Author's Note: This is my first shot at writing fanfiction, so please bear with me.
I am a big fan of both the anime and manga of Black Clover and Fairy Tail. I own neither Black Clover and/or Fairy Tail, just O.C characters/moves.

In this story, Asta will be stronger and somewhat smarter than in either manga/anime. There may also be some elements from some other anime/manga series.
Prologue part 1: The Beginning
Location: Hage Village, Clover Kingdom Forsaken Realm
Year: x2XX Date: XXXX
'Long ago, a ruthless demon had appeared and threaten the very existence of humanity'
The scene opens up to show a village up in flames with its people running away screaming and terrified for their lives. Scene changes to show a massive creature taller than any mountain. *1, It has 3 eyes with a sinister like grin, long tan colored hair with 2 long angled horns going in opposite directions upon its head. The creature had 4 gigantic arms ,with long scars circling around them from the wrists all the way up to its shoulders, shooting out many types of magic in multiple directions, causing destruction where they landed. There was a large marking on its front and a long tail in the back. It had 2 large black bat like wings connected to multiple orbs of magic. It started to launch breath like magic attack towards the edge of the city, exploding on impact.
"What is that thing"
"It's a monster"
"Mommy"
"Somebody help"
Screamed the terrified villagers as they ran from the monster that was destroying their homes and killing their friends and family.
'All seemed lost until a lone mage appeared and took up the fight.'
The scene shows the demon started to move forward with no intention of stopping its rampage before the scene changes to the top of a roof where a young man appearing in a flash of light. *2, The young mage appeared to be in his 20's. He had blond hair and the only part of his face that could be seen was his was wearing a white double-breasted, long sleeved jacket that extended down just below his wast. It was red down the middle with 5 gold buttons on each side and has 2 belts on top with the dark colored one holding a was also wearing white pants with black shoes as well as a long blue cape with a white fur trim on the collar and a bronze cross on the cape. In his left hand was a golden covered book with a 4 leafed clover on the cover. He raised his right hand to summon a large sword made of light and launched it towards the demon, piercing its body. The demon blew up in a great explosion ending its its rein of terror once and for all. Scene changed to a statue of the mage standing atop the skull of the demon in victory looking over the village.
'After his triumph, he was branded the title of "First Wizard King" and his story became legend'
500 Years Later
Location: Hage Village, Clover Kingdom Forsaken Realm
Year: x776 Date: October 4th
'Now, many generations, after the defeat of the Demon, the title of 'Wizard King' is passed down to those select few with the duty to protecting the kingdom and its people from any and all harm.'
Father Orsi P.O.V
The scene opens to show the village, that was attacked by the demon so long was much smaller than before, during the night. Then, shifts over to a small church, not to far from the village, where a baby's cry could be heard. The door to the church opened to revile who was more than likely the Father of the church. He was a gentleman of older proportion, around early to mid Forties with his hair starting to grey a bit. He looks out the door, holding a lit candle, turning his head side to side before looking downwards to see two baskets laying on the doorstep of the church.
To his surprise, there were two infants laying in the baskets with one of them crying out loud while the other one is calm. He was shocked to see them, before lifting his head to look left to right, to see if there was anyone else around who could have left the children here. As he sees no one else was around, he sighs and looks towards the children once more with a sad smile married to his face, he picks them up and brings them into the church before closing the church.
Inside the father's room of the church, where using his Flame Magic to light the fire place, he finally was able to calm down the child who was crying out loud and place him in his basket next to the other one top of the bed and the start to crack his back. "Finally, I thought you would never sleep. Now, are you brothers, their the same age, possibly twins?... Nope." says the father as he gets a better look at the children.
"This one is all calm and sweet while this one ... is a bit energetic, add to that, they look nothing alike." He smiles as he turns the calm one on the boy has messy raven black hair and a soft look on his face. He also has a necklace that has a blue pendant with a gold carving in his basket. He then turns to look towards the other boy on his left, who starts giggling in his sleep with both his hands and a happy smile on his sleeping face. His hair was ash blonde and even messier than the other one.
"So, your name is Yuno is it? What a nice name." he says looking at the calm child who had his name stitched into his clothes.
Before turning to the other one he says "Now as for this little energetic ... OW!" only to get kicked in the nose and falls on flat his butt.
"Maybe he is a little to energetic." he spoke as he got up while holding his bleeding nose. He now has an angry look on his face as he looks at the boy, only to lose it when he sees the boy's smile and giggle as he does the same himself.
He sees the boy's name stitched in his clothes. "Asta eh, well boys you had a tough beginning ,but that is all over now because this is your new home. Welcome." he says happily as Asta starts to cheer with him in his sleep.
