Here we'll see the fate of Connie and the Crystal Gems, and hopefully we can see what happened with Steven and White Diamond.

I would also like to point out that yes, the do have their new outfits when they return, I just thought me having to describe it would make it seem like I'm pushing to make the chapter uselessly longer and it would be awkward for me to just say "She was now fitted with her newest outfit from the cannon show" ya know what I mean?

Anyways, enjoy.

-=Connie/Garnet/Pearl/Amethyst=-

Connie was screaming the whole way down before she finally hit the ground after a couple hundred feet of falling. Luckily for her, the bubble absorbed most of the impact but she still hit her head on the side of it. Once she was on the ground, the bubble dissipated, leaving her to lay in the nutrientless dirt.

The human shakily got up to her feet, the world around her spinning slightly and her vision seemingly doubled. "Ugh, I really hope I don't have a concussion." She managed to mumble.

The dizzied teen leaned against a wall for support until her vision corrected and she could walk properly again. She took a few minutes to understand her surroundings, exploring the area until she came across four gemstones scattered across the ground.

As she approached them, she realized that they belonged to Ruby, Sapphire, Amethyst, and Pearl. "Oh no, please tell me they're alright."

She picked up all of the stones, inspecting them each closely. Much to her dismay, Pearl had been cracked, but at least she was the only one. While unfortunately enough the egg-like gem had a crack going straight down the middle, it luckily wasn't so bad that she'd shatter anytime soon cause of it.

Connie sat down against the wall with a sigh, all their gems in her hands. She closed her eyes, praying that Steven was ok right now.

-=Three hours later=-

Connie awoke to the site of Amethyst's gem floating in the air, the bright light that was her form nearly blinded her as the Quartz came back. Once she landed she gave a stretch and a big grin. "So, I assume this means we win?" She asked with a smile before she realized where they were, and that Steven wasn't here. "Orrrr not?...Where are we? And where's Steven?" She asked, looking around nervously.

"Steven...Yellow Diamond took Steven away. He lost the bubble that was holding all of you and before he was able to go after you guys, Yellow snatched him up. He put me in his bubble to protect me and I ended up falling down here too." She explained, just as worried for her friend as Amethyst was.

"What?! Do you know where she took him?!" Amethyst questioned, beginning to panic at the many thoughts of Steven being hurt or worse right now.

"I'm guessing she took him to the tower that we were locked in before we got out to rescue you guys." She predicted, not knowing that Steven was alone right now with White in her head ship.

"Alright, let's go break him out then, has anyone else come back?" She asked, summoning her whip.

"No, just you right now...Pearl was actually cracked from the fall." Connie informed her, handing the broken stone to Amethyst.

"Aw geez P, why you gotta be so delicate." Amethyst sighed as she took it in her hands and looked it over, running her finger along the crack. "So how long we been out?"

"Nearly five days, shouldn't they be forming by now?" Connie asked, slightly worried that she'd starve to death before they escaped this planet, as her recent snack wouldn't hold her over for long.

"Eh, Pearl takes forever, but Ruby and Sapphire should be back pretty soon." The purple Gem shrugged joining Connie on the ground. "It's not like we can just storm the castle without them, we'll hardly have a chance without Pearl as it is, but since you were trained by her you'll have to be her stand in." She sighed, holding the gemstone close. "Erm, if you agree to it that is."

"Yeah, of course I'm going to help bust Steven out." Connie nodded determinedly. Amethyst went to respond but she noticed a light coming their way.

"Oh dip, someone must be searching for us." Amethyst said quietly as she looked around for a place to hide, spotting a rock that was sinking into the ground, revealing a hole.

The Quartz lifted the rock and motioned for Connie to hop in the pitch black hole. Once the human girl was safely down there she joined her, covering the hole again at the last second.

The two of them could see the light outline the rock as it passed them by. "Ok, I think we're good." Amethyst whispered to Connie. "There's a tunnel here, I'll lead the way."

