Skye was afraid. She was in the Cage, alone. No one had come for her.

After Raina fixed her leg up, Mike brought Skye to the Cage for safe keeping. Skye tried to initiate a conversation with him, hoping he'd soften up and help her escape, but she couldn't talk to him. He wouldn't even look at her. She could tell he was different. Not the Mike she used to know.

Skye sat on the cot and pulled her knees to her chest. She fought hard not to cry, but she was terrified. She had no idea what Raina was planning for her. The sobs came quickly then, and she felt like she was falling into a dark hole. A hole in which her team, her family, could not find.

At Cybertek, approximately one hour ago

"Where'd they go?" May asked Coulson.

"Who?" Coulson asked her.

"Garrett, Mike, Ward...and..." May's eyes widened. "...Skye. They're all gone."

"I didn't see them leave, I..." Coulson's heart was pounding. "I wasn't paying enough attention..."

"Did they take Skye?" Trip wanted to know. "Or is she still in the office?"

May shook her head in disbelief. "I don't know. Come on, let's go see."

Guns raised, the two specialists crept into the Cybertek office. They didn't find Skye; just the man who had the "bomb" strapped to him. He was ripping the backpack off himself.

May's heart sunk when she saw a faint trail of blood on the floor. "Where is Skye?!" she demanded from the bomb-man.

He furrowed his brow. "That girl who was trying to kill me?!"

May scoffed. "She was bluffing, you dumb bastard."

He clenched his fists. "Are you kidding?!" He sighed in defeat. "Some man came in here, I think Ward...yeah, that's his name. He came in here and shot her."

"He shot her?!" Trip gasped.

The man nodded. "In the leg. Then he just carried her away. I have no idea where they are now."

May looked at Trip. "Go tell Coulson. We need to get moving."

Trip nodded and obeyed, leaving the room. May aimed her gun at the bomb-man. "You. Get out of my sight."

He left without another word.

"Ward captured Skye?!" Coulson asked, terrified. His heart was racing in his chest. "But that...no..."

"Not just Ward," May added. "Garrett. And Raina. Hydra captured Skye."

Coulson seemed to be staring into space. "And remember what the Clairvoyant said..."

"'Skye has something we want, and she'll die giving it to us,'" May finished.

Coulson looked up at May. "We need to get moving. Now."

"Coulson," came a vaguely familiar voice. Coulson whipped around to see none other than Nick Fury.

"Fury...I...nice to see you, sir," Coulson stuttered.

Fury nodded. "You as well. I came to tell you about your scientist friends. They're alive."

May's face lit up. "Really?"

"Yes. Except the boy, I think Fitz...he's not in good shape."

"What happened?" Trip asked.

"Hypoxia. He might never be the same again."

The three agents looked down sadly.

Coulson finally spoke up. "Fury, Hydra took one of my agents. Did you see the Bus anywhere?"

Fury shook his head. "Must've slipped out before I could catch a glimpse. Coulson, I hate to break it to you, but Hydra is capturing people every day. We've got more pressing matters at hand."

"What could possibly be more pressing than this?!" Coulson was angry.

"Hop in the quinjet outside, and I'll bring you where you need to be."

Back on the Bus

Where was her team? Did they forget about her?

Skye felt the Bus land. She wondered where she was and hoped her team could still find her.

Skye jumped when the Cage door opened. It was Ward. "Come on," he ordered.

Skye bit her lip. "No."

Ward groaned and walked over to her, grabbing her arm and jerking her upright. "Let's go, Skye."

Skye whipped around and kneed him in the groin, making him double over in pain. She sprinted to the door and rushed outside, hurrying across the plane. Then she realized she had no place to go.

"Leaving so soon?" came a male voice. Skye spun around to see Garrett approaching, with Mike and a few other soldiers. Garrett spread his hands out, grinning a side-grin. "We were just getting to know you."

