That Thing Couples Do (bonus bits!)
Just a couple of extra little bits I thought of but didn't end up working into the story. It's just a little bit of Jackie's view of things. (yes, these are canon within the fic) Enjoy!
Okay, what do you wanna do? We could go to Britta's, or hang at the mall.
Jackie looked at Marco's text and instantly began typing that they could go to Britta's, and then see what happens from there.
But a thought crossed her mind, making her hesitate before hitting the send button.
What if… I asked him over?
She knew full well that her parents were going to be out until very late in the evening. If she brought him home, they would be alone. And if they were alone, they might have a chance to… 'push their relationship forward.' She blushed a little bit at the thought, and began chewing on the side of her lip. She looked up at her skating crew. Out of the 7, only three of them were virgins, including Jackie. She watched as they dipped down the lip of the bowl one by one, before flying up, holding their boards. She remembered when the topic came up one time while they were out for pizza. Drew was an absolute horndog, but they already knew that. They managed to shut him down before he could dive into detail about his numerous sexual exploits. Tyler told a dramatic, but still somehow genuine story, about how he met a girl at a camp over the summer, they fell for each other, and after 4 months of dating, they decided to move their relationship to the next level. Jonah and Sherry didn't give any details, but when they were asked about their activity, they just looked at each other and smiled devilishly. Jeremiah said he had done it before, but quickly admitted that was a lie under the pressure of the disbelief from the rest of the crew. When they asked Shauna, she just closed her eyes and shook her head. "I want my first time to be special," she had said. "I'm waiting for the right person."
And then, when it was Jackie's turn, she just shrugged. "I haven't really thought about it."
Drew pointed at her accusationally. "I don't buy it! How long have you and Marco been dating for?"
Jackie rolled her eyes. "It's just been a few months, Drew, calm down."
"So, you've never thought about doing it with Marco?" Sherry asked incredulously.
Jackie paused. "I dunno, I've just never really thought about him that way before."
The group looked amongst each other, with thinly veiled concern.
Jeremiah laughed. "Well I suppose NOW you're thinking about it."
Jackie laughed as well. "Of course I am, idiot. I just don't know." She looked around. "What do you guys think?"
Drew instantly leaned forward, and threw a single finger in the air. "Ah, the eternal question. Why should we have sex?" Everybody groaned and slumped down, ready for another melodramatic speil. "We are animals, are we not? Our most basic function as living organisms is to reproduce and carry on our genes. Sex is a genetics fueled, carnal desire. To have sex is to dip your toe into the waters of our ancestry, to back to the time when we were animals. It is liberation from modern society and 'human' expectations."
Danny put his hand up. "Teacher?"
"Yes, student?"
"Can you shut up?"
Everyone at the table broke into laughter. Drew just turned his head and scoffed. "You just don't understand my genius."
Shauna laughed out loud at this. "Try showing that genius in the classroom then."
After more laughing, Danny waved his hand, he had something to say. "Jackie." He said level headedly. "If done right, sex can be a connection between two people." Jonah and Sherry nodded vigorously at this. "It is one of the truest displays of trust you can put in a person who means a lot to you. If he makes you happy, and you make him happy, then having sex can be an awesome way to deepen your relationship."
Shauna cut in, "But remember, it's ALWAYS your choice. Don't let him pressure you into anything, and don't pressure him into anything."
Drew huffed. "If he's a teenage boy, it wouldn't take more than a single word to have him hop in bed with ya."
"Shut up, Drew," Jackie said, laughing. "But Shauna, he isn't the type of guy to pressure me into anything, I can promise you that."
"The moral of the story," Danny cut in. "Is that if you want to do it, and you think it would deepen your relationship, do it. Just like pretty much everything else in life."
Jackie smiled. "Thanks guys, that really puts me at ease."
Jackie snapped out of the flashback, and looked back at her phone. She wanted to make him happy, and she was pretty sure he wanted to make her happy. So, what's the harm? She began to type.
Wanna hang at my place?

The moment Jackie closed the bathroom door, her confident facade crumbled. She leaned back against the door, letting out the breath she'd been holding the entire walk to the bathroom. Holy shit. She thought. Did I just do that?
