"The Russians ain't gonna let this massacre go unanswered. It's gonna get bloody." Ghost's tone was blunt as he spoke to Soap over a radio in the backseat of the car we were currently situated in. I could hear papers rustling around as I shifted in my seat, pulling my left leg up onto the seat and slipping my arm around it.

Soap sighed, looking over at Roach before answering back to Ghost. "Too late, mate. Now, in the eyes of the world, they're the victims. No one's gonna say a word when the Russians club every American they can reach."

"Makarov was one move ahead. Now he's left thousands of bodies at the feet of an American," The radio in Soap's hand boomed with the voice of Lieutenant General Shepherd.

"We're the only ones who know it was Makarov's op. Our credibility died with Allen. We need proof." Soap looked up at me and I sighed, watching as Roach threw a paper on the floor and picked up another one with a mugshot on it. Soap ripped it out of his hand, scanning it over quickly as Shepherd came over the radio again. "Follow the shell. Alejandro Rojas. You know him as Alex the Red. He supplied the assault."

I placed a finger to my head and looked at Soap. "One bullet to unleash the fury of a whole nation."

Soap opened his mouth to say something as Shepherd cut in. "He's our ticket to Makarov."

"Aye." I pointed at the radio and nodded, Roach nodding back at me with a grin. Soap made a face and shoved the paper with Rojas' mugshot on it at me. "Don't get cocky now. Just be on the lookout for him."

"You got it, Sir." I nodded at Soap as I scanned the paper, listening to Soap and Ghost communicate over the radios again. "Any sign of him, yet?"

"Negative. They've stopped twice already and no sign of him." Soap huffed lightly as he grabbed the back of my seat to pull himself forward, looking out the front window of the small car. "Wait, stop here."

I looked up to see the car stopping behind a white van in front of us, Soap moving forward just a bit to lean against the dashboard and get a closer look at a man walking out of a building. Two men got out of the white van and one raised a gun, earning both arms from the suspicious man to rise above him.

"Whoever these guys are, they're not happy to see him." Soap made a face as I nodded, placing my leg back on the ground and leaning against the dashboard next to Soap. "Uh, that's a code: suspect."

He made a face at me as the suspect whipped out a machine gun, taking down both of the men from the white van. I felt a shove on my back as Soap pushed me down, his voice tearing through the quiet of the car. "We've got a situation! Get down now!"

Soap screamed into the radio at Ghost and everyone in the car, Roach following suit and getting down as far as he could in the back seat. Just as Soap said that the windshield shattered as bullets rained in from the man. A wet substance smacked me in the left cheek and I looked up, staring at parts of our driver's brain matter splattered across the dashboard.

"Jesus Christ," Soap looked over at the driver and then up at the scene in front of us, his eyes going wide as he shook my shoulder. "He's getting away! Firebird, Roach, let's go!"

I didn't really have time to react as I grabbed my gun and followed him out of the car with Roach behind me, all three of us turning a corner where the suspect ran. I slammed into an older woman as she ran away from whatever was happening in the opposite direction, mouthing a sorry to her as I caught up with Soap and Roach. He looked at us and then spoke into his radio. "Ghost! Our driver's dead. We're on foot. Meet us at the Hotel Rio and cut him off if you can!"

"Roger, I'm on my way!" I heard Ghost respond as we ran down a street, weaving through crowds of people running away in fear. I took the lead of the group and winced as I passed a car on fire, feeling the heat smack me in the face. I looked to the left and then motioned behind me at Soap and Roach. "The alley, this way!"

"No lethal takedowns! We need him alive!" I nodded as Soap ran past me, Ghost coming up on my left. I grinned at him, seeing the suspect come into view in front of us. "Fancy meeting you here."

Ghost looked over at me and rolled his eyes, Soap cutting off his retort. "Firebird, take the shot! Go for his leg!"

I fired a couple of rounds, hitting the suspect in the leg and forcing him to stumble forward and onto his face. I ran up to him and gently pushed him onto his back with my foot, Soap, Ghost and Roach all coming up behind me to gather around the man. Ghost grabbed the man by his arm, hauling him up and taking him a few feet away and into a small garage. Soap jumped up followed by Roach and I, pulling over a chair as Ghost dropped the man down on it.

I watched as Ghost went to the corner of the garage and grabbed a pair of jumper cables, touching them together and making sparks. I walked over to him and made a face as Soap talked to Roach. "You look way too happy to be holding those."

Ghost looked at me and I can only imagine grinned under his balaclava. "This is the best part, sweetheart."

I rolled my eyes as he made them spark again, this time in my direction. I slid out of the way and glared, opening my mouth to retort when Soap spoke again. "This is going to take some time. You go with Roach and meet up with Meat and Royce. Check out the favela for any sign of Rojas. That's where this guy was headed."

I nodded at him and saw Ghost make a 'shoo' motion at me as I glared once again at him, following Roach out of the garage. As soon as I jumped out I looked back to see Soap closing the garage door, a look of panic on the suspect's face as Ghost let out a loud laugh.

I shook my head and then looked at the men around me. "Let's go."

Royce nodded at me and followed by my side, looking back at Roach and Meat behind us. "Remember there are civilians in the favela. Watch your fire out there."

We all ran up a staircase and came to a fenced-in ledge overlooking a small section of housing. I stopped at the fence and looked around at the people gathered near one of the homes, Royce coming up to stand next to me. "Meat, clear the civilians out."

