It was supposed to have been a strenuous day, a really hard, physically and mentally taxing day. Uraraka knew that, but as she lay on the ground, her leg pinned underneath an absurdly large piece of rubble, and as a skyscraper sized robot barreling down on her while she desperately activated her quirk on some of the rubble and threw it off herself, at the robot, she felt it all flash through her mind. Well that and the fact that her leg was at the least sprained as she tried to stand and fell again, hurting her other knee, she took in a deep breath as she started to crawl away, knowing that the thing was far too large for her to actually get away from.

She'd started the day off well, better than usual even with both her parents waiting home to wish her luck on getting into U.A. She hadn't missed her train, her favorite pump up songs all played on her, admittedly illegally downloaded music, phone even though she hadn't even picked to play her pump up playlist. She'd only gotten one cat-call and a glare had sent that jerk packing, hell she even helped a poor guy who'd tripped. If she wasn't about to die she'd be blushing a little at how much awe the guy had looked at her in, like no one had ever gone out of their way to help him. Admittedly he was sort of plain looking, well besides something about his eyes, there was something in the way he looked at the world she was sure, like he was constantly taking it all in and analyzing it oh, and how could she forget his hair, he had green hair, what an absolute mad lad dying your hair that color.

Where was she, oh yeah, there'd been that jerk who'd yelled at the kid she'd helped, she really hoped he didn't get in, she usually had an awesome judge of character if she did say so herself, and she did duh, he seemed like a real dick-head, oops there went her mouth, she was going to have to watch that if she lived through this, no one liked a foul mouthed hero. The test hadn't been that bad if she was being honest, she wasn't the best at paper tests but she definitely wasn't the worst out of the people there, Greenie and Spikey blond kid finished first, followed by some stuck up looking guy with glasses, then she'd finished about ten minutes later.

Then they all got the honor of meeting Present Mic, who honestly told some pretty great jokes, even if she had listened to his podcasts, against her parents orders, and knew he'd definitely taken some of his late night material and made it PG. After that he'd told them how the point system was going to work, the different robots worth different points and to not worry about the huge robots cause they weren't worth the effort according to him. Then they'd all loaded up into a shuttle, with jackas- er Spikey glaring daggers at greeny, called him "Dekiru" she thought, weird thing to call someone you hate but whatever, she was getting some real envy vibes from him. But she'd had better things to worry about at the moment, like how some of the people here looked pretty competitive, both in appearance and what she could notice about their quirks, speaking of noticing people Greenie was obviously taking notes on people mentally, or maybe physically on his phone.

Once those gates had opened though Greenie and Spikey were the first two through somehow, Greenie looked worried for some reason at the dude who'd spent literally the whole day being a prick to him. She shook her head when she saw that, obviously something had happened between them, maybe they were dating? Nah, probably not with how much Spikey hated Greenie. That kid with… engine(?) legs took off right behind them, quickly passing them and then, oh boy, then her favorite part started. Lifting those robots up she destroyed tons, it made her feel a little sick but she'd trained her whole life to get into UA to be a hero, a little nausea wasn't going to stop her from helping some of the… less talented kids here. Then all of a sudden these giant freaking robots had come up out of nowhere apparantly! So of course she did the smart thing and started running, until someone shoved her onto the ground, it better have been an accident or else… She shook her head as she slipped again and actually started to cry. Then the rubble had fallen on her and well, now here she was, watching, in awe, as people ran by her, she took note of no less than three "men" with obvious enhanced strength ran by her.

Finally she decided to swallow her pride, god this was hard, as tears streaked down her face, everyone too far away to actually hear her and do anything in time, even that kid who'd gone on and on about his family of heroes saw her and ran away. She screamed, in a voice that scared her, it didn't sound like any voice she'd ever used before "SOMEONE HELP ME PLEASE!" Then she was crying again, because of course no one turned around, she clenched her hand into a fist as her leg finally gave out again and she couldn't crawl anymore, hearing the robot getting closer and closer she finally gave up. Closing her eyes and preparing for the end, what a stupid fucking test giant robots? WHY? When she looked up and saw that boy, the green haired one, glaring up at the robot like it had murdered his entire family, then she saw something that really got her mad, even though she had just been crying, some of the applicants were still destroying little robots behind him, while she was screaming for help, what were they…

She felt it more than saw it, the air seemed to spark with some energy as that kid with green hair stood straight up, lifting one arm in front of him and bending his elbow so his fist was eye level before thrusting his hand forward with what sounded like a battlecry, and then, almost faster than she could track a small green orb flew into the robots chest, well it looked like it's chest, it was basically right on top of her so she wasn't exactly in the best position to tell where it hit. Then there was the screeching noise of metal sliding against stone as the robot just seemed to fall backwards, smoke coming out of whatever Greenie had done to it. She couldn't believe it, someone had actually saved her, looking back at him, he clenched his shoulder and she saw him nearly buckle under his own weight before he rolled his shoulder and started running up to her.

