Bertoti here, I just want to thank you all for the support, it truly motivates me to write more.

Enjoy.

Preparations, it was definitely something rooted in Sasuke's core. Always before a mundane task, like a mere D rank mission to chase a certain bloody cat, one he hoped had been buried in Konoha's rubble, or the fight of his life against his own older brother, Sasuke was ready beyond necessary and this time would be no different.

As soon as he left the bookshop, Sasuke made it his first task to raise funds to facilitate his indefinite stay in this new world. People wandered around, making the night streets even busier than they were during the day. With his absurd speed, Sasuke could search someone's pockets, check the financial situation, decide how much to catch without harming that person and return the rest before disappearing without anyone noticing more than a breeze.

However, he had to refrain from doing so.

Likewise, Sasuke could easily invade the school if he wanted to, without the need to get involved with people from the underworld, even more from another world that he was unaware of. However, there was no way to do it for a long time without drawing attention. One thing he noticed as soon as he landed in this city, would be how much technology has developed beyond his homeworld. Street surveillance by cameras and guards was absurd in comparison. Thus, it was easy to determine that the best Academy in the world would be much more strengthened.

"I'm almost sure that I saw a metal puppet walking without a thread connected to it… Just, how?" Sasuke grunted, his disagreement was wider than he thought. He definitely needed to set aside some research time for this broader subject.

Therefore, one more reason to avoid having problems, especially when avoiding them did not require any effort. Sasuke was unaware of the capabilities of these people, nor the extent of technological growth in this society.

"This surveillance, however… is it really the standard, or is there more going on here?" Sasuke pondered, stopping at the top of a building, trying to find his way to that night club. "Did they catch anything about my arrival?"

The Kaguya's portal was not necessarily extravagant. It disappeared as quickly as it appeared, which is why he got stuck in this place. Even if it was for a millionth of a second, there was a visible portal.

The question was, how unusual was that kind of thing.

Sasuke read a little bit about Semblance, skills granted by using the alternative version of Chakra, Aura, in those history books, and how they tended to be unique to each one. Sasuke ended up landing on a busy street near that bookstore, but he did it without causing an uproar and as soon as he caught the attention of others and noticed that there should be no people awake, he backed away after the first sentence addressed to him.

"The correct decision." Sasuke clenched his fists by just thinking about what might have happened if he hadn't done it in time.

By little, very little, Sasuke didn't kill everyone on the spot. The first thing he wondered on his arrival, was to have been thrown in a nest of those white Zetsu, who could accurately assume the appearance of anyone.

If it weren't for the ability of his eyes to see Chakra and the fact that these people don't have one, his arrival in this world would be an event to remember.

A really bad one.

"No matter, it's not like they represent a threat." Sasuke let this matter die, but grateful for his cold analysis ability, increasingly without recklessness. Itachi rooted that lesson on him in the worst way. "Unlike my world, it seems that almost everyone here is civil. Maybe that's why they are heading towards extinction? If there were more people to fight, they would have a much better chance against these creatures."

On the other hand, Sasuke also considered that perhaps not having a militaristic society, was exactly what was prolonging the life of this world.

According to the story of Hashirama, before the villages were formed, the clans had always fought, this had probably been happening since the end of the sage of six paths.

Too much time spilling blood and sowing animosity. Something lethal in this world. Which is why Sasuke decided to suppress a decent amount of his Chakra. If these Faunus were having panic attacks just because they were close to him, it wouldn't be strange that these Grimm's, creatures he still needed to see for himself, could feel him outside the walls and possibly result in a devastating wave against this kingdom.

"In addition to conserving and hiding my Chakra, I still avoid unnecessary problems," Sasuke thought in agreement and looked at the broken moon, one much bigger than the one in his world, probably the reason why the fragments did not bring a catastrophe that could make hurricanes and earthquakes look like child's tantrum. The greater the mass, the greater the gravity, avoiding a meteor shower.

All of this added to what he saw and learned in the last few hours only served to remind him of the fact that he was no longer in…

"Home." He closed his eyes, enjoying how calming the night wind could be. "Do I still have something like that?"

