After watching his father try and fail in becoming the next King of Duels, he wanted to surpass him. He wanted to become the next King of Duels in his father's place. But life isn't easy like that, because he has a lot of people to contend against. Luckily for him he has his trusty Rescue Rabbit by his side... That's gotta count for something right? No? Yeah I didn't think so.
Chapter 2: Beacon Academy
Somewhere high in the clouds...
Jaune is a lover not a fighter. He loves his sisters. He loves his parent. He loves dueling. Nothing ever really bothers him... Well aside from three things.
The first ones are scumbag duelist that pilot Mystic Mine decks. Why did Pegasus make that card again? A card that says no to interactive play needs to get banned.
Secondly are scumbag duelist that pilot Burn decks. While their not as annoying as Mystic Mine players, their still frickin annoying.
Then lastly Airships. Not decks that are based on airships. Actual real life airships. Why? Its because...
"Bluaaagh!"
Jaune Arc, the only son of the prestigious Arc family. A family that has greatness running through their veins. Well he gets terrible motion sickness when riding airships. A sad yet funny achilles heel.
'Why do we use airships and why not by boat.' Jaune thought as he was contemplating his life choices. 'If they ever do a another battle city. I'm certainly not go-.' His thoughts were interrupted by...
"Bluaagh!"
...more vommiting.
"I knew shouldn't have eaten that chili dog." The young man was having a horrible day. "God I hate the taste of vomit."
While Jaune was busy emptying the contents of his stomach in the the men's room...
"Look Yang look! I can see Patch from here!"
A girl with silver eyes was currently gushing at sights that she was seeing.
"Easy there Ruby..." The girl that was trying to calm down Ruby was her older sister Yang. She had blonde hair and a bombshell of a figure. Many men and few a women have tried to woo her but every last one of those who attempted failed miserably. "...you might fall over if you keep moving like that."
"Don't worry sis, I'll be fine-Ack!"
She wasn't fine. The airship suddenly hit a turbulence. And that in turn caused the young girl to fall onto her butt.
"Ouch." Ruby winced while she was rubing her sore butt.
"See, I knew this would happen." Yang stated in a exasperated tone. "Here, lets get you up."
Yang held out her to help her sister. Ruby gladly accepted the help.
"I'm sorry Yang its just..." Ruby was twiddling her fingers while having a pout on her face. It was adorable. " It's just that... I'm so excited..."
"Aww... I can't stay mad at you Rubes!" Yang seeing how cute her sister is. Decided to glomped Ruby. "Why are you so adorable sis."
Ruby as of now was getting crushed by Yang's enormous chest.
"Sis... can't... breath." Ruby struggled to say those words as her vision was slowly fading to black.
"Oops! My bad Rubes." Yang stated as she pinched Ruby's cheeks. "Your just too adorable for you own good."
"Stop it! I'm not a kid anymore!" Ruby flailed around as to try and get her sister off her.
"Okay I'll stop. Just enough with the flailing." Yang stated while trying to stop her sisters attack.
"Good." Ruby puffed her chest proudly as if she accomplished something monumental. "But you've been awfully clingy recently sis. You acting like mom. Why is that?" Ruby asked.
"Well... Mom asked me to take care of you. And also, it's just that I'm so proud of you Rubes." Yang smiled at her sister. "Your the youngest student ever in Beacon Academy. You're special."
The girl with silver eyes got embarrassed. "But I'm no one special." Ruby said meekly. "I'm just regular Ruby."
"Awww... Look at you being all modest and shy." Yang went in for another hug.
"Can't... breath... Yang..."
Moments later, Beacon Academy...
As soon as the airship landed, Jaune made it his first priority to leave said airship and make his way towards opening ceremony. He didn't want to be near the airship. He didn't to see the airship.
"I'm finally off that blasted machine." Jaune whispered to himself. "But man..." He then looked towards the tower in front of him. "This place is really something else." Beacon Academy was huge. It was even bigger than buildings in Vale. But as he was busy admiring the said tower.
"Move it." He was pushed aside by a massive figure much that was much taller than him. The man that pushed him had orange hair and had arrogant feel to him. It was intimidating to the young Arc.
"You want to start something?" The large man asked threateningly.
"Chill dude." Jaune held up his hands in denial. "I'm a man of peace not war. I'm not herebto fight."
"Tch." The man left with a scoff. Leaving alone a slightly panicking Jaune. "That was close." The young man stated whilst trying to calm down his breathing.
He didn't want to start fight with the guy seeing that he was way smaller than him. He didn't want get beat up this early in the school year. His younger sister would make fun of him if that ever happened.
"So guys like that exist even here at Beacon." Jaune muttered. "Welp, time to find out where the openi-
The blonde man's muttering was interrupted by a loud and shrill voice.
"You brat! Do you know how expensive these cards are!" An all to familiar voice entered Jaune's ear. "These are Number monster! One of a kind rare cards that a brat like you could never have!"
'She's here too? First that guy and now her. This day just keeps on getting worst.' Jaune thought solemnly.
Jaune decided to go to source of the screaming. He didn't want to, but...
"Better now than never." He mused.
As soon he got closer, he saw her. Weiss Schnee, a girl he knew since childhood. And right next to her was a girl he also recognized. "If I'm remembering this correctly, she's the one who beat Oobleck." Jaune said as he stared at her. "And now she's being targeted by ice queens tirade." Jaune added. "Time to save her then."
Jaune approached the two girls with laid back posture. He didn't to appear threateningly.
"Hey snow angel, it's been a while." Jaune mused as he approached the girls. The silver eyes girl and the heiress both turned their head towards the lax looking Arc.
"It seems that you're st-GUAH!" But as soon as he reach them he was slapped by the heiress.
"Eek!" The silver-eyed jumped back a little due to the sudden slap.
The young man was able to recover quickly. "Okay." Jaune stated whilst rubbing his sore cheek. "I deserved that. But really snow angel, is that how you greet your friends."
"I don't recall being friends with you Arc!" The heiress answered venomously. "It's bad enough that this dunce!" She pointed at the girl with silver eyes. "Knocked over my belongings. And now your here polluting my vision germ!