"Roger that." I heard Meat from behind me and then watched him jump down the ledge, holding his gun up in the air and shouting in Spanish. He began firing rounds into the air and the civilians fled in panic, the rest of us jumping down behind him. Meat glanced at Royce and grinned, his face faltering as bullets whizzed past our heads and hit the stone wall behind us. We scattered behind cover and Royce grabbed the radio from his vest. "Bravo Six, be advised. We've engaged enemy militia in the lower village."

I noticed two men running over a makeshift bridge, bringing my gun up and taking them down as they crossed. I heard Roach move from my right, taking out one more sneaking in from the left.

"Firebird, I'm with you. Let's invade the rooftops!" I nodded in Royce's direction and then broke from cover, running towards a small building on the left side of the village. I crouched down as I ran, hearing a bullet fly past my head and the sound of Royce's gun ring out behind me. I smashed through a window in the building and climbed in, Royce following behind me. I quickly turned a corner and was met by another man, his gun hitting me in the face and forcing me to stumble back.

"Not today!" I heard Royce yell from my left and then saw him lunge forward, sticking his knife into the man's neck and bringing him down. I shook my head in pain and placed a hand over my temple, noticing Royce reach a hand down. "You OK?"

"Yeah, just a little scratch." I nodded and grinned up at him, taking his hand and allowing him to help me up. I followed him out of the building and up another set of stairs to the rooftops, seeing Roach and Meat climb up to the rooftops on the other side. I grabbed the radio on my vest and brought it up to my mouth, surveying the scene below as Royce continued firing at hostiles below. "Ghost, there's no sign of Rojas here!"

"Copy that. Keep searching and let me know if you see him. Out!" I nodded as I dropped the radio and began firing at hostiles again, watching as one fell off of the makeshift bridge.

"There's our exit point. We can get out of here through that opening on the far side." I nodded in the direction Royce was pointing, covering him as he jumped back down to ground level. I ran forward through a building on the rooftop, dropping one enemy on the way to the other side. I felt a flurry of bullets go past me and looked down, watching as two men shot at me from below a ramp.

I glared and held my gun to the side, sliding down the ramp with enough force to kick over the man on the left. I looked up at the other man from the ground as he raised his gun, my left hand reaching for my Desert Eagle and quickly firing off a couple of rounds into his torso. I sighed as the gunfire died down, Roach and Meat running over to where I was sitting. I accepted Roach's hand and allowed him to help me up, running over to where Royce was standing in front of another set of stairs.

"Firebird, I've got Rojas' location. He's headed west along the upper levels of the favela," I grabbed the radio on my vest and nodded at everyone around me, nodding in the direction of the stairs. "We'll keep him from doubling back on our side. You guys keep going and cut him off up top."

"Roger that." I raised my gun again and followed behind the pack up the stairs, running through an open alleyway with a large fenced-in area to the right. A few more hostiles popped up on the rooftops at the end of the alley, quickly being gunned down by all of us as we moved forward.

"I'm still tracking Rojas and he went into a building. Ghost, you see him?" I listened to Soap yell through the radio as I shot down another man running across a makeshift bridge above us, Royce taking down two more ahead of the group.

"Roger that. He's climbing onto the roof with a black duffel bag." Ghost answered back, his voice in a rush as he grunted. I lowered my gun a bit as I dodged another incoming bullet, speaking into the radio again. "We'll intercept him up ahead for you."

"Got it!" Soap went quiet over the radio soon after, all four of us moving closer to their location through twisting alleyways. The radio chatter got more frantic not soon after as we ran, all of us trying to understand what was happening between Soap, Ghost and Rojas' location. A hostile whipped his head around the corner of a building just a few inches away from me and I glared, kicking him in the head and then shooting him when he was down.

"Fuck outta here..." I grunted at his body as I ran ahead, taking the lead again and running up a set of stairs to the rooftops. I took out a few enemies as the radio chatter got more frantic, Ghost getting another visual on Rojas. I ran up two more sets of staircases as everyone followed behind me, my eyes darting between the rooftops looking for Soap or Ghost.

I turned the corner of an alleyway and came to a clearing, hearing Ghost's voice crack on the radio. "He's going to get away!"

I saw Soap running after Rojas from the corner of my eye, watching as he chased him through a torn up building. I saw him smirk as he spoke into the radio. "No he's not."

My eyes went wide as I watched Soap tackle Rojas, pushing them both off the edge of the building and straight down onto a parked car below. I shielded my eyes as Rojas landed on the car first with Soap on top of him, glass flying everywhere. I peeked over my arm to see Soap kneeling above Rojas, his gun aimed at him as he spoke into his radio. "Frontunner, this is Bravo Six. We've got the package. I repeat, we've got the package."

"The skies are clear. Send the chopper now." Ghost ran to the other side of Rojas and Soap, aiming his gun at the man lying down.

"Well, that was uh…" I scratched my temple as I walked towards Soap, his gaze meeting my form as he raised an eyebrow. "All in a day's work?"

Soap looked at me expectantly as I shook my head, leaning my gun against my right shoulder. "No. Fucking awesome."

Royce snorted from behind me as Soap laughed, Ghost rolling his eyes from beside the car. "Are you all quite bloody done?"