Connie stayed quiet and gave her a nod before following close behind her, still carrying Ruby and Sapphire's gems with her.

The two of them ended up coming out on the other side of the tunnel to see a massive Kindergarten, seemingly going on infinitely.

"Woah, the earth Kindergartens have nothing on this...is this really what they were planning to do there?" Amethyst asked her rhetorical question out loud while marveling at it all.

"This place gives me the creeps, should we really be hiding here?" Connie asked, looking around with the feeling of being watched.

"We don't have much of a choice, do we?" Amethyst said as she continued to walk deeper into the hollowed out planet. "Unless you'd like to go say hi to whatever was out there."

"No, you're right, we should stay here until the others come back...I just can't help but think that they're hurting Steven, Yellow seemed really mad." Connie sighed as she followed closely.

"How did you two even get out in the first place?" Amethyst questioned hoping to hear an epic little story of their prison break, instead of thinking about whatever they were doing to her brother.

"Actually, Blue Diamond let us out." She responded much to her surprise.

"For real? I guess she did seem to be the one who had the bigger soft spot for him." Amethyst shrugged. "So I guess you two were caught by Yellow then? How'd that work out?"

"Her and Blue fought it out, I fell off the bridge before I could see who won, but Blue seemed to be loosing big time; she was pretty beat up." Connie said, doubting Blue even stood a chance against the obviously stronger Diamond.

"Hm, I wonder what Yellow's doing to make sure she doesn't help him again. I mean, with any luck, we won't even have to break in there." Amethyst chuckled, hoping that they could get so lucky.

Eventually they settled down not too far from the exit but far enough that they'd notice anyone coming their way before they noticed the two of them.

"Ok, so from what I remember, there is no way into the tower room other than a door and a window. Neither me nor Steven could fit through the window, so if we take that way, I won't be able to go in cause I can't shape shift. But on the other hand, if we go for the door, we might have a run in with Yellow, what do you think?" Connie asked, planning out their rescue mission while drawing images from memory in the dirt.

"Nah, I think our best bet would be that window, right? You won't have to go risking your fragile life, we could just snatch him up without conflict, and maybe we can get out of here without the Diamonds even knowing." Amethyst said, listing off all the reasons that going through the window is the better option.

"Yeah, but Steven can only shape shift his limbs, how will he fit through the window?" Connie sighed again, realizing the hole in her plan.

"No problem with that, Garnet can just make the hole bigger for us." Amethyst shrugged. "Speaking of which, I think we'll be seeing her real soon." She said, motioning to the two glowing stones that Connie had set next to her.

The preteen human stepped back, giving the them some room to form. Once the two small Gems reformed Ruby was quick to start panicking while Sapphire attempted to remain calm, already knowing what was happening.

"Where are we?!" Ruby asked immediately "Where is Steven?! What happened after we poofed?! Why are we in a Kindergarten?!" The barrage of questions came nonstop.

"Yo, calm down there shorty." Amethyst said, putting a hand down on her head. "Listen, Steven was caught while trying to break us out, Connie thinks he's locked up in a tower, and we gotta break him out."

"How could you say to be calm knowing that?!" Ruby shouted, obviously not taking the her advice.

"Listen, we need you two to be calm enough to form Garnet so we can bust him out." Amethyst insisted. "You two become unstable if you're freaking out like this, and we can't rely on Pearl right now cause she's kinda sorta cracked."

"Wait, Pearl?! What happened to her?!" The burning Gem shouted, seemingly beginning to panicked even further.

"Ruby." Sapphire spoke calmly yet firmly as she held her partner's hands in her own. "She's not wrong you know, if we want to save Steven and ensure Pearl's survival, we need to get him and leave as soon as possible, and that means that you need to calm down, okay?"

"Right...right, Pearl is out of commission and Steven is in trouble, now isn't the time to be hot headed." She nodded, giving her hands a squeeze as she leaned her head against the blue Gem's own forehead and gave a small chuckle. "You always help me find my cool."