"Wow Weiss. I'm hurt." Jaune replied nonchalantly. "Do you really see me as some germ that needs to be destroyed?"
"If you don't leave, I'll sick my bodyguards at you." Jaune looked around his surroundings and saw some men in black hiding around them. Some were hiding inside bushes while other where hiding behind trees. He started to sweat a little.
"Fine I'll leave..." Jaune mused. "...if you'll forgive this girl here." Jaune said whilst gesturing at the confused silver-eyed girl.
"So that's your game. Fine, I'll forgive the dunce. But both you better leave my sight right now." Weiss said venomously.
"Okay snow angel, chill." Jaune held up his arms as if to surrender. After that he turned his attention towards the younger girl. "You heard the lady, let's move." Jaune grabbed hold of the silver-eyed girls hand and draged her her along with him.
Ruby wasn't used to this. The only people she's ever held hands with were her parents and her older sister. This was very embarrassing for her.
"U-Um.." She was stuttering. She thought this would have continued on longer, but as soon as they were no longer the in the vision Weiss. Jaune removes his grip.
"Whew, that could have gone better." The man stated. "She's more crabbier than ever. Well I'm partly to blame for that." He mused.
While Jaune was talking to himself, Ruby was finally able to muster up some courage to speak. "U-Umm, thank you for saving me!" The girl bows her head. She was really grateful for the help. "Also my name is Ruby! Please be my friend!" Ruby held out her hand waiting for Jaune to shake it.
"..."
"..."
There was a long pause and it was awkward. "Your not going to accept it, are you?" Ruby asked while trying to hold in her tears of embarrassment.
"No, no." Jaune denied. "I was just caught off guard." Jaune smiled while rubbing the back of his head. "Sure, why not. We can be friends." The young Arc answered nonchalantly while shaking Ruby's outstretched hand.
"Really! Yay! Take that Yang!" Ruby started punching the air in excitement.
"You sure are energetic." Jaune smirked. "But seriously, why was Weiss picking a fight with you?" Asked the young man.
"Well..." Ruby then went on to tell the story on how her sister -Yang- left her alone because she wanted Ruby to find herself a friend. Moments after her sister left, she accidentally ran into Weiss and the rest was well... full of shouting and berating.
"Hey, everything happens for a reason." Jaune mused while he was shrugging his shoulders nonchalantly. "Heck, if that didn't happen. You wouldn't have met me." Jaune was pointing his thumb towards himself.
Ruby stared at Jaune for a moment, before finally nodding. "Yeah! Your right! I'm glad that happened." Ruby smiled. "But Jaune..." Ruby formed a questioning look. "...what's your relationship with that crabby rich girl."
Jaune turned his eye away from Ruby. "Well... How do I explain this..?" Jaune said while rubbing the back of his head. "We used to be friends in the past. But circumstances, led us to become somewhat estranged." Jaune tried his best not to look uncomfortable.
Ruby noticed this and decided to let it go. "You don't have to tell me if you don't want to." Ruby waved her hands around to stop Jaune from saying more.
"Thanks." Jaune smiled at the younger girl. "Well now that we got to know each other better. Why don't we head towards the opening ceremony?"
Ruby nodded. "While we're heading there Jaune..." Ruby cheeks started to redden as she was twiddling her fingers. "...can I see your deck?"
Jaune smiled and nodded as he showed Ruby his deck.
At the Opening Ceremony...
"I can't believe I didn't recognize you!" Ruby exclaimed. "You were the guy at the evaluation that almost beat professor Glynda!"
"So you only recognized me because of my deck?" Jaune asked.
"Ehehe... Sorry, I was mainly focusing on your monsters during that duel." Ruby replied in embarrassment. "I'm a nerd when it comes to dueling."
"No worries, I have pretty average face. So I tend to get forgotten." Jaune stated dismissively. "I'm used to it by now."
As the two we're busy talking to each other.
"Hey sis! Over here!" Ruby's sister called out to her. "I saved you a seat!"
"Okay! I'll be right there!" Ruby replied happily. "That's my cue. See you later Jaune! Oh! I almost forgot. Here's scroll my number." After exchanging their numbers, the girl with silver eyes smiled and waved at the young man before heading to her sisters location.
This left the young man without someone to talk to. "Well... I'm alone again." Jaune muttered. "Time to find myself a seat then."
After a couple minutes of searching. Jaune was able to find an empty seat. It was near the end of the room. 'A perfect place for loners' Jaune thought. 'Sadly, being a loner isn't my style. But I'll take what I can have.'
And as he got closer to the seat. He saw two girls there. The first one was pale and had black hair. She had this mysterious vibe about her. The second girl had a darker skin tone and had Auburn colored hair. She also had freckle
Jaune decided to ask them a question. "Is this seat taken?" The young man pointed at the empty seat.
"No." Was the blunt reply of pale girl. This caused Jaune to pause for a moment.
"..."
"Sorry about her." The girl with the freckles smiled and apologized to Jaune. "That's just how my friend is. Here take a seat." The girl patted the empty seat right next to her.
Jaune nodded and replied. "Uh, sure." The male took the seat right next the girl with freckles.
And as soon as he took the seat. A man with silver hair started walking in the stag. He wore a suit that made him look professional. He took a mic then started to talk.
"Welcome to you all. My name is Ozpin. The headmaster of Beacon Academy" The man introduced himself. "The students of Beacon Academy is divided into three dorms." Ozpin explained.
"The first is Slifer Red." Ozpin motioned to the green haired man at the far left side of the stage. "It will be led by Professor Bartholomew Oobleck."
"The second is Ra Yellow." Ozpin motioned to the old man right next to Oobleck. Said old man had grey hair plus a grey mustache. "It will be led by Peter Port."
"Then third and last of the dorms is Obelisk Blue." Ozpin motioned to woman standing right next to him. "It will be led by Glynda Goodwitch."
Jaune smiled when heard the names. 'Their basing it off the Egyptian God's.' Jaune thought. "Awesome..." Jaune whispered to himself.
Ozpin then continued on with his explanation. "The dorm that you go to will be determined by how well you did in the evaluation." Ozpin added. "Obelisk are for the best of the best. Ra is for the middle of the pack. Then lastly, Slifer is for those who just barely passed the evaluation."
Ozpin raised a scroll then pressed it.
