Chapter 1
Elsa and Anna walked through the village surrounding Arendelle. They were taking a short walk before the celebration of the Equinox began.
"The leaves are so beautiful," Anna said.
Elsa nodded in agreement as she looked at the trees. Their leaves turned orange with the onset of colder weather.
"I wonder what this year will be like," the princess continued. "This will be our first natural winter since Hans, after all."
"Well, I can tell you one thing," Elsa said. "I won't be responsible for any snow falling on you."
Anna gave her a smirk before turning back to the path. Elsa saw Olaf running to greet them.
"Well, look who it is!" she said. "Showing off the new permafrost?"
"You know it!" he replied happily. "This stuff is fantastic!"
Elsa only smiled as he ran past them. Anna followed after him in a playful game of tag, while Elsa just walked calmly along the path.
She then heard a distant voice, like a woman harmonizing. She turned towards the forest bordering the village, only to see the orange leaves.
She turned back to the path to continue on her way, only for the voice to return.
It sounded so familiar. Why? Did she have a dream about this?
"Queen Elsa?" Kai inquired. He surprised her so much that a spark of her magic shot from her hand into the ground next to her.
"Oh, Kai! Sorry, you surprised me."
Elsa continued on her way, following Kai to the area designated for the celebration. She couldn't shake off the feeling of familiarity about the voice.
Elsa stood in her room, looking out at the red trees that colored the landscape. She pulled her mother's scarf over her shoulders.
"I knew something was wrong," she heard Anna say.
"Why would you say that?" Elsa inquired.
"You're wearing mom's scarf. You only wear it when you're upset."
Elsa looked at her sister. She could see the worry in Anna's eyes.
"What's wrong?" the redhead asked.
"I just... I feel like I don't belong here anymore," Elsa replied.
She couldn't tell her sister about the voice. She probably wouldn't understand.
"Why not?"
"Well, when Kai surprised me on the path today, I accidentally shot a giant icicle into the ground."
"How big?"
"Big as Kai."
"OK. That's-that's big."
Anna stood in silence for a moment to think about her next words.
"Well, don't worry, Elsa," she said. "You know that you are loved and wanted here. Everybody here loves you."
"I know, but-"
"No buts."
Elsa stood there with Anna for a while. She knew that Anna was stubborn. That's why she blessed her relationship with Kristoff.
"Thank you," she finally said.
Anna smiled and gave her sister a hug. She loved Elsa so much, and Elsa loved Anna just as much.
"I'm gonna be playing charades with Kristoff and Olaf in the other room," Anna said. "Don't take too long!"
She left the room, leaving Elsa on her own. With Anna gone, Elsa could hear the woman's voice again.
"Who are you?" she wondered aloud.
The voice harmonized again. Elsa tried mimicking the tune, and the voice immediately followed. The two voices sang back and forward, until Elsa remembered another song, a song that she remembered her mother singing one time.
Mosura ya Mosura
Dengan kesaktian indukmu
Restuilah doa hamba hamba mu yang rendah bangunlah dan
tunjukkanlah
kesaktianmu
After Elsa sang this song, the voice harmonized the song perfectly. Elsa couldn't help but feel that she knew who was singing.
Then she saw her.
A massive leg appeared from beneath the balcony. It hooked over the railing and was followed by another. The two legs pulled up a small body that possessed a furry head. The blue eyes stared at her unblinkingly.
Elsa was taken aback by the sight. She thought it was a dream, but it was actually real?
"Mothra?" she inquired.
The insect chittered and whistled in reply. Amidst the sounds, Elsa could hear the woman's voice again.
"Hello again, Elsa. You've grown so much since last time."
