Hello everyone and welcome back to Unexpected Bliss, this time chapter 2! Again please review and do whatever you want with this fanfic! Now onto the story!

"WHAT?!" yelled Toshiro.

Rukia has a smile on her face while Ichigo gave Toshiro a death glare.

"Yeah what do you mean she's pregnant?" accused Ichigo.

"Well she has all the symptoms of some who is in their very early stages of pregnancy. Probably around 2 weeks. The symptoms are loss of reiatsu. And there's a small miniscule of a different reiatsu within her. She should be expecting to have reiatsu bursts, morning sickness, some fatigue and nausea, food cravings and mood swings. So prepare yourself Captain Hitsugaya. Oh, and I'll take it that you will tell Karin, right? As I have other important things to attend to." Isane smiled.

"Toshiro…!" Ichigo said still with a death glare on Toshiro.

"What?! I didn't know this would happen and we did discuss the prospect of having kids one day."

"Yeah but you still got my baby sister preg...nant" Ichigo couldn't bring himself to say the word.

"Oh lay off him Ichigo do you remember how excited and surprised we were when we had Kazuki. And Karin isn't even awake yet so let's just leave these two alone...for now since I know it will make you at least happier if you get your proper chance to maul Toshiro." Rukia said.

"Oh alright fine. Toshiro! When you get out of here we're gonna have a little...spar."

"Just as long as you don't kill me cause we wouldn't want the baby to be fatherless. And let me walk Karin home before we do anything."

Ichigo just gave him another death glare. "Don't worry we won't tell anyone until you're ready." Rukia said.

With that the couple left, leaving Toshiro by Karin's bedside holding and stroking her hand with his thumb. Soon Toshiro fell asleep with his head on the mattress and his hand still holding hers.

Karin began to stir and woke Toshiro immediately. Toshiro looked at her with love in his eyes.

"Wh-What happened?"

"Honey you know how we talked about having kids one day?"

"Yeah and?"

"Well looks like we'll be getting one soon!"

"Really?!" Karin hugs her husband with tears in her eyes. They both placed a hand on her stomach. Karin smiled and laughed a little with some tears coming out. Toshiro smiles at her warmly.

"I can't believe it!" They both put their foreheads together and then shared a passionate kiss.

"Oh we'll need to make accommodations to the house and get baby clothes and diapers and baby food and toys and-" Karin rambled.

"Okay okay. First let's just get through the nine months okay?"

"Okay"

Toshiro told her of the pregnancy symptoms Captain Kotetsu mentioned.

"Huh can't wait for that."

"But it's worth it right?"

"Right. Could you go see when I can get out of here?"

"Sure" With that Toshiro left the room to find a squad member.

"You can be discharged tomorrow Lieutent Hitsugaya." The squad member said.

"Okay thanks. I wonder how long I'll be able to work and then have to take maternity leave. Oh I hate to do that after all I'm the lieutenant of this place and they need my help."

"Don't worry about it they got others that can help out too." Toshiro stated.

"I know but-"

"Nope, we're taking care of you first after all you're bringing a new life to this world."

"Yeah, yeah you're right." Toshiro stayed with her and just chatted about random things until visiting hours were over. He shunpo'ed back to the house and got ready for bed. It felt cold in the bed without Karin but he knew it was just for one night. He had a hard time trying to sleep without her there but soon he fell into a deep sleep.

When it was morning he reported into his division to tell Rangiku that he'll be gone for most of the day to visit Karin. He went to squad 4 barracks which was really a hospital and signed in as a visitor and went to Karins room. She was glowing with happiness when he got there and he stared at her for awhile before making his presence known.

"Hi."

"Hey. You almost ready to go?"

"Yeah, could you get a squad member to discharge me?"

"Sure."

"Okay Lieutenant Hitsugaya I have your discharge papers here and your lieutenant badge." The squad member said.

"Thanks Hanataro."

"Oh and Captain Kotetsu said you can have the day off."

"Okay thanks." Karin smiled.

Toshiro helped her out of bed and walked with her out of the barracks to their house.

"I'm excited but also nervous." Karin said.