Suddenly the room was filled with different types of ring tones. "I have sent your scroll's with messages that will tell you what dorm you are placed in."
Jaune opened his scroll and it showed him the color red. He raised an eyebrow when he saw this. "So I'm at the bottom of the pecking order." Jaune muttered. 'I though that I did better in the evaluation.'
"My color is yellow Blake, what about yours? The girl with freckles asked the girl with the bow.
The newly named Blake smiled. "Yellow, the same as you Ilia." Was her reply.
"Now that you have been given you colors." Ozpin explained. "Follow your respective leaders. They will lead you to your respective dorms."
"All of the Obelisk Blue students follow me." Glynda stated as she left the stage. Jaune saw that Ruby, her sister, and Weiss were all Obelisk Blue's. 'Good for you Ruby.' Jaune thought.
"Follow me my dear Ra Yellow's." Port says twirls his mustache. The girl by that were near him. Blake and Ilia follow the old man.
"Okay, all of the Slifer Red's this way." Professor Oobleck stated.
Jaune and the rest of the Slifer Reds stood up and followed the Green haired man.
'It could be worst.' Jaune thought.
Sometime later...
In front of the students was a shody looking building. It's roof was color red and its wall were beige. It had three floors and a dueling field right next to it.
And as they were staring at building, Oobleck spoke. "Each room will have two students. So be sure to find yourself a proper roommate." The man with green hair explain.
Jaune wanted a decent roommate. So he looked around and saw a boy with a short stature. He had black hair, tanned skin, and had green colored eyes.
He had a meek appearance so Jaune decided on him. "Hey man, do you want to be roommates?"
The meek looking boy was in disbelief. "Me? Are you sure?" The boy asked.
Jaune nodded. "You seem decent enough." Jaune answered hole shrugging his shoulders. "So what do you say?" The blonde asked.
The boy smiled and nodded. "Of course, my name is Oscar Pine! I was Soo worried that no one would want to room with me." Was the newly named Oscar answered.
Jaune smiled at Oscar. "Don't sell yourself short." Jaune then did a overly dramatic pose. "Also my name Jaune Arc, the next King of Duels."
Oscar laugh at Jaune's goofiness.
Hour later...
After Jaune an Oscar finished unpacking. The decided to head towards the Slifer's dining hall because their dorm leader Oobleck called for them.
As the duo entered they saw that Professor Oobleck getting ready for a speech.
Seeing this Jaune and Oscar decided to sit down and listen to what the man is about say.
"I would like personally welcome you all of you freshmen here." Oobleck raised his mug that was full of coffee. "While our dorm is not as fancy as the other two. I do hope that you'll come to love it by the ends of the school year."
Oobleck then snaps his finger. What followed after was a cute girl that was pushing a large table(with wheels). Said table had a selection of foods that you could only see at those all you can restaurants.
"Enjoy your meals." Oobleck mused.
Jaune licked his lips as he eyes stared at the food hungrily. "Yo Oscar, let's grab some food."
Oscar nodded and followed suite. "Okay." Oscar stated.
Jaune chose a combination of beef and pork. While his roommate decided on a balanced meal. After they picked their respective meals they both sat down and started eating.
"Jaune, can I ask you a question?" Oscar asked the blonde male.
"Shoot away." Was Jaune's reply as he was busy shoveling in his meal.
Oscar scratches his check. "Sorry but are you perhaps related to Julius Arc?" The smaller boy asked.
Jaune swallows a huge piece of steak. "Yep, he's my old man." Jaune replied nonchalantly.
Oscar's got excited. "That's so cool!" The smaller boy exclaimed.
And as the two boys started to about the pro career of Jaune's father.
There were a pair of eyes staring at them. Those eyes belonged to the dorm leader of Slifer Red.
'Jaune Arc and Oscar Pine, two of the three freshmen that Ozpin was interested in.' The green haired professor thought. 'I get why Oscar is in Slifer. But why is Jaune here. With his skill he should be at the very least at Ra Yellow. Glynda even wanted him at her dorm.'
Oobleck then started to drink his coffee. 'Well it doesn't really matter at this point.' Oobleck formed a barely visible smile. 'In fact, I welcome this. With Jaune here, the Slifer Red may have a chance to win the Beacon Cup.'
The Slifer freshmen enjoyed their dinner that night.
The next day...
It was currently 8:05 AM. Jaune and Oscar overslept and we're running towards their designated class. The were currently putting on their red uniform as they were running.
Slifer's had color Red, Ra's had the color of Yellow, and lastly the Obelisk had the color Blue. But I digress.
Both Jaune and Oscar overslept because they decided to watch a classic duel between Jaune's father and Rex Goodwin, the former number 5 rank duelist in Remnant. Jaune's father at the time was the number 8 rank for those who are curious.
Jaune didn't want to watch at first. But Oscar begged his blonde roomate to watch with him. "This is all your fault Oscar!" Jaune exclaimed.
Oscar for his part felt pretty bad about it. "I'm sorry!" The smaller male apologized.
This cycle of constant blaming and apologizing continued until they finally reach their class.
Inside there was a angry looking female professor. "Your ten minutes late Mr. Arc and Mr. Pine." The one that greeted the two was Alexis Rhodes. Like the majority of the staff she was also former pro duelist. "Seeing that this is the first day of the school year I'll forgive both. But if this ever happens again, its detention for the both of you. "Alexis stated while glaring at the boys. "Now both of you find yourselves a seat."
As both of the two Slifer Red's looked for a place to sit. Jaune saw Ruby smiling and waving at him. He replied to her in kind. But as the saying goes. You'll have to take the good with the bad. Weiss was currently burning a hole through his head and a red head by her side was trying to calm her down. He also heard the mocking whispers of some of his fellow students, Oscar noticed it too.
"Typical Slifer's..."
"What's do you expect from a couple of losers that barely passed."
"Why do I have to share the same class with these idiots."
Oscar hearing all of this hung his head down. Their fellow Slifer's didn't come to their aid. They were most likely to afraid of the Ra's and Obelisk students.
"Oscar don't let these assholes bring you down." Jaune tried to cheer up his friend.
Oscar turned his attention to the blonde. "Your not bothered by any of this?"
Jaune smirked. "Not really. Because you see Oscar, side characters are not really worth our time. They're all talk but no bite." Jaune made sure that the other students heard that.
