Chapter 2
"Come on!" Izuku felt his arm get rugged by Uraraka as she pulled him to the dance floor. It was their last formal at UA before graduation. Present Mic had taken over for Aizawa as their homeroom teacher and did his best to help his friends' students excel. After two years of studying and training, they were ready to be licensed pros. The formal was nice, a large event in one of the many stadiums used for quirk training. It had been remodeled to have tables and a dance floor along with a bar for those allowed to drink. It had been a fun night, the third years celebrating their last night of adolescence before they would become full time adults.
"W-wait!" He cried as they got to the dance floor. Uraraka put her arms around his shoulders as Izuku wrapped his around her back. In the background, a drunken Kaminari was being held up by Kirishima and Sero who all fell back laughing. Todoroki chuckled as Yaoyorozu sighed at the antics of the boys. Izuku looked at Uraraka and ran his hand through her hair, she looked so beautiful, she smiled as she pressed her head to his chest. He then leaned his chin on her head and ran his hand down her hair. This was a nice moment, he could live this forever.
"Deku?" Uraraka asked sweetly.
"Yes?" He replied gently. Uraraka pulled her head off his chest and looked him in the eye.
"Can you? DIIIIIIEEE!" As her face morphed into the haunting figure of All For One.

"AAHHHHHHHH!" Izuku awoke breathing heavily, his old heart beating hard. He was sweating as he took a moment to collect himself.
"Just a nightmare." He said to himself as his breathing calmed. Even after all these decades, he still had nightmares of All For One. It was cruel, the dream he was having, was a good memory. He leaned over to the empty side of his bed where Uraraka had spent next to him every night till her death a year ago.
"Baby….." Izuku said sadly running his hands over the empty space. He missed her so terribly, she had been the one who calmed him down during his panic attacks, gave life to his son, and was there for him all these years. Their bond had been forged in the greatest of fires and was unbreakable. What he would give just to hold her hand again.
"DAD!" Izuku turned to see his son, Toshi, standing in the doorway. "What's wrong?" As Izuku aged and became less independent, Toshi had moved in to help take care of his very elderly father.
"Nothing son, just, a bad dream." Izuku said sadly. Toshi sighed, he knew well of the horrors his father endured to save his mother and the world. Toshi walked over and took his dad's hand in his.
"Was it about mom?" Toshi asked.
"Yes." Izuku said sadly. "I hate that, when I see her in my dreams, All For One is still there to haunt me to this day." Toshi looked at his dad sadly, the name All For One has gone down in infamy, Toshi has faced his fair share of powerful and evil villains during his tenure with One For All but never one as malevolent as All For One. He was so proud of his father for his bravery and willpower to live on after such awful experiences.
"You beat him dad, you saved mom, and the world. I wouldn't be here if it weren't for your bravery." Toshi said, smiling. Izuku looked at his son with pride.
"Thanks Toshi." Izuku said. He wished All Might was here to meet him.
"By the way, Izumi's stopping by later with James." Toshi said, causing Izuku's face to brighten. At his age, all his friends and older family were gone, all he had left in the world now was his son, granddaughter, and her friend James whom Izuku liked.
"Well, Cinnamon Roll always puts me in a good mood." Izuku said referring to the nickname he gave his only granddaughter. Toshi laughed as he helped his father out of bed. It was bittersweet to see a man who once was the strongest in the world be so old and frail now, a reminder of the mortality everyone possessed.
"Well let's get you some breakfast." Toshi said as the two made their way to the kitchen.

"I'll have a steak dinner for my prize." Izumi said laughing as James finally arrived.
"Y-you!" He said breathing heavily. "Suck!"
"You swallow!" She laughed back causing many tick marks to appear on James' head.
"Ah Trinity! And Thunderfist!" The two turned to see the chubby and old mayor of the city walk out in a suit. "So glad you could make it, I do hope this doesn't inconvenience you two in any way." The mayor said politely.
"Not at all Mr. Mayor!" Trinity said.
"Thank you milady." The mayor said as he took her hand and kissed it.
"What no kiss for me?" James asked sarcastically.
"In due time Thunderfist." The mayor chuckled. "Anyways, we are having a fundraiser dinner this weekend, I understand you two have hero work to do but it would be a great help and pleasure to have you two present, donors of the All Might Foundation would surely love to see his long down successor. Bladecypher will be attending as well."
