It was lucky for Percy that the pool was near the library so he made it in time before Coach Hedge could comment on it. Coach was focusing on the Stoll brother's antics that he might not have noticed Percy anyways. Percy himself was distracted by Annabeth and had a smile that seemed permanently etched onto his face, which didn't go unnoticed by his friends.

Jason and Leo gave each other a knowing look. Percy was usually lovestruck during lunch with the gang, where he sat across from Annabeth, but this was the first time he was distracted during practice. Leo unashamedly teased Percy first.

"Dude, what's got you all smiley? Surely it's not Coach Hedge in his tight shorts."

All three guys looked at him and grimaced at how inappropriately small Hedge's shorts were. 'It should be a crime that those shorts didn't leave much to the imagination,' thought Percy.

Jason took it upon himself to change the subject back. "Nah, surely it's because of a certain blonde," Jason said with a smirk and a raised eyebrow at Percy.

"Sorry dude, I know I'm hot and all but I'm not into you like that. You know I'll always consider you to be a good friend though," Percy said with a fake apologetic tone and a hand on his chest. Jason smacked Percy amicably in the head while Leo clutched his stomach from laughter.

Jason was used to Percy evading any teasing about anything connected to Annabeth but this time Percy's face was red. Jason knew Percy was oblivious about things when it came to romance so it was nice to see him finally come to terms about his crush on Annabeth.

Still, Jason couldn't help but give Percy the same treatment when he himself liked Piper but didn't say anything in fear that she didn't feel the same way. Jason was usually on the other side of Piper's ranting on how Annabeth was also oblivious and stubborn in admitting she liked Percy so Jason knew there wouldn't be heartbreak if either one confessed. Jason hoped for his girlfriend's sake that someone finally makes a move so Piper could stop stressing about things.

"Have you talked to Annabeth and asked if she could help you with your English assignment?" Jason asked.

Percy hit his head with his hand when he remembered the reason he was in the library in the first place. "It completely slipped my mind."

"You can ask her during lunch tomorrow," Leo said and then grinned. "Of course, that is if you can get your shit together long enough to muster up the courage."

Before Percy could retort, all three guys flinched at Coach Hedge's loud voice. "Valdez I better hear you getting in the water and swimming laps instead of you cursing in the next minute."

Leo's face paled as Jason and Percy snickered at his misfortune. They quieted down quickly when they felt a warning glare coming from Hedge, effectively cutting off any further teasing, which Percy was thankful for. He didn't need any more nervous energy when asking Annabeth for help tomorrow. 'It's not like it's a date,' Percy's head reasoned, but couldn't help feeling his heart soar at the thought of spending time with Annabeth, even if it is spent just studying.

A/N: Sorry that there were no Percy and Annabeth moments and that it was kinda short. I always wanted to write a scene with the guys teasing Percy but the next chapter will definitely include Annabeth though. I'll try and update soon but the chapter will definitely be longer. Thanks for reading!