A large Ra Yellow student grabbed Jaune by the collar of his uniform. "You little punk. Who the hell are you calling a side character!?" The asked in a annoyed manner.
Jaune recognized the guy. He was the guy that shoved him yesterday. "Uh, you. Incase you haven't heard yet. I was referring to you and the rest of these assholes." Jaune stated while sporting an arrogant smirk.
The man raised his fist. He was getting ready to punch Jaune. "You little-"
"Mr. Winchester that's enough!" Alexis exclaimed. "And you to Mr. Arc stop provoking him!"
"Tch! Your lucky that she's here Slifer." The Ra Yellow let's go of Jaune.
As Cardin went back to his seat. Oscar came to check up on his friend. "Jaune are you okay." The smaller boy asked.
Juane nodded not leaving eye contact with the Ra Yellow. "Yeah I'm okay. But I felt like I was going to die there." The blonde haired Slifer muttered while sweating profusely. "Let's find a seat."
And as soon as he said that. "Jaune over here." A silver-eyed girl from a couple of rows above him called.
Jaune smiled at the girl and nodded. "It seems that we won't have to search anymore." Jaune mused. "Let's go Oscar."
The smaller boy nodded and followed him.
The two of them went up to where Ruby and her sister where. "Mornin Ruby." Jaune greeted the girl.
The silver eyed girl was about to reply but. "Hey there lady killer, the names Yang. I'm Ruby's older sister." Yang stated as she started to appraise Jaune. "So your the guy that Ruby's been gushing about."
Jaune smirked at Ruby. "Oh? Ruby's been gushing about me." Jaune teased the girl. This in turn caused the silver-eyed girls to look away as her face to reddens.
"Jaune." Oscar called out to Jaune.
Jaune eye widens. "Oh, almost forgot about you buddy. Ruby, Yang this is Oscar." Jaune explained while motioning to his roomate.
"No not that." Oscar panicked. "Look." He pointed at mildly annoyed Alexis Rhodes staring at their group. This caused Jaune to panic as well.
He then turn his head towards Ruby. "Let's catch-up later, alright?" Jaune stated.
Ruby in response smiled then nodded. "Okay."
After that Jaune and Oscar finally sat down next to Ruby and her sister.
Lunchtime, Beacon Academy's Garden...
The classes the they took went by pretty quickly. It was mostly about the the summoning methods, card rulings and such. Jaune pretty much slept through a bunch of them.
If your probably wondering why he wasn't caught well...
"Jaune how can you sleep with your eyes wide open?" Ruby asked her first male friend. "Can you teach me? Please? Please?"
"Yeah dude, I also want to learn." Ruby's sister Yang added her input.
Oscar being a goody to shoes, was totally against this. "I don't agree with this Jaune." Oscar stated. "This is the type of behavior that will get you detention."
"Aww, don't be such a stick in the mud Oscar." Yang then slaps the back of boy causing him to fall on the ground. "Oops, my bad." The blonde girl apologized.
"Well, I can't really teach you how to sleep that way." Jaune answered Ruby. "It just happens naturally."
Ruby in her disappointment slumps her shoulders. "Awwww."
"But anyways how does it feel to be an elite Obelisk Blue?" Jaune asked the young girl.
Ruby started to get embarrassed. "It doesn't really feel any different."
Jaune nodded. "That's good. I was starting to think that you'll be like your fellow dorm mates. I thought that you would join them in mocking me." Jaune joked, he really didn't mean what he said. But Ruby on the other hand took it seriously.
"No, no, no. I would never betray a friend!" Ruby exclaimed. "And beside, you should ha been an Obelisk Blue too..."
Jaune started to laugh. "Hahaha. You a kind girl Ruby." Jaune patted the head of the younger girl. She reminded him of his younger sisters.
Ruby was conflicted. While she hated being treated like a kid, she also didn't want Jaune to stop.
Yang saw this and decided to break them up. "Alright that's enough! No more flirting with my little sister!" Yang separated the two.
Ruby pouted when this happened.
Oscar nodded. "I agree with Yang." The smaller boy added. "And beside lunch is almost over. We need to eat before our next class."
Jaune nodded "Can't argue with logic." The blonde man stated. "Let's eat."
The group took out their lunches and started to eat. Jaune was disappointed that the feast last night was a once in a semester type of deal.
He really wanted to eat more of those delicious food. Instead he was stuck with a regular ham sandwich. Oscar was in the same boat as he was eating a regular egg sandwich.
"That's your food guys?" Yang asked while eating five star like meal.
Jaune and Oscar nodded whilst they were shoveling down their respective sandwiches. "We're Slifer's. This is type of food that they give us." Jaune explained.
"That's not good." Ruby stated. "Here Jaune have some of my cookies."
Jaune declined the younger girls offer. "Thanks Ruby. But sweets aren't exactly my thing. How about giving Oscar some."
"No thanks. Cookies aren't exactly healthy." Was the answer of the smaller boy.
Ruby pouted. How dare they not like cookies. The food of the gods. "Fine! More for me!" The younger girl exclaimed.
They all laughed at Ruby's childishness when it came to cookies.
Sometime Later, Dueling Class...
Dueling Class. It's the class where one student is paired with another to test their skills at dueling. The duels took place in a gymnasium. The one in charge of this class is Glynda Goodwitch.
Jaune and his friends are waiting from stands for their class to begin.
"Alright. Oscar Pine will go up against Weiss Schnee." Glynda stated. "Both of you enter the field."
The Schnee heiress smiles at this. While Oscar started to sweat profusely when he heard name called up. "Why am I in the opening duel." The smaller boy lamented.
Jaune hanged his arm on Oscar's shoulder. "Calm down bro. There's no need to panic." Jaune tried to encourage his friends. "Heck, I'll even give you some pointers on how to beat snow angel."
Oscar raised an eyebrow. "Snow angel?"
Jaune ignored the question and continued on with his advice. "She uses a Rikka deck. It's a Plant/WATER archetype that relies on tributing."
"How do you know all of this?" Oscar asked.
Jaune smirked. "Let's just say that I have a history with her." Jaune then slaps the back Oscar. "Knock em dead."
Oscar almost falls down but he was able to recompose himself. "Alright." Oscar muttered.
Oscar made his way down to the field. And as he was doing so...
"Beat him Weiss!"
"Show them why Obelisk Blue is the best!"
This didn't bode well for Oscar's confidence. He was starting to panic. But then...
"Calm down bro! Snow angel is just a pushover!" Jaune exclaimed.