Skye's leg was aching from too much activity at once. "You had me shot, Garrett. Not just once, either. What makes you think I'd comply to your..." She waved her arms around. "...your Nazi bullcrap."

"You will in time," he told her, still grinning.

That man...there was something off about him. It made Skye shiver. "Go to hell," she snapped.

Garrett turned to the metal-man next to him. "What do you say, Mikey?"

Mike seemed to understand and he began to approach Skye. "No, no, no..." Skye said, backing up. "Please, Mike..."

Before she could react, Mike had her pinned against the wall. He put her arms behind her back and handcuffed them.

Skye groaned in frustration. "You'll regret this when my team comes to get me."

Mike pulled her away from the wall and began to escort her out of the Bus.

"That hope," Garrett told Skye. "is just gonna get you killed."

As they left the Bus, Skye could tell they were in a hangar of some sort. When they got inside, Skye didn't see much, as she was quickly thrown into a cell.

Once she was alone, Skye searched the cell. It was basic; like your standard interrogation room. She saw a tiny security camera in the upper righthand corner, right near the door. She wondered if she could use that to contact the team.

Her thoughts were interrupted when Raina entered the room.

"What do you want?" Skye hissed as the woman sat down on the chair across from her.

Raina blinked a few times. "I thought I'd tell you what I have planned." Skye decided just to shut up and let Raina talk. Raina folded her hands in her lap. "We saved Garrett's life using my version of the Guest House drug."

"Thank heavens," Skye remarked sarcastically. Shut up, she told herself. Let her talk.

"I want to know how your body's reaction to GH-325 was different than Garrett's. Ideally, I'd have liked to have Coulson here as well, but we know the team would be all up and arms if he vanished."

"They care about me just as much as they care about him," Skye snapped.

Raina smiled a tiny smile and tilted her head. "Skye, they don't. They would have saved you by now if they did."

Once again, Raina had hit a nerve. "You don't know that's true," Skye whispered.

"You're right, I don't. But regardless, I have you now. And we can begin."

Skye thrashed against the cuffs binding her wrists. "What are you gonna do to me?!" She had to admit, she was scared.

"I just want to see what the drug did to you. Don't you worry, I'll keep you alive."

"That's real comforting," Skye muttered.

Raina stood up. "I'll see in a little bit." She left the cell.

The cell door opened not a second later and a soldier came in. Skye jerked out of her chair at the sight of the syringe the man held. "No..." she gasped. "...no..."

The strong soldier grabbed her by her shirt collar and Skye felt a sharp pain in her neck. In a few seconds, she felt her body go limp and everything turned black.

When Skye awoke, the first thing she noticed was how cold she felt. She also noticed her lack of clothing; all she wore was a thin, scratchy hospital gown-type thing. She opened her eyes to see herself bound to a cool, metal table by wrist and ankle straps.

The room around her looked like something from a movie. There was a too-bright light shining right into her face and a number of trays around her filled with various chemicals and surgical tools.

"I see you're awake," came a voice, which made Skye jump. She looked to her left and saw Raina, who now wore black scrubs and a surgical mask.

Skye's heart raced. "What are you gonna do to me?" She felt slightly dizzy from whatever they'd injected into her neck.

Raina patted Skye's shoulder. "Don't worry, Skye. I'm just curious. I would never kill you. You're far too special."

Skye was now trembling in fear as Raina arranged the tools on the tray. "Please, Raina, I..." She took a deep breath to calm herself. "Is it going to hurt?"

"Yes," Raina replied. "Undoubtedly. But I'll put you to sleep, of course, when we get into the more...invasive procedures."

Sky's shook her head in dismay. "Real reassuring, Raina." She eyed the I.V. port which was now stuck in her arm.

"I just want to see what the drug did to you. You weren't dead when they gave it to you like Coulson was. I want to know how you reacted differently. So..." Raina lifted up a tool. "...let's get started, shall we?"

Dun dun dun!! Mwa ha ha I left you on a cliffhanger :P