She knew that this is what she planned, but nonetheless, it was nerve racking. She had never been forward like this to anyone, or even approached anyone with intentions like that. She walked towards the mirror and put her hands on the marble counter, looking at her reflection.
Maybe this wasn't such a good idea. She closed her eyes. I should just go back in there and suggest we watch a movie or something. She looked in the mirror again, and she noticed the sweat stains in her armpits. Well, I suppose I do need a shower first. I can at least do that much.
Jackie turned around and began to undress. As she stipped off her clothing, she unexpectedly imagined what it would be like to strip like that for Marco. She blushed deep and red, shaking her head to banish the thought while finishing taking off her clothes.
She stepped into the shower and turned it on. Before stepping into the stream, she took several deep breaths, breathing in for 5 seconds, holding it for 7, and breathing out for 8. She stepped into the steamy water and let it wash over her. As she was scrubbing her body wash, she felt the warmth of the water seep into her body, washing away all of the tension in her muscles. She felt her worries seep out of her, down her body, and into the drain. She turned to the shower and smiled into the stream.
I think… I should just go with the flow. I have no idea how he's feeling right now, and I think when I walk in, I'll make a decision.
As the last of her conditioner ran down the drain, she turned off the shower and slid back the glass door. She stepped out, but then froze. She looked around the bathroom. Her clothes from before were sitting on the floor. As her eyes darted back and forth, the only fabric she saw were her old clothes and towels.
I forgot to bring clothes with me. She realized.
She took inventory of her options. She could put on her sweaty, nasty clothes again. Or she could just wrap up in a towel and walk back to her room. Knowing the implications of walking in like that while Marco was in there, she let out a small chuckle.
I guess I've made my decision then.
She grabbed a towel and wrapped herself in it. She looked into the steamy mirror, to see how she looked. She pondered for a moment, then pulled the towel slightly down, so that more of her bust was visible. One more look, and she winked at herself. You go girl.
She picked up her dirty clothes and opened the door. She walked down the hall to her door, which was just slightly cracked. She peeked in, and saw Marco looking at her dresser, with her picture mirror. She saw a warm smile cross his face, and she instantly knew what she wanted to do.
I want to make him happy. She very confidently stepped back, grabbed the door knob, and swung the door open.

Marco was snoring quietly but soundly on Jackie's shoulder. She could barely hear it through the movie playing in front of them, but she could very clearly feel the movement of his chest as he breathed in and out.
But while he was asleep, Jackie was wide awake, lost in her mind. All she could think about was the events that had transpired in the last two hours. From the skate park, to home, to Marco, and then to her bed. She thought back on what they had done, and she could almost feel him inside her again.
But then something rose up, almost a feeling of… discontent. Yes it felt good, god it felt REALLY good, but there was something that just… didn't feel right.
Then a dreadfully familiar feeling rose inside her.
No!
She pushed it back down, not letting it gain any ground in her mind. Every time she was with a guy, every time she started to fall for them, that feeling rose up and shook her, scared her.
No, not this time. Not Marco.
She looked down at him, eyes closed, sleeping peacefully. Warmth slowly returned to her chest as she looked at his face. I want to make him happy. And I did. Jackie soothed herself.
Because that's what love is.
Right?
Hey guys, thefuzstache here. I forgot to add an author's note on the last chapter, so I'm tacking it on here.
First of all, thanks so much for reading. This is my first fanfic, even though fanfiction has been a thing I've wanted to do for a long time.
Second of all, let's talk upload schedule. Please have zero expectations for uploads. In the middle of this quarantine, I'm trying to get ready for college auditions, and I'm also lazy, so schedule will likely be incredibly sporadic.
Third, let's talk this story. I have a fairly solid story board in mind, as well as a lot of ideas to make it happen. I'm also sort of planning on tying this whole thing in to a bigger story involving another fic, that's going to include a Gravity Falls crossover. So sorry if you want anything specific, there's a high chance you won't see it. However, if I get enough requests, I may make another fic that's pure smut. I've already gotten a request for some of the lesser addressed pairings, so if you guys want anything, shoot me a DM and I'll start brainstorming.
Again, thanks for reading, I'll see y'all later.