Location: Woods
While this was going on, elsewhere, in the deep part of the forest outside of Hage. There was a deep rumble coming from near an open cave and standing outside of the cave was a very large creature ,but it was to dark to see it fully ,but what you could see was its golden eyes. The creature was about to go in the cave before stopping and looking towards the night sky as the winds started to pick up.
"Looks like things are about to get interesting very soon." the creature spoke in a deep feminine-like voice before turning back to the cave to sleep.
15 Years Later
Location: Hage Village, Clover Kingdom Forsaken Realm
Year: x791 Date: March 1
It was evening in the small village of Hage and deep within the Demon's skull, that looked over the village, was a young man who was hanging by his legs on the branch of one of the many trees that had grown inside of the skull, with a blank look on his face. He has messy ash blond hair with a red 4-point headband on. His attire was a white sleeveless undershirt with a dark blue short sleeved jacket on top going just passed his waist and he was a bit short for his age group. The young man was no other than, Asta ,the energetic little baby left on the doorstep of the church, though right now he wasn't all that energetic and for good reason. He just came from the ceremony that is held once a year in his village.
{Flashback}
Location: The Grimoire Tower
No P.O.V
20 minutes ago
" 'Grimoire Acceptance Ceremony' a right of passage for young mages, 15 years of age, to gain their Grimoires, a magic item that can only be used by its chosen master and each one is unique. It helps increase ones magic power and list all the spells that one learns. It happens once a year when the Firefly Dandelions float in the air of March."
The scene opens to show a very large building surrounded by nature with glowing dandelions floating everywhere. Young men and women climbing up the staircase to the building to prepare for the ceremony. The main room, where everyone, it was covered head to toe all around in bookshelves. Everyone looked in awe, especially the two young boys. Near the middle was Asta and a raven haired boy as they observed the room with different expressions on their faces.
"So this is it ,huh Yuno, we finally get our Grimoires today." said a very excited Asta to the boy next to him, who in return gives a small grunt.
The young man had messy, raven black hair and a calm expression on his face. He wore a pitch black high-collared shirt with a blue pendant necklace. His pants were light-brown with a pair of brown belts wrapped around his waist and wore dark-brown boots. The boy was Yuno ,the younger foster brother and self-proclaimed rival by Asta who was left with him on the doorstep of the church.
Further in the crowd, two other boys ,with auras of arrogance, were looking around the crowd before setting their sights on Asta and Yuno and began to smirk. The one who seems to be the leader of the two said with a sneer "Just look at those two, could they be anymore poor looking. How pathetic, they shouldn't allow just any one of the streets come any here and join us in this time of celebration. Make my stomach turn violently."
"Yeah, but even if they get a Grimoire, not like its gonna help them that much in the long run. How pathetic. You don't think they'll be foolish enough to try to take the Magic Knights Exam in September right." the second one said almost as arrogant as the other one. The first one answered his friend "As if only those of Noble or Royal birth have the skills and magic to make it into a Magic Knight Squad".
The scene shifted over to the back of the room where Father Oisa, the Sister of the church and Asta and Yuno's little siblings were standing with the other families to watch the ceremony. The father was mostly the same since he found the boy except his hair had completely turn grey. The Sister was a beautiful young lady named Lily Aquaria. She had deep blue hair and a beauty mark under her left eye. Her attire was the typical nun dress and head piece with a cross necklace. She was currently holding the youngest child of all the church kids about 2 or 3 years old and his name his name Hollo.
The oldest child after Asta and Yuno was, Recca, a young 12 year old girl with red hair. She was wearing a blue and white shirt {top : blue and bottom: white } and brown shorts with black shoes. The fourth oldest child and 3rd oldest son of the church, was a boy named Nash. He was about 10 years old and had light brown hair and freckles along his nose. He wore a moss green vest over a purple long sleeved shirt and grey shorts with brown shoes. The fifth and final child of the church, was Aruru, a small girl with black hair. She was wearing a purple sweater ,with a diamond pattern on the front, over a pink dress with black shoes.
Nash P.O.V
The young boy was staring at his elder foster brothers as he listen to the two guys continue talk so rudely about them, though it was mostly about Asta.
"See the shrimp over there. I heard he can't even do a single spell at all." said the first boy in amusement. The second one started to chuckle at what he was just told. "HA HA HA ,Wow really, then we should talk good care of him. He is a rare gem. The only person in the country who can't use magic. HA HA HA".
Nash continues to stare at Asta's back before his face turned upset as he remembered what he was doing this morning in front of the church. Trying to use spells and getting all upset at how nothing was happening and ,as usual, saying how he wasn't done and screaming out how he was still gonna join the Magic Knight and become the Wizard King in order to give the family a better life. As well as declaring his rivalry with Yuno before getting shot down by Nash for saying how stupid he was and how, unlike Yuno, he will never get in at all. Before demanding him to respect him as the eldest sibling in the church.
