"I can't believe we're doing this," Timmy protested. He had faked being sick as a means of sneaking out to visit Vicky's high school with Cosmo and Wanda.
"You know the plan, sport."
"Fine. Whatever. I wish I was invisible, yadda yadda yadda."
The fairies raised their wands. With a glow and a poof, Timmy was gone.
The halls were crowded with teens rushing between classes and lockers.
"Where is she?"
Timmy figured with as rare a combination of characteristics as Vicky possessed, she would be easier to come by. He spotted two flights of stairs.
"Up there...?"
He dashed toward them, pushing through countless adolescents to achieve this feat.
"There she is!"
Vicky was standing in front of an open locker. Her arms were heavy with books.
"Jeez. No wonder she's so tough. Am I gonna' have to carry stuff like that in high school? No thanks!"
A large, muscular boy with blonde hair in a leather varsity jacket approached Vicky. He knocked the books to the ground.
"Later, freak! Hahaha!"
Timmy's blood boiled in rage until he was steaming from his ears. He waited for the boy to pass by.
"WOAH!"
Timmy tripped him. His nose smacked the stairs with an audible thud. This wasn't enough. Timmy wanted to make sure he got the message across. He knelt next to the bully's ear.
"Next time, you're going all the way down."
"GHOSTS! AGH!"
Timmy giggled, trying as hard as he could to remain quiet. Vicky picked up her books.
"At least one good thing happened today...," she uttered.
Timmy stopped laughing.
"Vicky..."
The redhead walked away, presumably to go to class.
"I should follow her a little longer..."
Timmy watched as Vicky focused intently on her math assignment. She grew progressively more stressed as she went along, but still, she never relented, determined to show the strength of her will.
"She looks so sad."
Timmy placed his hand upon hers.
"What the heck," she squealed in surprise. The rest of the class veered her way. She shrank back in her chair with an embarrassed grin and a blush to match.
"Is there a problem, miss Miller?"
"No, sir...," she lied.
"Back to work then."
"What was that? I know I felt something..."
Timmy waited to leave with the rest of Vicky's class so as not to draw attention to himself.
"I'm back guys."
Cosmo and Wanda poofed him back to normal.
"What'd ya' find out, sport?"
"You guys were right. I thought she was the way she was without anything causing it, but she has problems just like everybody else."
"I told ya' so."
"Come on."
"Where are we going?"
"Home. I need to think about some stuff for a while..."