Bladecypher: Iwatani Hitoshi. Japan's number 2 hero, he is dual quirked which allows him to turn his arms into chainsaws and he can fly at super speeds to cut through almost anything
"Oh Bladecypher!" Izumi beamed with her cheeks running red. She had a massive crush on him, he was so handsome, a symmetrical strong face with the body of a god. He was intelligent and charming though he had a reputation as a womanizer.
"Now look, you got her daydreaming about him, she'll be talking about him the rest of the week now." James said. He did not like Iwatani, well, he didn't like most people. Iwatani and him just could not get along with the former often insulting him for his American heritage and lack of formal education. James could not afford to attend U.A or even any hero school, he simply worked his way up the ranks till he established himself as a pro.
"Oh cheer up Jimmy! Maybe you can find yourself a cute girl to date" Izumi said, bumping him with her hip which caused him to be flung down the stairs. "OH NO JIMMY!"
"I'm fine!" He said as he got up. Izumi has only received One For All four years ago and while she had a good handle on it, she sometimes had trouble controlling her strength. He walked back up rubbing his behind. "Provided no emergencies happen, I'll be there."
"Me too!" Izumi winked.
"Excellent! It will begin at six and as I'm sure you know, this is a formal event. I look forward to seeing you there." The mayor said as he walked back in his house.
"You sure you're okay?" Izumi asked, feeling guilty.
"Yeah I'm fine." James said, yawning. "Anyway, aren't we supposed to see your dad and grandpa today?"
"Oh no I completely forgot!" Izumi gasped.
"Brawn but no brains with you." James said dryly. "Come on, we still got plenty of time."
"Wanna hop on? It'll be faster." She asked as she knelt down preparing to take off.
"Yeah, not a chance in hell." James said. "You'll probably see a puppy and drop me."
"Oh you're so cruel!" She said playfully as the two made their way to the Midoriya Estate.
Xxx
"Daddy!" Izumi cried as she hugged her father. She had lost her mother and grandmother with a three year span and as such, loved her father and grandfather very much.
"Hey sweetie!" Toshi said, embracing his daughter. "How are you doing today?"
"I'm doing great!" Izumi smiled. Toshi then waved to James.
"James my boy!" Toshi greeted.
"Mr. Midoriya." James said waving back.
"O come on, you know you can call me Toshi." Toshinari said.
"Cinnamon Roll!" Izumi turned to see her grandfather in a wheelchair with his arms outstretched. Izumi sprinted over to him with her arms spread out. She was careful not to bump into him too hard, even without her powers, Izuku was very frail from age and could get hurt easily.
"Hi grandpa!" She said hugging him tightly.
"He looks exhausted." James pointed out.
"He had another nightmare." Toshi explained. "About my mother and All For One."
"Damn." James said. He remembered learning about the legendary battle and how much Izuku had suffered. He always respected Izuku, he was one of the few people on this planet that James would not dare insult. The willpower and strength he must have had to not only survive but live on was incredible. James would never want to meet the one who endured what Izuku did and walked away okay.
"It makes me so angry." Toshi growled clenching his fists. "My father deserves peace, even after all this time, he is still haunted."
"Somethings, never go away." James said. His parents burnt corpses and screaming ate away at him on a daily basis.
"I don't think he has much longer." Toshi said whispering so Izumi wouldn't hear. "That he lived this long with so much pain, I'm grateful to have him."
"As would anyone." James replied.
"James, I have a favor to ask." Toshi said, turning to him with serious eyes. "If something happens to me and my dad, promise you'll look after Izumi and be there for her. We are her only family left."
"You know I will." James assured him. Toshi smiled gratefully. James has been such a wonderful friend for her, when Katsumi and Uraraka passed away, James sat up with her all night to comfort her.
"She's strong but so young and naive still." Toshi said. "I just don't want anything bad to happen to her, sometimes I wish she got a desk job. Ugh I must sound like a shitty parent right now don't I?"
"No, you'd be a shitty parent if you weren't worried about her." James said. James was only two years older than her but he had seen the ugly side of the world much more than she did. Losing his parents at such a young age and being a loner, struggling in school and poverty, he had seen his fair share of despair. The Midoriyas offered to let him stay with them but he refused out of pride.
"You have a way with words don't you?" Toshi chuckled. "Thanks for being there for her."
"Well someone's got to remind her to turn her shitty brain on everyone once in a while." James said as Toshi broke out laughing.