I said to myself "What an idiot. Why can't he just accept the facts and give up."
His eldest brother has always been like this for as long as he has known him. The only thing that was different about him was that he no longer kept asking the Sister to marry him a few years back, which was a surprise to every one.
{Flashback}
6 Year Ago
"I'm very sorry Sister Lily" said a young Asta to the Sister with a bow, causing everyone around to look at the boy in confusion at his sudden apology.
"Could you repeat that once more Asta-kun. I don't think I understand, exactly what are you apologizing for?" said Sister Lily with confusion in her voice. The boy sees the mistake he made and then clarified what he was trying to say.
"OH uh, well I'm saying sorry because I was being selfish for always asking you to marry me. Someone made me realize that what I was doing was asking you to give up everything you believe in to be with me and that is wrong. So, I won't ask anymore."

...
Everyone ,shocked at what he said, responded the only way they can.
"WHAAAAAAT"
{End Flashback}
No P.O.V
As the young men and woman talked among themselves, their attention was suddenly drawn to an old wizard sitting on top of a magic carpet coming down from the top floor to the stage below as he spoke into a magic speaker and said "Welcome to the Grimoire Tower young mages. On this glorious day, you shall take the first step of your journey down the path of magic. I wish you Integrity, Hope and Love. For those unaware of who I am exactly, I am the master of this tower. Now it is know that no one from this region has ever become a Magic Knight much less the Wizard King. I am praying that one among you have what it takes to be the greatest and most powerful mage in the land." he finished as he steps of his carpet and onto the stage

"SERIOUSLY, I MEAN IT."
He then suddenly screamed causing everyone to stare blankly at the old man as if he was crazy.
...
He starts up once more "Ahem, now it is time to accept your Grimoires" he then finishes speaking as he lifts his hands in the air. All of a sudden, the Grimoires started to glow and fly off the shelves towards their masters.
"So this is my Grimoire huh?"
"Check out how big it is!"
"Yeah, well look how thick mine is!"
"Why is mine so small?"
"Now I can take over the family business"
"I guess I'll know what to do when i get more spells written down"
"Hmm, in six months ,we'll be taking grand Magic Knights Exam" "And we'll pass it, just you wait." said the two arrogant boys that was mocking Asta before as they got the crowd going.
"Yes yes very good, I have high hopes for you" said the tower master to the boys.
There was excitement all around until...
"UHHHHHH excuse me ,but is my Grimoire running late or something."
Asta said in a raspy voice as he got the attention of everyone in the building. He was standing with his arms out and a disdained look on his face.
'This can't be happening ... right?'

...
Silence was spread among the crowd.
...
...
"I guess you could try again next year" said the tower master, not sure what to say to the young boy while still trying to wrap his head around what is happening
'Even if he doesn't have much magic, he should still be able to receive a Grimoire.'
"WHAAAAAAAAAAAAAT!"
The young mages and their families started to laugh at the the heartbroken boy before they started to mock him while the church family couldn't believe what they were seeing.
"What a loser"
"That is pretty pathetic"
"Its funny too"
"Well, he's got us beat in one area at least, complete uselessness"
Asta didn't know what to do. His whole world had just shattered from this turn of events. Suddenly, a bright light appeared behind Asta, drawing his and everyone else to it. As he turns around, he sees it's Yuno with a Grimoire floating in front of him, but what really got everyone's attention was the cover of the Grimoire.
"Is that the four leaf clover" spoke the tower master with great shock just like everyone else.
"Like out of the legend"
"Really"
"No way"
"And its his a filthy little commoner"
"You mean like the one that was bestowed to the First Wizard King." said Father Oisa
"It's said in the legends that it is not only imbued with tremendous power, but also good luck to those who wiled it." the Sister spoke as she remembers the statue on top of the Demon's skull. Both Recca and Aruru started to cheer for Yuno, saying how great he was with the Father calling Yuno the 'Star of Hage village'.
Grasping his Grimoire, Yuno turns around and speaks with great confidence.
"I will become the Wizard King"
"AMAZING"
Asta's arms fell to his side with his face shadowed as he try to process everything that just happened as everyone starts to cheer for Yuno. He then starts to stand up with before turning to speak to the young man behind him.
"Yuno, just you wait, I'm right on your heels. I'll totally catch up to you because I am your rival!" This causes the young man's eyes to widen a bit. The crowd starts to laugh at the boy.
"His rival?"
"He can't be seriously"
"Is he stupid or something"
"What a loser"
"How ridiculous." spoke the raven haired boy in response towards Asta's declaration as he took his Grimoire and walked away ,ignoring the distraught look on his elder foster brother's face at his response, as the crowd continues to laugh at Asta. Everyone in the tower starts to exit and the Father starts talking about a pop-potato party as a celebration for Yuno receiving his Grimoire and to cheer Asta up.
