AN: It's really cool to 200 readers after only one day! But, reviews like "dear god" and "lol wat" are not constructive criticism! I'm going to put this chapter through spell check before posting so there will be fewer mistakes and make it longer too.
I spun around and saw a boy in a red costume. He was floating in the air! "But I'm helping!" I yelled angrily but he threw me away from Dennis! Suddenly he started to glow and I felt warm again. Then I started floating too. I flew at him and hit him with my hook arm and sent him flying away. I tried to go to Dennis, but a man in blue armor dropped in between us! He swung his halberd at me and it turned into a grappling hook and tied me up. He looked at my hook arm and the fact that I was floating. "You should go to JAIL for attacking Aegis. But with a power like that I'll let you join the Wards instead." "What are the Wards?" I said confusedly. "Wow, you're dumb." said Aegis meanly.
Then Armsmaster and him explained about capes and stuff and we went to the Wards headquarters. Shadow Stalker and Vista were there. Shadow Stalker said "Looks like PREY" and stalked off but Vista was nice. "This is your new teammate." said Armsmaster. "She's a trump, so make sure she gets to copy all your powers." Then he left. When Dennis woke up I told him everything. "Wow Emily, I don't know what I would have done if you weren't there!"
Since I was still under 18 I had to go to school. Dennis said I could go to Arcadia High School with him! We did a bunch of paperwork and Aegis took it too turn in to the school. Then Dennis and I played Mario Kart and I went to sleep. They gave me a bedroom in the Wards head quarters since I didn't have anywhere to live.
The next day, I flew to school. When I got there though, something was wrong. The sign above the school said... Winslow High School! How could this happen? Then I remembered I'd given the papers to Aegis and how he'd called me a slut when he saw me with Dennis. I gasped! Aegis had a crush on Dennis! And he was trying to keep me away from him! I was angry but I couldn't do anything so I walked into the school.
Winslow sucked... big time! Everyone I saw had gang armbands on and all the teachers were mean. I couldn't go to the bathroom because people were selling meth and cocaine in all the stalls. At lunch I couldn't find a place to sit so I just sort of walked around. Then I saw three girls kicking another girl and laughing. I gasped! One of them was glowing and I recognized it... it was... Shadow Stalker! I walked up and glared at her. "What the fuck bitch" I said. "What do you want?" the red haired leader of the girls said rudely. "You know what I mean" I said to Shadow Stalker. She flipped me off and left and her friends follower. "Its okay", I said to the girl comfortingly"They're assholes." "Thanks" she said wiping away tears "I'm Taylor". We sat down to eat lunch together. But then... Taylor started to glow! She was a cape! Suddenly I could sense all the bugs around me! I gasped! "Hey" I said seriously "You should really come with me. Like now" "Why?' said Taylor. I made a bug crawl on my hand. Taylor saw it and gasped. She looked at me in the eyes. "Okay, lets go.".
