Hello hello and welcome back to Something we share, chapter 2. As usual i do not own any of the characters, (i get tired of writing that all the time) and i am open to any suggestions, criticism and ideas. I also take requests, there may be a wait on requests.

"We found something," Shining said as both cadence and twilight finished their ritual of welcoming.
"What do you mean found something?" Twilight asked getting back onto her hooves. Shining armor and cadence glanced at each other before turning and leading the group into the castle.
"What I mean when I said we found something, I meant we found a groundbreaking discovery that shakes the foundation of equestria" Shining huffed sarcastically before throwing Twilight one of his million dollar smiles.
"Alright alright i get it, it's something you can't say in public, but what is it?" The purple unicorn pushed, trying to pry information out of Shining was like trying to break into the castle library. Which she had done, once.
As soon as the doors closed behind them both cadence and shining armor turned to look at the mares… (+1 dragon)
"We found something we believe was left by king sombra, something from before his rule… we haven't been able to get to it but me and cadence both believe you can" Shining said putting a hoof upon Twilight's shoulder, flurry heart cooed in agreement as she stared at a reflection of herself on the floor.
Twilight nodded and looked around the room, "so where is this thing i'm supposed to be looking for?" cadence coughed and pointed at the crystal throne. Not that long ago Twilight and her friends had saved the crystal empire (spike did) but it had taken a while to find where the dreadful king had hidden the crystal heart. Forced to use dark magic Twilight had found the crystal heart but also a dark staircase leading to below the empire and it's castle. Now it appeared Twilight was destined to go down there again.
"Now wait here girls, I don't know if there's anything down there now that the empires no longer sombra's, so i'm going to go down first" the unicorn said looking at all her friends.
"No you aint, we're all goin to go with yah" applejack huffed putting a hoof on twilight's shoulder.
"Yah you're not getting all the glory" rainbow nodded flying a little above their heads, "silly billy were all going" the excited pink mare started bouncing off the walls again.
"Honestly dear i don't know why you wouldn't want us with you" rarity said, fluttershy remained quiet but walked forward and nodded.
"Alright fine but give me some room to cast the spell, i don't want you guys getting hurt." twilight focused searching deep inside of herself for the element of dark magic, she could feel it roiling inside her, waiting to burst forth. Twilight allowed a trickle of the magic out, but even that trickle came out as a roar. Dark magic burst out of her horn and struck the center crystal that sat upon the throne, a long shadow grew from it until a dark staircase appeared leading down into the darkness.
Twilight quickly shut off the flow of magic but doing so caused pain to flare up in her head. Pushing past the pain, the mare trotted to the newly formed staircase.
"CANNON BALL!" Pinkie screamed jumping straight into the dark abyss of the staircase.
"Pinkie!" everyone yelled before looking straight over the edge to see the pink mare fading from them into distance.
"Welp she's dead…" rainbow sighed before relaxing on a cloud she had grabbed.
"Rainbow dash, she's not dead until i say so!" applejack growled before grabbing rainbows tail and jumping after pinkie. Rainbow let out a cry of surprise before she too disappeared into the staircase.
"What's with everyone jumping?" Spike asked, twilight shrugged but jumped in as well, darkness whipped around her but it was soon gone as the mare lit her horn and slowed her dissent with a quick levitation spell.
It wasn't long before her hooves met stone, with a quick burst of magic torches lit all across the room.
"Twilight the fall was so fun, can we do it again?" Pinke asked, peeling herself off of the floor. twilight , applejack, and rainbow dash all looked at the pony strangely.
"HEY WRITER, can we do it again?" pinkie asked.
"What is she doing?" applejack asked. At that moment the entire universe froze as the pony known as pinkie pie broke the fourth wall.
"Um… you do know you're not supposed to do that right?" - Wolf
"Well I want to know the future, tell me!" - pinkie
"Fine, your future holds a 50% chance of happiness, now i'm closing this rip you put in the space time continuum" - wolf
The universe continues.
Twilight walked over to pinkie who was staring off into space, "um maybe you guys should wait here with um… statue pinkie" twilight said, poking the pink mare.
With quick nods from her friends, twilight turned towards the door she had opened her last visit here. But something confused her, this wasn't the same door. The old door had been made of dark crystalline materials, this one was made of wood and metal.
Twilight slowly pushed open the door to find a well kept room, there was a bed in the corner and bookshelf right beside it. But what caught her attention was the desk across from her. Trotting forward twilight slowly reached out with her hoof and lifted the first book towards her.
"The journal of Sombra, a dark follower" she read, somrbra had written this? She didn't think he could even write. Shrugging she opened it to the final entry.
"The light is coming, just as the dark had told me… I'm so tired of fighting, I wish for rest. But as the dark has told me I may not rest yet. But thankfully with mercy he has told me who my salvation is, a violet mare shall lift the madness soon to be set upon me. Oh i wish to thank this mare but only i must wait several more hundreds of years before such a chance shall be given to me. I can feel the lights magic breaking down my door. I must go. In the darks light may I find salvation."
Twilight heard a creek behind her, and slowly turned towards the noise. Behind her in the doorway stood the stallion that had written this book.
"Spinach puff?" sombra asked, lifting a tray.
