Day 1
About 50 meters from the entrance was a small one-story house on the left side of the path, with a small sign near the door that said "Clubs". Just as Jotaro got closer, a purple-haired pioneer girl walked out of the house. She froze as soon she saw him, looking frightened at the tall figure that approached her.
"Excuse me, do you know where I could find the camp leader's cabin?" he calmly asked.
"U-Uh…" the girl stuttered.
Somebody suddenly jumped out the bushes nearby. It was a redhead wearing a bright red U.S.S.R shirt. The girls Jotaro has seen so far were short, but this girl looked like she was almost half his size. She jumped near the first girl and started telling her something while wildly waving her arms, but the purple-haired girl seemed confused and lowered her gaze, keeping quiet.
'Maybe I should ask someone else,' Jotaro thought.
But before he could walk away, the U.S.S.R girl pulled something out of her pocket and started waving it in front of the other girl's face. That something turned out to be a bug, a grasshopper to be exact. The first girl had this terrified look on her face as she loudly squealed. She instantly ran off in the direction of the square. The bug girl chased after her, not before she glanced at Jotaro, giving him a playful grin.
He smiles a bit, 'She reminds me of Anne… I wonder how that little runt is doing.'
He continued his walk and made a left turn on the path, seeing the small cabins that likely housed the local pioneers. This place caught him off guard, he imagined the pioneer camp to be more like a military camp: sleeping in huge barracks with rows of bunk beds, waking in up in six o'clock, making your bed in a minute, and meet your comrades in formation at drill square; he didn't think that this place would be an actual summer camp. Suddenly, something struck him on the back, whatever hit him didn't make him budge and he slowly turned around. He saw another girl with orange hair staring him down. He narrowed his eyes in response. The girl wore the same pioneer uniform that the others wore, but she wore it more provocatively. She had her shirt tied up to show her belly and cleavage, and she tied her red neckerchief to her wrist.
"What do you want?" Jotaro asked sternly.
"New here, are you?" the girl questioned while glaring at him.
It was not even ten seconds of meeting this person and Jotaro is already annoyed with her. Not only did she hit him for no reason, her overly arrogant attitude had pissed him off.
"Yeah, what's it to you?" He answered with an irritated face.
It seemed that her tough girl act began to falter, as she didn't make the Joestar intimidated in the slightest. She slowly backed away from him.
"Fine, see ya," the pioneer said with a small grin, as she walked away from him.
Jotaro sighed and pulled down the brim of his cap, "Giant pain in my ass."
As soon as the girl was out of sight, he continued his stroll and ended up at the camp square. The center of the square had a statue with a plaque under it with the word "Genda" on it.
'I know that girl told me to go left once I got to the square, but I wanna walk around some more, it looks really nice outside.'
He decided to take the path on the right to see where that would take him. He made his way through a small grove and finally made it to a pier. Jotaro moved over to the wooden walkway to get a better view of the blue waters. The sounds of waves crashing on the shore, the distant calls of seagulls, and sea breeze gave him a moment of tranquility.
"Hey, wrong way!" a familiar voice called out.
Jotaro snapped out his trance and turned towards the voice. It was that blonde girl that he met earlier at the gate, but instead of wearing her pioneer uniform, she wore a white bikini.
"Now what did I tell you? Take a left at the square, wasn't it?" she asked.
"I know, but I wanted to walk around and get acquainted with the camp," he responded, looking back at the sea.
"Oh, I see…" she acknowledged. "Oh, I still haven't introduced myself! My name is Slavya! Actually, my full name's Slavyana, but everyone calls me Slavya. So you can too!"
"Slavya, eh? Cool name," Jotaro remarked, turning back to the blonde.
"Thank you," she blushed, "Your name is Jotaro, right?"
"That's right," the Japanese youth replied.
She smiled, "I'm almost done here. Could you wait here a minute, I'm going to change, and we'll go to Olga Dmitrievna together, agreed?"
"Sure," he nodded.
After the exchange, she ran off, and Jotaro sat down on the pier, letting his legs hang above the water. He stared back at the sea, enjoying the beautiful view.
'Maybe things over here will be alright.'
I'll try to update more chapters as soon as I can. For the meantime, I hope you guys stay safe, especially during this time of crisis.
