Three years later…

It had been nearly three years since Skywalker's family went into hiding, fleeing to a small village located in the planet, Tatooine. Luckily, one of Rachel's close friends, Ona, a female blue Twilek who owns and runs a small bakery agreed to hide them in a secret annex, located in the back of the bakery. They were told to be quiet, meaning they must not make any noise when the other bakers or customers are around because they will never know who will hear the noises and worst of all betray them. Though the children were told by their mother that they mustn't use the force, they never forgot their studies from the Jedi Academy. This worried Rachel for she knew what terrible fate awaits those who are force sensitive

Ida now in her early twenties sat on her makeshift bed in both her and her younger brother's shared room, demonstrating to, Owen now thirteen years old who watched with fascination from his spot beside her bed as he watched his older sister construct the lightsaber, one piece at a time. Luckily, Ida was able to collect several kyber crystals before they went into hiding as well as other devices needed to create a lightsaber.

"Now all you have to do is place your own kyber crystal inside the saber, attach the final device and you have your own lightsaber," Ida demonstrated as she finally constructed her light saber

"That's so cool, Ida," Owen said, feeling impressed with his sister's ability to construct a light saber.

Then, as soon as Rachel entered the room, she let out a loud gasp of shock and horror, storming over to where her children are at and snatched the light saber out of her daugher's hand.

"What in the stars are you doing, Ida?!" Rachel yelled with the light saber in her hand.

"I was demonstrating how to build a light saber!" Ida protested as her mother grabbed a nearby chest, throwing in her light saber and locking it afterwards.

"Yeah she wasn't teaching me how to use the force!" Owen argued, as he stood by his sister.

"I don't care," Rachel yelled as she placed the chest containing the lightsaber in a nearby closet.

"You two are not going to become Jedi!"

"Dad would let us become Jedi!" Ida yelled, making the whole room go silent.

Owen turned to his sister and silently mouthed shut up, making Ida look down in shame.

"Don't…don't you dare bring your father into this," Rachel said hoarsely as she kneeled down without looking at her children.

"Mom, I'm sorry," Ida said as she walked toward her mother.

"I never should've said that. I just want things the way they were,"

"I know but we can't go back," Rachel replied as she slowly stood up, teary eyed.

"It's too dangerous and I don't want to lose you and Owen,"

She gently hugged her children closer as if protecting them from the monsters hiding in the shadows of their beds.

"Why did we have to leave," Owen asked sadly.

"You know why Owen," Rachel answered softly.

"Someone is after you and your sister. They want to harm you,"

She then chuckled warmly as they pulled back.

"If he were here now, he would see how grown up you two are,"

Everyone shared a warm laugh when they heard soft knocking on the door. Rachel gestured her children to keep quiet before slowly walking over to the door. She placed her hand on the doorknob slowly turning it, while taking a deep breath. When she opened the door, she smiled in relief. Standing in the doorway of the annex was their good friend and protecter, Ona.

"Ona, you gave us quite a startle," Rachel said, placing a hand on her heart while sighing in relief.

"You have nothing to fear," The Blue Twilek replied, smiling softly as she stepped in and looked at the skywalker children.

"And how are you two doing," Ona asked.

"We're doing fine," Owen answered.

"How about you,"

"I am doing fine as well," Ona replied, smiling warmly at them before turning to the dark skinned woman.

"Rachel, may I talk with you alone,"

"Of course," Rachel replied as she closed the door behind the blue twilek and turned to her children, gesturing them to go to their room.

Owen wanted to protest but both his mother and sister gave him a stern yet serious look that told him to go to their room which they both did.

Rachel Pov

"The First Order has started expanding," Ona explained.

"Many children are still being kidnapped and made into soldiers and the force sensitives are still being hunted down. Your children could be targets,"

"Oh stars…," Rachel said as her dark skinned face paled with shock and horror.

"And to make matters worse, people are starting to get suspicious," Ona added grimly taking a ragged breath.

"I tried to tell them it's nothing but some don't believe me, thinking I am hiding something,"

"It's as I fear, we are close to being discovered," Rachel said as she ran her hand through her dark black hair.

"If only Luke were here, he would know what to do,"

"I can assure that nothing terrible can ever happen to you or your children," Ona assured her gently placing a hand on her shoulder, making the wife of Skywalker smile.

Ida pov

Both Ida and her younger brother pulled away from the wall after pressing their ears against it in order to hear the conversation.

"They're coming for us," Owen whispered looking scared.

"It's okay," Ida gently shushed him as she gently hugged him close to her.

"How is it okay?" Owen asked, firmly pushing her away.

"This is the First Order they're talking about it. They could be the next Empire bringing ruin to the galaxy and then they're gonna be killing us,"

"I'm not gonna let that happen," Ida said softly gently caressing her brother's cheeks.

"Not while I'm around and if they do come, we'll kick their asses and be heroes just like our parents and our aunt and uncles,"

"Yeah, and I'll protect you and mom," Owen said as he stood up with pride, with both his hands on his hips as if he were a heroic statue of gold.

"Because as Aunt Leia always says we have hope,"

"That's right," Ida replied smiling at Owen's optimistic attitude before turning to look at the starry sky before she lay back on her bed while Owen got up and walked over to his own bed, crawling into the sheets.

"Hey Ida, when will we play our part in the fight," Owen asked as he lay down on his bed.

"Someday when we're ready," Ida answered before she blew out the candle nearby and fell into a deep sleep along with her brother.