Oscar smiled then took a deep breath. He then narrowed his eyes at his opponent. 'I can't let them down.' Oscar thought.

Weiss was getting annoyed at Jaune and his silver eyed friend.
The heiress gritted her teeth. 'Those doofuses! Do they not know that I can hear them!' The SDC heiress thought.
"Ms. Schnee and Mr. Pine are you both ready?" The former pro duelist Glynda asked.
Weiss nodded while glaring at Jaune and Ruby.
Oscar also nodded but his focus was on the heiress.
"Very well! Start the duel!" Glynda exclaimed.
"Duel!"

"I'll go first. If that's fine with you." Weiss stated.
Oscar nodded. "Okay."
Weiss turn...
Weiss looked at the cards at her hand then smirked. "I Normal Summon Rikka Petal!"
A cute fairy like monster manifested to the field. Said monster was floating atop of a white flower.

"I activate Petal's effect." Weiss stated. "I can take a Rikka card deck and add it to my hand!" Weiss takes a card from her deck. "I'll add Mudan the Rikka Fairy from deck to my hand."
'Jaune was right. A Plant/WATER deck.' Oscar thought. 'Which means...'
"I can tribute a Plant monster to Special Summon Peony from hand!" Weiss exclaimed. "Come Mudan the Rikka Fairy in defense position!"
A girl with hair buns appeared. She wore a short kimono and was holding a umbrella made out of ice.

