Nick woke up to the sunlight hitting his face, feeling numb all over his body and a massive headache, he opened his eyes to be met with trees and sky, with some strange birds flying by in the distance, he sat up and immediately felt a headache act up.
"Argh…What…What happened?" He asked to himself.
He remembered being on the car with Max when all of the sudden they were speeding up into a burst of light…
"Max?" Nick shouted.
He stood up, he was in a really deep forest and it seemed no one was around.
"MAX!" He screamed, trying to find his friend.
That's when he heard a faint sound coming from the woods, he checked it and surely enough, Max was there, unconscious, he quickly placed his hand on his wrist, to see if his heart was still beating, thankfully he was okay, he realized that next to him where his backpack and Max's suitcase.
He realized that Max's car was not here…Where they dragged into a forest? Why would they take only the car and not their belongings?
That's when Nick realized that he didn't know where the hell he was.
Why would they be in the woods? They were in the middle of a road on a what seemed to be a desert.
He decided to calm himself down and inspect his backpack, he still had everything there, but strangely enough the backpack was more small and … light and empty? It still had everything he packed but it just felt lighter… that's odd, shrugging it off, he just carried the backpack on his back.
He glanced more at the woods laid before him, while he was lost, he still was amazed by the beauty of this forest, somehow it felt more colorful than anyplace he's ever been to.
Nick returns his gaze to Max direction to find him waking up, with a pained expression on his face.
"Agh..What the… where am i?….Nick?" Max grumbled.
"Hey man, you feeling alright?" Nick asked him
"To be honest no…" Max got up and walked over to him with his suitcase.
"Well I don't know where we are dude, I'm still processing everything." Nick informed him
"Well good that I'm not alone here."
"Good thing I brought food and a tent then."
"You carry a tent on that?"
"Yep."
"Well come on, let's…see if we can ask for help, where's the van?"
"I don't know."
"WHAT?! THEY STOLE IT?" Max shouted in a worried tone.
"No, if we were robbed, we wouldn't have our stuff would we?"
"Good point."
They both headed into the unknown trying to find someone or someplace to go, they needed to know where they were and how to head home.
Suddenly a sound cut them off, something was rattling in the bushes, Max was startled and Nick took an offensive stance, it could be a dangerous animal, like a bear.
Nick got his survival kit and pulled a knife, just in case this creature attacks.
Suddenly a pair of yellow…things with black at their tops popped up from the bush, Nick gasped and Max was scared.
After a good 3 seconds of staring the creature came out of the bush and it was….
A Pikachu!
…WAIT A PIKACHU!?
"WHAT…THE….HELL IS THAT THING?!" Max screamed
"I-Is a….P-Pikac-chu…" Nick whispered since he was also surprised by this creature.
The Pikachu got a better look at both of them, seeing they were obviously scared, and didn't seem to try anything at the moment, the Pikachu grabbed some berries from a nearby bush and ran off.
"W-Wait!" Nick shouted going after the Pikachu.
"HEY! Don't leave me!" Max shouted, following him.
Nick wanted to see what this creature was, there's no way it was a Pokémon since they don't even exist, or that's what he wanted to think, everything of this has been weird, first, they end up in a forest after being absorbed by light, second, his backpack feels light as all hell but it still packing everything he brought, and third, he just saw a Pikachu in front of him!
He continued to follow the Pikachu until he reached the end of the forest, which he just gasped in amazement from what he is seeing now, it was a horde of Pokémon living together in a grass field, with some water Pokémon in the ponds and lakes, and Pokémon just playing around in the field.
It was beautiful, he didn't even realize that Max was right beside him.
"Hey Max, this is a wild guess but…"
"Y-Yeah?"
"I don't think we are in our world anymore"
Max just continued to look in amazement on what's on front of them, when suddenly, Nick decided to get close to the Pokémon.
"Dude what are you doing?" Max whispered to him
"Well maybe they can help us, I don't see any other humans around here" Nick stated and gently approached the Pikachu who saw him before, he was eating the berries with other Pikachu's, then he turned around and noticed him "Pii…" the Pikachu was seemingly taking a stance position, ready for battle, but Nick put his arms up like as to say "I give up", the Pikachu seemed to get the memo and tilted its head "chu.".
"Do you know where there are other humans?" Nick said to it.
"Pika…" The Pikachu took a second to get what he said "Chu!" it pointed to some part of the woods over the north with a smile on its face.
"Thank you!" Nick said while also bending his body slightly downwards.
"PikaPi!" the Pikachu stated and continued to eat his meal.
Nick glanced back at Max who just looked dumbfounded "Well you're coming or not?"
"R-Right!" Max quickly composed himself and followed suit.
"You know it's kind of ironic we find a Pikachu first…" Nick stated
"…HOW are you not freaked out by this?!" Max screamed at him.
"Well I know a little bit about Pokémon, and this is kind of cool!" he said with a smile on his face.
Nick thought all of this was amazing, looking at Pokémon in real life and being able to communicate, and maybe even have one! It was awesome! They were having a Pokémon adventure!
Max was scared and confused, how will they get home? How did they end up here? Can they EVEN leave?
Still it was the happiest he's ever seen Nick.