Every time he thought about Konoha, Sasuke felt angry. Involuntary, he admitted. However, emotions were not always tied to reasoning and logic. He understood why Itachi did what he did, but accepting it was another story. If the decision and choice had been put to him, Sasuke would not have chosen the village over the Clan, over his family.

Before Itachi's death and the truth about the same, whenever he thought about what to do after reaching his goal, Konoha, his old home, and Team Seven, his new family, comes to his mind. After the truth, he could only despise the place and each of its inhabitants living happily and smiling day after day with the sacrifice of the blood of his blood. After talking with the Kages, Sasuke started to hate the whole distorted system that shaped the course of history and those who supported it, where now could very well have managed to destroy the world.

"If there is still a world when I return, I will destroy this system and everything that stand in my way." Sasuke opened his eyes in the moonlight, Rinnegan and Sharingan burning in their orbits with resolution rekindled.

Sasuke would change the Elemental Nations even if it meant destroying it in the process.

But first, he needed to go after the information about this world to realize his ideals.

However small the doubt, Sasuke no longer wanted to regret a decision.

Fortunately, that goal was one step closer with a lucky encounter amid recent bad luck.

While looking for the nightclub, a little lost, Sasuke passed by what appeared to be one of the darkest parts of the city, where he came across a group of masked Faunus carrying suitcases in an encounter with a man in a white suit caring a cane.

It was so painfully suspicious and obvious that even Naruto could understand what was going on there… probably.

With the certainty that it was something illegal, Sasuke took the liberty to intervene and take possession of the content, hoping that it would earn him a decent amount of Lien.

"So, do you usually wear a uniform daily, or do you animals have no other clothes to wear?" Roman swallowed his cigar between words, smiling with the growing anger of these pawns from White Feng.

"Watch your tongue, human, if you want to keep it!" the group leader hissed, showing the edge of a gleaming blade in a warning.

"Yes, whatever." Roman nudged his hat, rolling his eyes with an indifferent smile. He was not afraid of these dogs without a leash, after all, they were the ones who needed his services and not the other way around. "I just asked because this meeting point is… How should I say? Painfully suspicious… Like, everything here screams "criminal transaction in progress". We could have met at a strip club. Dude, there's one close by, full of hot Faunus that you too would love!"

"Enough!" They all drew their weapons at the sound of the exalted voice from the Faunus in command. Physical language ready to attack. "One more insult and you will deal with the White Fang!"

"Jess, relax. Nobody knows how to take a joke these days." Roman muttered, keeping the fun in his tone "Straight to the point then. What do you, terrorists, want this time?"

"Tsk, the only terrorists in this world are those belonging to scum…"

"From my race and bla, bla, bla. Can you go faster with your hate speech? The smell here is terrible, no offense." Roman cut off the leader and raised the tension in the air to another level, squeezing his Melodic Cudgel harder just in case things went wild.

"Your son of a…" One of the members had enough and was ready to kill, but was stopped by a single hand of the leader.

"We have more important matters to deal with! If you're not interested, Roman, just say it! There are many more willing ones out there!"

"Of course, as if I could refuse without putting my head at a premium in your small organization," Roman grunted each word, clearly annoyed that he had to worry about not getting off track with these insane animals.

At least, the pay was worth.

"Good," the leader said, regaining control and showing what all humans should be like. How all humans would become; obedient in the face of fear.

"No more mystery, what do you want?"

"The only thing anyone could want coming to you."

"Oh ho, now this is interesting. Do you want Dust? You, who stole a crumpled train recently. Perhaps the new revolution is closer than expected, huh."

"Whether or not it is irrelevant to someone like you." The leader spat, Roman was the worst kind of human walking around, the kind who didn't care about anything but himself. "The withdraw on the train failed due to the actions of a traitor."

"A Faunus betraying White Fang? Nooo, does something like this exist?!" Roman scoffed, expressing false surprise in the most offensive way possible. Seeing the bouncing veins, teeth grinding and fists so clenching that you could hear the bones crack, it was worth the possible dance that would come, but he didn't want to lose a client or his head. "Okay, you know how I work. Half now, half on delivery. In non-traceable greenbacks, please."