"When Mudan is Special Summoned by a effect of a Plant-type monster..." The SDC heiress explained. "...I can add Snowflower card from my deck to my hand. Mudan is Plant-type herself so I'll add one Cyclamen the Rikka Fairy to my hand."
"Then I'll active my Continuous Spell Burden of the Mighty." Weiss stated. "After that I'll set card and end my turn."
Oscar's turn...
"Draw!" The young boy smile at card he drew.
"Kuri Kuri!"
"Okay! I activate Polymerization!" Oscar exclaimed. "With this I can Fusion Summon a monster."
Oscar revealed two cards in his hand. "I'll fuse Elemental HERO Heat and Elemental HERO Lady Heat!
Two heroes appeared. One was male and the other female. Both had the flame motif going for them.
They both nodded at each other before jumping into the air to fuse.
Oscar started to chant. "Hero of overwhelming flames! Burn my opponent's into nothing but ash! Fusion Summon! Elemental HERO Inferno!"
"Haah!" A large hero appeared. He had a costume made out flames and had gigantic gauntlets that are also made of fire.

Weiss suddenly points a her Continues Spell. "Burden of the Mighty reduces the ATK of monsters you control by 100 for each level that they have." The SDC heiress explained. "Your Inferno is a level eight. That means it will lose 800 ATK."

"It doesn't matter!" Oscar stated. "Inferno gains 1000 ATK if it battles a WATER monster. Inferno attack Mudan!" Oscar exclaimed. "Inferno Fist!"
Elemental HERO Inferno charges at Mudan with it's flaming fist.

Snowflower Sprite Mudan DEF 2400
Weiss smiled. "I active my Trap card!" Weiss exclaimed. "Waboku!"
A group of mages blocked the attack of Inferno with a holy barrier.
"Waboku prevents any of my monsters from being destroyed in battle." Weiss explained. "It also prevents me from taking any battle damage."
Elemental HERO Inferno ATK 2500 to 1500
Oscar nods. "I'll summon Winged Kuriboh in defense position."
A cute little furball with wings manifested.

"Burden of the Mighty reduces it's ATK by 100." Weiss stated.

Oscar stated. "Then after that I'll set a card and end my turn."
Weiss' turn...
'Arc must have told him about my deck. That's why he summon that fusion." The heiress thought before finally drawing a card.
"Draw!" The heiress stated. "I'll use Cyclamen the Rikka Fairy's effect to Tribute herself from my hand..."
A young looking girl appear right next to Weiss. The girl had Indigo colored hair. She wore a pink blouse and was holding what looked like a wand made out of ice.
"...and when that happens I can reduce the level of of Mudan by 2." Weiss explained. Cyclamen uses her magic on Peony before she finally disappeared.
Mudan the Rikka Fairy LVL 6 to 4
Oscar raised an eyebrow. "Reducing the level?" The young boy muttered.
Weiss smirks. "Now my preparation is complete." The heiress mused. "I Normal Summon Lord Poison."
An evil looking plant with multiple claws sprouting from its body manifested.
(Lord Poison/WATER/Level 4/Plant/Effect/ATK 1500/DEF 1000.)
'She now has two level fours.' Oscar thought. "Wait don't tell me..."
Weiss raised her hand up in the air. "I overlay my level 4 Lord Poison and level 4 Mudan the Rikka Fairy!" The Schnee heiress started to chant. "Heed my call! Freeze all my foes with your subzero ice! XYZ Summon! Come Number 103: Ragnazero!"
A female monster with red eyes and multiple ice blades appeared. Some of these blades were even sticking out from her back.

