. He had fully black scales with dark brilliant blue under scales and eyes. The white specks on his wings truly manipulated the mind into thinking that his wings were fallen night skies. He was in charge of hunting other wanted meat for the dragons in the cave complex to devour.

Sage snorted and then Cyan continued. "Do you know where Honeybee is?"

"He's in that extra cave where he likes to play his music." Sage snickered, still amused by what she said a minute ago.

Cyan thanked him and moved over to her small cove. The sleeping caves were massive, holding each dragonets' little slice of home. There was a small opening on the left of the entrance, which led to a small underground lake with an added beach. There were no torches in there; Cyan relied on her night vision skills to see what she was doing. There was a little outcrop of rocks where she had her small shelf with all her current scrolls and books that she was reading. Before heading into her lake, she looked around the sleeping cave.

There were two palm trees planted next to each end of the opening leading to her sleeping area where there was soil; a hammock was tightened to the top of these trees and that was where Paradise was sleeping. On the right of the opening, there was an open hole (it's barely big enough to fit her head through) and there was a bare, rock ledge just underneath it. Magma rested there. She knew the wind from outside calmed him down; Magma had insomnia and struggled to sleep, but when he could feel the wind he slept better. Underneath the rock ledge was an indent in the wall. Shadows crowded and stepped over each other there, where it was darkest at night. There were a few scrolls on fighting techniques lying next to the hay nest; Betrayal slept there during the night.

Betrayal had a strange sleeping pattern for a Nightwing. Most Nightwings were awake during the night and slept during the day, but she did the total opposite alongside Silencecaller. I guess living in dark caves all of their lives makes their brains think it is night all the time, without them realising it.

Next to the indent was a hole that was filled with sand and it got quite hot there during summer. Mirage liked sleeping there. Next to her, there was a small pond with another hole next to it filled with mud. Swamp loved hiding in there when he was napping.

There was even more soil in the ground next to Swamp's area. The soil was nutritious and healthy enough for a large pine tree to grow there. It had a wide trunk and a large nesting area inside. Sage had made a hay nest in there, and slept and read and did homework in there too. Sage had told her that he cut some of the tree away to make small shelves for books and scrolls. He had managed to make a folding table that folded in and out allowing him to do homework. Sage had even added some iron hooks to hang his bows and made an extra shelf to hold his arrows. When Cyan thought about it, the tree was wider than it was tall. Sage was also smarter than he looked.

Surrounding the tree were sunflowers. In between the sunflowers, Ringtail had made a hay nest and only slept there. Taiga had used his black frostbreath to make a little igloo made of ice; it was far away from the sleeping areas and Cyan guessed he liked his space. Cyan didn't know what was inside the igloo, but she bet that it was graceful and smart inside.

Cyan returned her gaze to the little entrance to her cove and walked in gracefully. She put the scroll on a special bookshelf; she only put scrolls and books there if they were for homework or if she enjoyed reading them. She put the scroll about RED there for both of the reasons. She got out of her alcove and turned to walk into the smaller cave where Honeybee resided.

In the cave, there was simply a cypress bed with yellow sheets, a cypress nightstand with drawers containing scrolls and books along with a cypress violin stand. Honeybee stood on his hind legs, facing away from Cyan, playing the Violin. He was playing his favourite song called 'Perfect' by the famous violin player, Dreamsinger of the Nightwings. It was beautiful. He just stood there, his broad, black shoulders and yellow hips moving along to the music. His dragonfly-like wings fluttered gracefully in beat to the violin, his solo just breathtaking.

He had yellow scales with black stripes very similar to a bee's. He had a small, black stinger, black horns and claws, black feet, and a yellow head. His amber eyes were closed, his long snout pointing to the ground as he smiled. As Honeybee finished the last note of his solo, Cyan clapped with awe. He turned around, bowed, and put his cypress violin and bow on their separate stands. He landed back on four feet and looked like a prince as he did it.

"You are such a talented musician. I could never play as well as you can." Cyan spoke the truth.

Honeybee chuckled. Even when he laughed he looked like he was royal. I mean, no surprise there. He is the prince of the Hivewings. "I bet you could play some simple notes if you tried and thank you."

"Well, dinner is about to start, so let's head to the dining cave." She flashed him a smile.

"Yeah, let's head out. I'm starving." Honeybee chuckled again as he walked to the side of the exit, lifting his hand and pointing them to the sleeping cave. "Dragonesses first."