The group leader seriously considered killing Roman, but they needed him… for now. The true leader was counting on them in this task. Letting anger get the better would only get in the game of this scum.

Roman smiled when he saw the stuffed suitcases coming towards him. Although he had a little job later with that hot, scary bitch, it never hurt to make one out. He could have Neo with him to make things easier. He didn't know why, but Junior's men didn't seem to be worth the price paid.

"I'll keep it."

Sasuke appeared out of nowhere among them, covered by his black cloak.

"Who are you…"

One of the fauns started to speak, but couldn't finish. The kick came so fast that it could only be tracked by Roman with the naked eye.

"Argh!" The man choked out a muffled cry when his aura broke along the wall where he was buried by the force of the blow.

"Shit, Roman, did you frame us?!"

Roman did not answer this nonsense, he had no time. By the time the attacker's feet left the target, completing the turn, another heel was already on him.

"Too fast!" Roman only managed to raise his arms to defend his head by pure instinct. He, who prided himself on being able to repel a bullet fired almost at close range, could barely follow a wired kick like that.

Worse, he couldn't keep his feet on the ground! His body was launched spinning like a star and the brick wall received him in an instant, severely damaging his Aura. The blow was strong enough to bewilder him in a way that he couldn't see others being pulled out of the game.

Everything was spinning and hurting worse than a Tuesday hangover.

If it weren't for the pain subsiding and the senses returning, Roman would be sure his Aura had been broken with a single blow.

A single damn blow.

"Who is this monster?!" He asked himself, trying to rise between the broken bricks. Heart racing faster than in a cocaine overdose.

"Looks like you can take a hit." Sasuke didn't expect anyone to do, he didn't even hold on based on the amount of chakra he left circulating. Amount enough to put him among the Jonin elite. Maybe he exceeded himself with those Faunus, Sasuke didn't like hearing about a revolution when his one could be considered a failure. "Well, given the previous conversation, you shouldn't be a person the world will miss, so don't blame me for this."

Fear washed over Roman, those words could only mean the end of the line. Was this how he was going to die? In an alley dirty by a random monster, and not stabbed or burned by a sadistic bitch?

It was a shitty life, but it was a shitty life well lived, he was sure of it.

Still, he wanted to enjoy it more.

"I don't want to die…" Despair was taking over him every second. A cold hand grabbed him by the throat, lifting him as if he were nothing and pressing him against what was left of the wall. When he managed to open his eyes to see the face of his killer, Roman was greeted by a red six-pointed star, adorned with three black lines inside.

Brighter than dust crystals, like blood in the moonlight.

So there was the pain.

Sasuke released the eccentric orange-haired thug as he started screaming and grabbing his head in agony.

"This was not supposed to happen…" he moved away from a little, watching his Eternal Mangekyou Genjutsu fail.

This illusion aimed to collect knowledge and information, not to torture. As soon as he used the technique, his Chakra infiltrated the man's body and there was no connection as it should.

"There is a thin layer of energy acting on my Chakra…" Sasuke observed. It was like seeing an immune system attacking a virus. He considered using Rinnegan for a deeper test, but taking into account the basic principle of the technique, the result would be the same, or worse for the target. "Great. It seems that Genjutsu is really out of the question."

It was not the best scenario, but he could handle it.

Sasuke ignored the man's endless screams and opened his suitcases to check their contents and smiled at the result.

Definitely a lucky encounter.

Looking at the dying man one last time, Sasuke was sure he would survive. Seriously considering whether to finish the job, but he remembered himself in a recent moment.

"Maybe he changes after a near-death experience." Sasuke left him to his own luck. It wasn't as if a weakling like that could cause him problems in the future.

Roman did not believe in superstitions, but at this point, he wanted some of them to be real. To see life passing before his eyes would be one of them, at least so he could review some pairs of breasts while waiting for the end. However, it looked like he had some sins to pay, so no breasts. All there was in his vision was endless darkness, engulfing his body in a sea of pain and torture. He felt as if needles were piercing him from all sides, draining his blood. He felt weak at the moment, then strong at the other. Sweating cold and shivering in the hot, and so it was with incessant pain.