Oscar's eyes widened. "A number monster!" Oscar exclaimed.
In the Stands...
In the stands a ton of Obelisk blue started to cheer.
"Whoo! A number monster!"
"Beat down that Slifer Weiss! Show the power of the Obelisk Blue!"
Jaune was not amused with what he saw. "She has a new one..." Jaune stated. "...and it's a over one hundred number."
"Over one hundred..." Ruby stated. "...those are the extremely powerful ones right?" The silver eyed girl stated.
Jaune nodded. "Number monsters are rare..." The male blonde explained. "...but the over one hundred monsters are much rarer."
Ruby started to pout. "Yang, why didn't you tell me that your Number 105 was a super rare card?" The silver eyed girl asked.
Jaune raised an eyebrow when heard what Ruby said. "You have Number 105: Battlin' Boxer Star Cestus?" Jaune asked. "But that card belong to Tai...yang..."
Jaune palms his face for not noticing it earlier. Heck Yang even had the same hair color as Taiyang. "Your guy's dad is Taiyang Xialong." Jaune muttered.
Yang smiled. "Yup! Dad gave me his deck when he retired." Yang mused whilst puffing her chest proudly.
'That's why Ruby is so good at dueling.' Jaune thought. 'Well, let's focus on Oscar for now.'
Back to the duel...
Weiss smiled evilly "Once per turn. I can detach a overlay material to active Ragnazero's effect..."
Number 103: Ragnazero OVL 2 to 1
Weiss raises her hand points toward Elemental HERO Inferno. "...When a monster that my opponent controls has a different ATK from its original, I can dstroy it." Weiss explained. "Elemental HERO Inferno has a lower attack from its original! Guidance to Funeral!"
Ragnazero spun around like a top and charged at Elemental HERO Inferno.
"Guaah!"
"Inferno!" Oscar exclaimed.
Inferno's body was then sliced to bits thanks to Ragnazero's ice blades.
"When a monster is destroyed by Ragnazero's effect. I must draw a card." The heiress explained. "Also Ragnazero still hasn't attacked! Ragnazero attack his Winged Kuriboh! Subzero Cutter!" The heiress exclaimed.
Ragnazero slashed the face-down card and it showed a cute winged fluff ball.
"Kuri Kuri! Exclaimed Winged Kuriboh.
Number 103 Ragnazero ATK 2400
Winged Kuriboh DEF 200
Oscar was forced to guard himself from attacks shockwave. "Guh!"
Oscar frowns for a second. "I activate my Trap Card! Hero Signal!" Oscar exclaimed. "When a monster I control is destroyed by battle, I can Special Summon a level 4 or lower Elemental HERO monster from my deck!" The younger boy exclaimed. "I Special Summon Elemental HERO Stratos!"
A hero with blue skin manifested onto the field. He had a pair of mechanical wings that haves propellors.

"Burden of the Mighty reduces it's ATK." Weiss mused.

"When Stratos is Summoned." Oscar explained. "I can add a HERO monster from my deck to my hand." Oscar started to search his deck. "I'll add Elemental HERO Blazeman."
Weiss frowns. "I'll set a card then end my turn."
Oscar's turn...
Oscar closed his eyes. He was praying for the right card. "Draw!" Oscar opens his eyes and looked at his card. "Yes, I activate my Quick-play spell Mystical Space Typhoon!"
Mystical Space Typhoon is a card that can detroy a Spell or Trap on the field.
Oscar points at the SDC Heiresses Continues Spell. "I'll destroy your Burden of the Mighty!"
A gust of strong wing obliterates the Continues Spell. But at the same time.
"I'll chain Ragnazero's effect..." The heiress exclaims. "...to destroy your Stratos! Guidance to Funeral!"
Number 103: Ragnazero OVL 1 to 0
Ragnazero started to spin towards at the Stratos and when she was about to reached him.
"I activate my skill!" Oscar exclaimed. "Hero Swap! I'll return Stratos into my deck..."
Ragnazero just misses Stratos by hair. Weiss gritted her teeth when this happened.
"...and swap him with Elemental HERO Ocean!"
A aquatic looking hero appeared. He wore silver armor and had a silver staff.
"I'll follow that up by Normal Summoning Elemental HERO Blazeman!" Oscar explained. "And when Blazeman is summoned I can add 1 Polymerization from deck to my hand."
'He's going to do a Fusion Summon again.' The heiress thought.
"I'll use Polymerization to fuse Elemental HERO Ocean in field with Elemental HERO Woodsman in my hand." Oscar started another chant. "Overwhelm them with the power of the Terra! One the Legendary Planets! Fusion Summon! Come my ace monster, Elemental HERO Terra Firma!"
A gigantic monster that towered over Ragnazero appeared. His body was the color white. He also had different kind of jewels attached to him. Three blue jewels in his shoulders and head while one red jewel in center of his chest.

