"Ben I'm so sorry. I was angry, and I acted on impulse. I shouldn't have asked you to leave. I should've just told you to sleep on the couch. I- "she was talking a mile a minute. Ben felt terrible because he was the one who made her feel this way. It was his fault.

"Grace listen to me, it's okay. You did what you thought was right at the moment. Don't be too hard on yourself" he told her. "No Ben I shouldn't have acted that way, and I'm sorry. I love you Ben, I still love you with all my heart but- " "But you still think this, us, isn't right anymore" he concluded.

"Yes. But I didn't mean it like that Ben. What I meant was that I think we need time to think everything through, I need time to think everything through. Ben I can't understand how you are trying to protect us and Cal when these callings nearly killed our boy twice!" she needed to let him know why she didn't support him, she needed to tell him everything.

"Grace, I know you don't understand but it is because you weren't on the plane" "Ben I know that! I was here mourning you and my son for 5 and a half years!" she needed to cool down before they fought again; fighting wasn't the purpose of this call. She took a deep breath and told him "Ben I- we need time, we do. But I still want us to talk, I want us to have family dinners, and spend family quality time; for our kids".

"I think so too, for our kids" for us too, he thought. "We can have a conversation with them and come up with days where I can visit them and such".

"Ben you can visit them any time you want, you are their father"

"Are you sure?" he asked. "Yes, I am sure" she smiled although he couldn't see her.

"I have to go back to work now, but I am glad we could come up with a solution to this." She told him

"Yea me too" he sighed. He wanted to get it out, he wanted to tell her that he still loved her. He was pretty sure she knew but he still wanted her to hear it come out of his mouth.

"Grace?"

"Yea?"

"I love you Grace"

Tears came down from her eyes. The fact that she knew, hurt. But him telling her, that hurt her even more. It hurt her because she loved him, but she decided they weren't going to be together anymore. It hurt because she wished he never took that plane, because then they wouldn't have to be going through all of this. It hurt because he was hurting, but she knew taking some time apart was the right thing to do.

So she said "I know", and then the line went dead.

Grace got home pretty late after a busy day at work. It turned out that she had many catering orders she had completely forgotten to do; hence her mind was not focused at all on her job in the morning. When she stepped foot into her living room, she found Olive and Danny laughing over something on the TV. For a minute it reminded her of the time he used to watch TV with Olive every night, and then he would stay over. She missed him, she truly did. But she had decided to make her marriage work because she never stopped loving Ben in all those years.

Ben… god she already missed him so much; she was such a mess. She quickly made her way over the living room. "Danny what are you doing here?" she asked.

"I called him mom"

"Why would you do that Olive?" Grace asked. "Because I missed him. I wanted to spend time with him" she replied. "But you decided to call him now? Couldn't you wait a little?"

"I'm right here guys, stop talking like I can't here you" Danny said. Grace looked at him, and the way he looked at her gave him away.

He knew

He knew that she and Ben had broken up because he was looking at her with pitiful eyes. Yes, she was broken inside, but she didn't need anyone's pettiness, including Danny's.

"Danny, I think you should go" she said. "I don't think is right of you to be here. If you want to see Olive, you have to contact me first. And Olive-" she was looking at her daughter now, she was angry at her to say the least. Olive shouldn't have called Danny over, especially not when things weren't good in the family. "You should have asked me first if Danny could come over."

"But mom" Olive complained. She didn't understand why her mom wouldn't allow her to see Danny when she wanted. Olive was mad, so she left the room.

Complete behavior of a 16-year-old, Grace thought. "I'll talk with her later. Now go, please"

"Okay I'll go, but we need to talk" he replied.

"No, I told you everything I wanted to say. You and I have nothing to talk about. And if you want to see Olive, I ask you that you ask me first" she stated finally, and as soon as Danny was leaving, Ben entered the house.

"What's he doing here?" Ben asked; a million scenarios running in his head right now.

"He was just leaving" Grace told Ben, and then gestured Danny to leave.