For what seemed like an eternity, Roman regretted the desire to live, almost begging that monster to end its misery.

When despair seemed to take hold of him forever, everything stopped.

"W-what?!" He jumped to his feet, breathing hard and sweat drenching him with tremors. "What the hell was that all about?!"

Roman saw the fallen White Fang members, proving that everything had been as real as he didn't want it to be.

"Shit…" He fell sitting down, running his hand over his face trying to calm himself. "Seriously, who the hell was that guy?"

Was a man, his voice and physique were undeniable evidence. Roman knew the female aspect too well to be mistaken.

More important, he was not dead. His eyes stopped on the useless Faunus without any suitcases.

"Great, at least they will say that I set all this shit up." It didn't matter if he did it or not, these guys would report that it was his fault, so they would free their face for that failure. "I should kill them, but I'm happy to continue living."

The real problem was that he was going to have to do the job for them at half the price.

"All that monster's fault." Roman clenched his teeth, the shaking came back hard under the memory of a red star.

How long had it been since the last time he felt so weak and imposing in front of someone?

Not even Cinder could overcome him like that.

"That son of a…" Roman punched the wall by his side, frustration getting the best of him. The sound of breaking concrete brought him back to reality. Imagining that the wall he had been buried in was too compromised to be striking casually.

Roman jumped to get away from collapse but found himself meters from the ground, confusion taking over him before he came face to face with the building on the other side of the alley and plummeted back.

"What the hell was that now?!" he got up cursing and looked around, even more, confused than before.

The wall where he leaned was whole, because it belonged to a different building, except for a hole bigger than himself where he had punched.

"Okay, that's weird." Roman was not weak, or he didn't think so, but he wasn't that strong either. That wall was from an abandoned factory, made of concrete exactly to be resistant. "And what was that jump?"

Looking up, he was not dreaming, because the mark of his body was visible, stamped on the wall as if it were the outline of a crime scene.

Things were not making sense.

"Okay, I need a cigar…" Roman lit one and swallowed to the content of his heart and when he exhaled, it was like blowing up a smoke grenade, taking over the whole alley. "Fuck! What the hell is going on here?!"

With a hasty movement of his hand to fan the smoke, his obstructed vision returned when the cloud opened for him.

"Wow!" He looked stunned, trying to understand what was happening there. Moving his hands again, the smoke followed, obeying and slowly taking on forms he had in mind. Soon, a smile formed to replace his growing concern.

This was until he noticed the smoke slowly and constantly coming out of his mouth.

"It was just what I needed, I became a walking chimney?!" He ruffled his hair in frustration. It was so crazy going on at the same time.

First, a guy almost kills him and takes his money, then he turns out to be ok out of nowhere. In fact, Roman hasn't felt that alive since a party watered by women and energy drinks with vodka. Then he breaks reinforced concrete like rotten wood and faces a wall three meters from the floor without trying.

"Stopping to think, I didn't even feel that." Looking at his hands and stroking his face, he felt no discomfort. Even though Aura protects from injury, it does not completely deny the feeling from a good blow. "Who knew, my encounter with Death came showered with gifts."

Concentrating on the smoke, Roman managed to disperse it completely, including the one that exuded in his mouth.

"Semblance." He smiled when he understood what was happening. "I finally discovered my damn Semblance!"

Roman was elated. He had heard about it before. About the manifestation of Semblances in situations of emotional stress.

"Ha, ha! Good, very good!" Ronan laughed heartily, collecting his hat and Melodic Cudgel, taking the opportunity to light a new cigar to test more about this skill. "I hope those Junior's men at least serve to carry dust. Because today, I'm going to do some damage!"

If he was alive, he had to enjoy it, didn't he?

I only watched RWBY once and most of my knowledge about the series comes from fanfics, so I'm using the wiki for more information. But tips are welcome too.

About Roman/White Fang encounter, although this happens a little before Red, it has no relation with each other. It's an outside job or a plot convenience if you prefer.

Until the next chapter, o/