"A Legendary Planet!" Exclaimed the SDC heiress.
Oscar points to his other Elemental HERO. "I'll Tribute Blazeman to activate Terra Firma's effect! Terra Firma gains the ATK of the tributed monster." Oscar explained. "Terra Firma Magma!"
Blazeman was absorbed be the bigger Hero. And as that happened Terra Firma's color became redder as magma began to flow through it's body.

"Terra Firma attack Ragnazero!" Oscar ordered. "Terra Firma Magma Slash!"
Weiss smirked. "Number monsters can only be destroyed by other Number monsters!" Weiss exclaimed. "It's futile!"
"I know! But you still take damage!" Oscar countered.
Terra Firma slashes Ragnazero with his swords made out of magma.
Elemental HERO Terra Firma ATK 3700
Number 103: Ragnazero ATK 2400
Weiss LPs: 4000 to 2700
"Kuh!" Weiss was forced to herself from the attack.
"I'll end my turn." Oscar stated. "And during the End Phase Terra Firma's ATK will return back to normal."
Elemental HERO Terra Firma ATK 3700 to 2500
Weiss' turn...
"Draw!" Weiss exclaimed. She smiled at the card that she drew. "I activate Rank-up Magic Barian Force! With this I can Rank-up a XYZ monster I control."
Oscar's eyes widened. "Rank-up Magic!" The younger boy exclaimed.
"Get ready to lose!" The heiress smiled as she started to chant "Heed my call! The Infinite power that can freeze even time itself! XYZ Summon! Come Chaos Number 103: Ragnafinity!"
A much more menacing Ragnazero appeared. Gone were her blades made out of ice. Now it was replaced with large menacing scythe and a pair of black wings.

"Then I'll activate my skill by discarding a WATER monster!" Weiss smiled menacingly. "Frozen Hell!" The heiress shouted.
Terra Firma's body began to gradually get frozen. He was struggling to move but in the end he became completely frozen. "Frozen Hell changes the ATK of a to 0." Weiss exclaimed.
Elemental HERO Terra Firma ATK 2500 to 0.
Oscar panicked. "Terra Firma!" The young boy exclaimed.
"I'll follow that up with Ragnafinity's effect." Weiss stated. "By detaching an overlay material..."
Number C103: Ragnafinity OVL 1 to 0
"...and then by targeting your Terra Firma, I can inflict damage to you equal to difference of the current ATK and original ATK of your monster." Weiss explained. "Terra Firma current ATK is 0 while his original is 2500. That means you'll take 2500 damage, and when that happens the targeted monster is banished."
Ragnafinity dashes towards the still frozen hero. "Guidance of Purgatory!" And slices him in half.
Oscar's LPs: 4000 to 1500
"Gaaah!" Oscar screamed in pain as he was hit by the residual damage.
Weiss smirked. "Your wide open now." The heiress stated.
"Damn it, I lost." He muttered while clenching his fist.
"It's good that you realize it." Weiss stated. "Ragnafinity! Direct attack! Purgatory Scythe!
The Number monster delivers a slash on Oscar causing him fall on his knees.
Number C103: Ragnafinity ATK 2800
Oscar's LPs: 1500 to 0
WINNER: Weiss Schnee
"Alright that's enough." Glynda stated as turn her attention towards the SDC heiress. "Ms. Schnee, congratulations on your win.'
She then turns towards the Slifer Red. "Mr. Pine hold your head up high. I've heard from Ozpin that this was only your second time dueling. There's no shame in losing here"
The Schnee heiress heard this. "Wait... It's only his second... time. I had trouble... against a rookie?" She whispered to herself in disbelief. Her pride was almost shattered right then and there.
"Mr. Pine and Ms. Schnee, please return to the stands." Glynda stated. She then took out a mic. "The next match is against Jaune Arc and Cardin Winchester. Both of please step onto the field."
On the Stands...
Jaune frowned when the heard this. "Time to get this over with." The only son of the Arc family stood up from his seat.
He smiled nodded at Ruby and Yang before finally descending down the stands.

I really should stop picking cards with long texts. (Especially when English is not my first language. Ragnafinity caused my brain to melt.)
I'm going mostly sticking with the English names because it fits better in the story.
Now some of might have noticed that Winged Kuriboh was Normal Summoned in defense position. I decided to put that anime rule into this story. (For those that didn't know. You can't Normal Summon a monster in face-up defense position. You can only set it face-down.)
As for the guest that requested a Danger! Dark World deck...
No... Danger! monsters are too convoluted for my tiny brain. But I do have something planned for the Dark World archetype.