( End Flashback)
Asta P.O.V
"Man this sucks, I knew I didn't have much magic, but I never thought it was so bad that I wouldn't have a Grimoire." said the disheartened boy to himself before he starts to remember an old memory from his childhood.
{Flashback}
"Then its a promise, when we get older ,lets see who will become the Wizard King!" spoke a young beaten and bloody looking Asta to a young crying version of Yuno.
"Yeah okay, lets do it." said the young boy smiles as he bumps fist with Asta.
{End flashback}
"That jerk, I bet he doesn't even remember the promise we made." I said to myself.
Asta, being who he is, swings up and lands the branch and inhales deep.
"LIKE HELL I'M GONNA GIVE UP! YOU HAVEN'T WON THIS ROUND FATE YOU ASSHOLE AND JUST YOU WAIT YUNO, I WILL GET MY OWN GRIMOIRE EVEN IF IT TAKES A FEW YEARS! I WILL PROVE ANYONE CAN BE GREAT EVEN A PEASANT WHO WAS ABANDON AT BIRTH! THEN I'LL BECOME THE WIZARD KING! HA HA HA HA HA HA!." I screamed/laughed from the top of my lungs.
"Okay, guess I could get some training done before I turn in or maybe I could go meet up with Obsidian and stay with her for the night. Been a few days since I've seen her ,plus, she did want to talk about something important."
"AAAAHHHHHHHHH!"
'SPLAT'
"Ow ow ow ow, that smarts"
I start to jump from tree to tree before a loud scream causes me to lose balance and fall of the tree I was on and slam into the ground face first. I sit up holding my face. Suddenly, I forget the pain I was in and looked towards the direction where the screaming had come from, turns out it was in the direction of the Grimoire Tower.
'I really don't like this feeling ... I just hope its nothing too serious.' I thought as I started to run towards the screaming
How wrong I was.
Location: Forest outside of Hage Village
No P.O.V
At the same time as Asta going to the tower, outside of the cave deep in the forest, slept a creature with a couple of boar carcasses and a un-eaten one surrounding it. Its details could not be made out, but the beast was larger than any of buildings in a city, even a castle. Suddenly, it started to awake from its rest and looked at the trees blowing in wind with its golden slit like eyes. It spoke in a deep female voice
"Hmmm, where is Asta, he should have come to visit me by now." Then she finally remembered "That's right, he was supposed to go get his Grimoire today with that other boy, Yuno was it?"
"Oh Asta, he must have not gotten one and that's why he's late. I knew I should have told him the truth." she said in a sad voice.
She knew that Asta had no magic inside of him so the likely hood of him getting one were next to zero, but she didn't have the heart to tell the excited child the truth, instead she decided to let him find out on his own. She could only hope he wouldn't be to made at her. There was a back-up plan if turns out the way she thinks it will. She then says to herself "I'm not even sure if it will work because of his non-developed container. Its a long shot if not very risky.". Before going deep into the cave to sleep some more, Suddenly, the winds started to pick up violently, seeing this, she turned her head towards the small village and spoke once more.
"Something big is about to happen and I'm not sure if that is a good or bad thing and why do I get the feeling that Asta is at the center of it." the beast sighed with worry in her voice before finally going into the cave.
"Be safe, my little one"
Location: Grimoire Tower : A few minutes before the screaming
Yuno P.O.V
I was looking over my Grimoire as I was on my way back to the church to get some rest before the celebration that the Father spoke of earlier. I was finally at the exit of the tower when my path was blocked by someone. I looked up to see it was the arrogant boys who were mocking me and Asta earlier. The one who looked like he was in charge looked pretty pissed at me and the one behind him was trying to calm his friend down. The leader was complaining about how they were to be the star of today and not myself or something, I wasn't paying that much attention to them before I saw the boss lift his Grimoire in his left hand and his magic start to rise.
"I will show this pest his place as I burn the book of his to ash" he said summoning flame magic and sending it right at me. I saw the spell come right towards me. ' "sigh" This won't be much of a challenge' thinking to myself as I activate my own magic to create a protective wind barrier around my person and dispelled his flames with little to no effort. They both look at me in slight fear.
"N-no way, he stopped and dispelled my flames with such ease and without his Grimoire." he stutters in anger before turning to the guy behind him and told him to go on and try himself, who looked unsure of what to do.
'Not that it will do them much good' I thought to myself in disappointment.
Just then, a man with a large amount of Magic and a sadistic grin on his face appear behind them. Then ,in a flash, chains filled with the man's Mana started to came flying out of the walls towards the two in front of me and attack them.
"AHHHHHHHHHHHH"