He stopped once he got close, panting and clutching his shoulder a little too hard. Smiling at her, he knelt down before collapsing under his own weight. Groaning he sat up with a look of concern when he saw her leg. "Welp, guess we're both waiting on the medical team now." He leant against a piece of rubble, rubbing his arm. He looked… really tired and somehow full of energy and excited. While she was, totally not, checking him out he spoke up, with a blush that took up the majority of his face. "S-so um, is your quirk to turn off gravity's effect on things? Cause that's really cool, you could save so many people with that quirk-" He looked at his hand with a sigh, the hurt one that is, "-all I can do is attack things and destroy stuff with my quirk… I think." He leaned his head back, hitting his head against the rubble, apparently on purpose because he didn't blush any brighter than he already was.

"Well-" She touched a rather large piece of rubble and set it down next to her so she could flip over and lean against it before releasing the zero gravity effect on it. "-honestly I've never thought too much about it, I just touch something with all five fingers and it just sort of starts to ignore gravity." She tilted her head to look at him, tapping rapidly on his phone, scratching her chin and staring at him, he looks up blushing furiously and waving his hands in front of his face.

"S-sorry I j-just like writing down cool quirks a-and yours has a lot of practical uses besides just beating villains and saving people." She rolled her eyes and leaned back against the rubble she'd moved. She knew plenty about the "practical uses" her quirk had, too bad her dad wouldn't let her help the family out. Putting on a smile and looking at him with a grin she couldn't help but laugh a little.

"My quirk is cool? You just took out a robot the size of a skyscraper, that's awesome!" She saw his face physically drop and put his phone up. He nodded and laughed a little, an obviously forced smile on his face.

"Yeah, it's just, I'd prefer a quirk that let me help people in trouble, instead of one that's only good at breaking stuff. It doesn't help that I only figured out I even had a quirk last week." She couldn't help but let the shock she was feeling show on her face. Last week?! That wasn't normal, 'Obviously Ochako, pull it together", that must be why he hurt his arm so bad, he hadn't had enough time to get used to it… wait-

"You applied for the U.A. entrance exam without knowing you even had a quirk? That's… pretty bold." She grinned at him, this time in earnest, this guy had a lot of guts. "I'm Ochaco Uraraka, what's your name?" He blushed, ah it was kind of cute how shy he was, he obviously didn't talk to girls of any kind much, if he talked to women at all.

"Izuku Midoriya-" She noticed he dropped his head a little. "-I didn't destroy very many robots, I don't know if I'm actually good enough to get in honestly." Oh confidence issues, she got that, she had plenty of her own issues, like overbearing parents, money problems, an obsession with breaking little rules constantly, never had confidence issues though. She shuffled over to him so she was sitting next to him and then she punched his shoulder lightly.

"Hey, I'm a hundred percent sure that you're gonna get in, with that kind of power and willing to do that-" She pointed at his arm, which was still very red, not bad but still bleeding in a few places, "-to yourself to save someone? Yeah Midoriya, you're gonna be a hero, oh shit, what was that angry guy calling you? Deku, well yeah Deku you can do it!" She felt him tense up a little and something flash through his eyes that actually scared her before it was replaced by hurt, which obviously confused her.

"Why did you call me that? Bakugo-" 'Ah that must be Spikey's name.' "-calls me that to make fun of me, calls me a useless Deku." She scoffed, a little peeved at Spi-Bakugo, she corrected herself, for making fun of someone who was obviously self-conscious and kind. She made a fist and punched the air, blushing slightly for doing something so over the top.

"Yeah? Well I say your Deku means you can do it, and who are you gonna listen to a dick, or your new best hero-in-training friend?" She smiled at him, actually grinning when he squirmed a little. His face got beet red and he actually started tearing up a little which, once again what was up with this guy, confused her to no end. He whispered barely loud enough for her to hear him.

"A new friend? I haven't had one of those since.." He said a name she couldn't really make out but that made her even sadder and angrier, she was great at emotional multi-tasking if she did say so herself and she did, because she was one hundred percent certain that it was Spikeys fault that he said that. She didn't really know why but it just seemed to fit Deku's situation.

"Yeah well, new school, highschool, we're all gonna be new there together, so screw that guy, I'm sure you'll make loads of friends, you're obviously nice and you rescued me so you must be great." She nodded hard to herself, agitating her leg, but she ignored that for her new friend. Noticing some old lady walking towards them, she saw Deku start freaking out, but in like a good way? So she assumed it was some sort of hero. Turned out to be a hero named Recovery Girl, but she was like ancient so wouldn't it be Recovery Old Lady, Uraraka laughed at her own stupid joke but was relieved when that pain in her leg went away and she was even happier when Dekus arm was fixed, though she did feel a little more tired, which she was assured was normal. The two new friends started to walk out when Uraraka saw Deku pull out his phone, with yet another beet red blush on his face.

"W-would it be all right if I-I got your contact info? J-just so we can talk, n-not for like any w-weird reason or anything." She let out a little giggle and smiled at him, pulling out her phone and showing him her number, if there was a guy she'd actually give her number to it was Deku. She bumped his hip with her elbow.

"Stop acting all nervous around me Deku, I mean it's endearing but I'm not gonna bite you or anything." She smiled at him one more time, enjoying how he squirmed a little, before turning away and heading home. Yeah, today hadn't been what she, or he probably, had been expecting, but it was a pretty great start to her time at U.A.