Always the gentleman. Cyan nodded her thanks and walked out first. Cyan thought about Honeybee's powers as she walked to the dining cave alongside said Honeybee.

Honeybee was by far the most powerful of the dragonets in the entire cave complex. Not only did he have fire breathing (Cyan knew Hivewings couldn't breathe fire), he had all the different powers of his tribe. He could shoot a deadly flammable venom from his wrists, he had stingers on his tail that shot corrosive acid, he had venomous fangs like Rainwings, he could release toxic gas from his claws that would paralyse you in seconds and he was an Animus. Super powerful. He was also the second oldest. Cyan, on the other claw, was the second youngest.

After lots of thinking about why she didn't have any other special power, the two dragonets arrived in the dining cave. Blackberry and Silencecaller had returned with bananas, starfruit, coconuts, cows, chickens, and salmon. Mirage's puzzle was nowhere to be seen. Cyan guessed that Mirage had moved it to the study cave.

Princess Hornet and Moonstone had also arrived back from guarding duty. Moonstone always guarded the doorway. She had white scales with frost-coloured under scales. The same frosty colour was on her white scales, making snowflake patterns all over her neck. She was quite a proud dragon about how sneaky she could be, and was always unfriendly towards those who said she isn't a good spy. She was also extremely beautiful; Moonstone was in the slender section of looks.

Princess Hornet usually did guard duty with Moonstone when she wasn't giving the dragonets a flying lesson. Princess Hornet was Prince Honeybee's older sister by two and a half years. She had mostly black scales with thin orange and crimson red stripes wrapping themselves around her waist. She had a red stinger, orange feet, a black head, and horns that went from orange to red. She was also quite snobbish and jealous of the prophecy Claws, but she was a very loyal princess.

Aloe walked into the room. She was Cyan's favourite guardian for she was always kind and liked to teach the dragonets reading and writing. She had pale brown scales with milt chocolate coloured under scales and gold eyes.

Cyan sat down and Honeybee took the seat next to her. She felt her claws tingle, not only from Honeybee sitting next to her but for the fact that animus magic tingled in her claws every day. The other dragonets sitting around her tucking into their feast where all animus dragons. RED will be defeated, and she knew it.

For now, she lifted a fat salmon and took a bite into it, her tail quietly thumping on the ground with pleasure from eating her favourite food.

Clearsight was about to take the bracelet out, but then a vision cascaded down. Clearsight crumpled to the floor, barely hearing Darkstalker's angry shouts turn into worried shouts. He let go of Clearsight's wrists. The small cave in Agate Mountain disappeared. The futures she saw… they were peaceful, for once. She didn't see King Darkstalker with his crown of thorns, she didn't see King Darkstalker killing off Turtle and Indigo, she didn't see King Darkstalker trying to kill the queen. All she could see was Eclipse, Shadowhunter, and Dreamspeaker listening to a story that Darkstalker was telling them. Darkstalker wasn't talking about murder or how he killed someone; instead, he was telling the story of how he and Clearsight got married. In this possible future, Darkstalker was no longer evil, and in that timeline, they agreed to rename Fierceclaws into Dreamspeaker. Her mind flashed again and she saw the very cave she was standing in, having a conversation with Darkstalker. She heard every word of the lecture and knew that she simply had to talk to him about what he was doing.

All she needed to do was talk to him about this future.

Oh my word, this story just keeps getting better and better!

I am sorry for those who have been waiting a long time for me to post a new chapter for 'How Bloodclan Came To Be' or for 'Where the Hollow Belongs'. I have currently just paused my writing for them to release this chapter. After all this writing, I will be updating 'Where the Hollow Belongs' with a new chapter. Thank you for understanding!

Once I have all these stories up and going (as in they both have at least ten chapters), I am going to start ANOTHER new fan fiction for Minecraft. It will be a whole new series about the different viruses that have infected Minecraft over the years, like Herobrine, Entity 303, Null, Silas, and so on.

Thank you for the people who support my fanfiction. Even if you only like one of them, I am still glad you enjoy them. I haven't been writing for a very long time, so this is all new to me and I am even more excited to see my little fanfiction community grow.

And holy shirt, I just realised that there are 4424 words in this chapter alone. That's more words than 'Where the Hollow Belongs'!

Gosh, I have a lot to write. ;-;