In a flash of light, the two of them fused into one, Garnet standing there after the light dimmed down. The fusion looked over to them with a smile. "Alright then, do we have a plan?"

-=Three hours later=-

-=The Crystal Gems/Connie=-

The four of them were just under the rock that led back to the outside world. "Alright then, everyone remember their roles?" Garnet asked quietly as she peeked out to check for potential threats, as she was sure they were being searched for right now.

The human and the Quartz both responded with a yes, prompting Garnet to push the rock aside and climb out, helping the other two get out as well. The three of them began their climb back up to the structures and civilization.

It took them maybe a good ten minutes before they finally reached the top, luckily there wasn't anyone around, as everyone was probably busy with their jobs after all. "Ok, so Connie stays here and tells us if something goes wrong, cause unfortunately we don't have the time to wait for Pearl to come back and give her a weapon. Amethyst you'll climb onto my back, and I bring us both up there where we will save Steven." Garnet went over the plan as she summoned her gauntlets while Amethyst tied herself to her with her whip.

"Right, I'll do my best to fend off any reinforcements." Connie said with a nod, though she was admittedly upset about not being able to fight.

"Actually, on the note of Pearl, hold on to her gem for me, will ya? I don't want her trying to reform while we're doing a stealth mission, and if something goes wrong I don't want her to come out as we're fighting or accidentally get cracked." Amethyst offered, holding out the cracked, white gem.

Connie grabbed it from her, holding the Pearl close. "Right, I'll make sure she isn't hurt any more than she has already been."

Garnet slammed a fist into the wall while placing a foot against said wall as well. Connie was confused at first but quickly realized what she was doing, as the fusion had begun digging her fists into the wall and climbing up the side of it, something Connie never thought possible outside of cartoons.

The human teen waited impatiently at the bottom of the tower, keeping an eye out for anyone that would try to stop them as the other two made their way to the top of the tower, shape shifting themselves to fit through the narrow window.

Once they were in the dark room they saw the silhouette of a body that they assumed to be Steven. "Yo, Steven, let's get out of here already, you can fly that leg ship by yourself right?" Amethyst spoke, walking over to him and grabbing his shoulder. Her and Garnet were both surprised to see that he was now blue, at least until they realized that this blue him was just a stand in for the boy.

"What's going on here?" Garnet spoke as she summoned her gauntlets again, realizing that it was a trap.

"Oh, you found out already? That's too bad, I thought we would have a minute or so of you two giving some annoying speech or singing another stupid song about hope and whatnot." A male voice echoed from an unknown location.

"I-I'm sorry my Diamond, I didn't anticipate them grabbing me like that." The blue gem spoke as she turned back to her original form. She was a tall blue gem who wore a blue and white dress that went down to her knees and blue hair that went all the way down her back.

"That's alright, I guess I should've at least planned for them finding out so soon." He said sarcastically. "Yeah, don't worry, I got it covered. Cease them, don't let them leave this tower with their forms intact." He ordered, surprising the two of them when a battalion of Gems came rushing through the door.

"Amethyst, we have to go, NOW!" Garnet said, pulling her along by her arm and jumping at the window. Two pink eyes watched from the darkness at the ceiling of the tower as the fusion broke the wall around it and jumped out.

He gave a sigh as he floated over to the window. "You won't get far, let's see how long a few wanted criminals can really last on this planet." He then turned back to the battalion with a glare. "I do think I recall saying I didn't want them leaving this tower with their forms intact." He said, as his pink eyes glowed violently, putting a real emphasis on his black, diamond shaped pupils. All of them looked amongst themselves nervously. "In fact, you didn't even get into the position that I ordered you to, why is that?" He questioned as he slowly floated down to the floor.

One quartz stepped forward, this one in a black and white uniform. "With all due respect, we have more battle experience, so we would know what's best when it comes to attacking the enemy."