"Why we're going to have a kid."

"I know it's just that...what if I'm not a good enough mother...what if I mess up…what if I die."

Toshiro stopped walking and put his hands on her shoulders.

"I don't why you're having these ridiculous thoughts. You are going to be a perfect mother. You will have some slip ups and mess up from time to time but that's normal. And I will not let you die, promise me that."

"I promise. Thank you Toshiro." They both went in for a hug and a quick kiss.

When they got home Toshiro avoided Ichigo so that he doesn't have to do their little 'spar'. The rest of the day was spent resting and talking and looking at catalogs to see what kind of baby stuff they would need.

"When will we tell everyone?" Asked Karin.

"Should we tell them when you start showing?"

"I think that should be fine."

The next day they went about their morning routine of getting ready. They gave a quick kiss and a goodbye when they went to their respectable divisions.

"So Captain what was up with Karin two days ago?" Rangiku asked.

"None of your business. Just know that she is perfectly fine."

"Oh come on captain! I know that something must have happened for her to pass out like that! Did she over exert herself or were you two having too much fun that night?"

Toshiro turned very red with both anger and embarrassment.

"It's nothing like that Matsumoto!"

"Come on captain please tell me what happened. Please please please."

Toshiro thought up a lie quickly. "If you must know then she was a little sick and hadn't eaten that day."

"Ooo sounds like someone's preg~nant~."

"What?! NO!"

"Oh come one captain with all the fun you two have it was bound to happen. I'm just surprised that it didn't happen decades ago."

"She was just sick and hadn't eaten! End of story!"

"Uh-huh. Well with those symptoms she's bound to be pregnant. Ooo I gotta bug Kurosaki about it since she was there with you at squad 4."

"Please don't spread a rumor around. And don't go pestering the Kurosaki's about it!"

"See you later captain~"

"Why do I put up with her?"

"So Karin what was up two days ago?" Momo asked.

Since Karin and Toshiro got married Momo was surprisingly ok with the marriage and bacame one of Karin's good friends.

"Oh nothing I just didn't eat that morning and I was a little bit sick."

"Sounds to me like your pregnant."

"What?!"

"Yeah cause I know you and Shiro-chan have a lot of 'fun' together and shouldn't it be happening about now I mean you guys haven been married for almost two centuries. Plus if you didn't eat then you must have nausea or something and you were fatigued."

"No no no nothing like that I was just sick and I didn't eat because I didn't feel like it."

"Ok sure if that's what you say."

"Momo…"

"Well I gotta get back to Captain Hirako. Thanks for the lunch Karin!"

"Please don't let her spread a rumor around."

She walked back to her squad barracks when she ran into her captain.

"Oh hi Karin! I wanted to congratulate you personally because you were asleep when I congratulated Captain Hitsugaya."

"Yeah thanks captain. Hey would you know how to hide my pregnancy from everyone like the reiatsu bursts? Toshiro told me the symptoms and I wanna be prepared so that nobody finds out until we're ready."

"Sure I'll prescribe you some pills to help calm down your reiatsu and to hide the second reiatsu that forming within you."

"Thank you Captain."

They went about their daily business treating people, helping them, and saving them. The work day was ending and it was time to head back to the house. She was the first one there and laid on the couch waiting for Toshiro. When he got home he sat on the couch with her head resting in his lap.

"Anything eventful happen today?" Asked Karin.

"Just that Matsumoto guessed you were pregnant so that's great."

"Yeah Momo guessed too. Hopefully no rumors go around until we're ready."

"Yeah let's hope so."

Toshiro made dinner and they ate on the couch. When they were done Karin offered to do the dishes but Toshiro would have none of that.

"Oh come on just because I'm pregnant doesn't mean I can take care of things or myself. Besides you made dinner so now it's my turn to do something."

"Karin I love you, but please let me do this for you I want you to rest, just think about the baby. Please."

"Ugh fine. You know you're too helpful."

"Yeah yeah I know I know." Toshiro smiled.

Karin waited for him to be done with the dishes and then they both went upstairs to their bedroom to get ready for bed. When they were done they snuggled up in bed together and soon fell asleep.