"I see, is that so?" He asked, crossing his arms with a raised brow. "Tell me, what's your name?"

"Milky Quartz, facet C3-" She began to recite the entire thing but was interrupted by him. "So Milky, do you talk to White this way? Maybe you're forgetting your place here." He said, walking over to her slowly, his short stature not being all that intimidating to the Quartz soldier.

"No, my Diamond, I'm just giving reason as to why we broke up the original formati-" She was interrupted once again. "Oh, so that's the excuse you give me? Tell me then, you decided to reject the orders you were given by a Diamond and yet you still lost the targets?"

She began to get nervous for a split second before shaking her head. "If they escaped before we could even get into our new formation, then they would've escaped anyway."

"Oh? So you're all having problems falling into position? I want all of you to go practice that for the next year, no breaks and if it's not perfect by the time that year is done, you will be doing it nonstop for yet another, and that will continue until you get. It. Right." Her ordered, giving each Gem a glare.

Everyone went to leave but he was quick to stop them. "I have not dismissed any of you." He spoke as he moved in front of the group, his speed surprising them. "All of you stand against the wall."

They looked amongst each other, all of them obviously worried but doing as he commanded anyway. "Good, now then, will the Milky Quartz that I was speaking to move to the center of the room?" He requested, becoming irritated when she didn't step forward after a few seconds. "I'm not asking."

She was quick to come out of the small crowd now, hoping that he would be merciful, unsure of what kind of Diamond she was dealing with right now. "You thought you could just scamper off with the rest of them? I know it was you who turned things around. You know, I'm new to the authority, yes, but tell me, does that give you permission to undermine me?" He asked with a fake calm.

"P-Pink Diamond, please show mercy." She answered, closing her eyes tightly as she braced for the worst.

"Mercy? Hm, I don't know, if I do that, you'll just go around never learning your lesson. I mean, the Gems you convinced to act under your command are being punished accordingly, so why wouldn't you?" He questioned, walking around her with his arms folded behind his back.

"I don't expect to go unpunished, just please spare my life." She begged much to his amusement.

"She wants me to spare her life." He spoke, addressing the other Gems in the room. "She went against a Diamond's orders, and she expects mercy." He gave a dark chuckle that only lasted for a second before he turned back to her. "Get down on your knees Quartz."

She decided that she was in enough trouble, so she did as he requested, now face to face with him. "Please...it won't happen agai-" She was cut off by him resting his finger against the gem on her upper left jaw.

"Begging for your life...and you call yourself a soldier. How pathetic." He mocked as his other hand was now covered in pink energy, the same energy that gave him his shield, but this time it was a blade that went along the entire length of his arm and then some. The gem went to cry out for mercy but before she could even move, he swung the weapon forwards, piercing right through her gem as if it were sugar glass.

The rest of the gems watched in horror as their squad leader was shattered right in front of them. "Alright, who's second in command here?" He questioned them as the weapon dissipated, a red Gem stepping forward, obviously afraid of him. "Good, you're leading this squad now, don't disappoint me like your last leader did. You know the consequences if you do." He threatened, crushing the shards of their fallen leader under his foot into a fine dust. "Now, take your gems and go, you haven't escaped punishment just because your leader is gone."

"Y-Yes my Diamond, thank you." She stuttered out as she gave him the Diamond salut before turning back to her team. "You heard him, off to the training grounds." The team was quick to leave, none of them wanting to be the last out the door.

Once everyone was gone, he took a moment to stare at the crushed shards on the ground with a scoff. "I shouldn't have to punish your Gems for you."

"Consider It training for how to deal with your own gems once you get your colony." White Diamond could be heard within his head. "Whatever you say, but how about we deal with these rebels before we start thinking about any of that." He responded, seemingly talking to himself from an outside perspective before turning around and leaving the room.

-=End of Chapter=-

Well there he goes, his first ever kill haha.

Anyways, as always-

Good morning, goodnight, or good afternoon, I'll see you all again soon.
