Chapter 1

Hazbin Hotel

The Hotel was enormous, far larger than most hotels Trevor had seen in his life. But, he didn't travel all over the world like all the rich fucks he hated, so he couldn't really say much.

"Welcome to the only possible way to get to the pearly gates," Vaggie introduced.

"Aside from joining those hippies in the countryside," Angel added.

Trevor chuckled mildly at this. If everyone in the Hotel was like this, he might not that hard of a time in Hell after all.

They entered the Hotel's lobby, which was clearly cleaned within an inch of it's life. Trevor was actually surprised that a seemingly hopeless cause could afford such good service.

Just as he finished that thought, he felt something fly past his leg, reminding him of the chickens at his old house. He looked around and saw a tiny girl with pink hair dusting everything with a feather duster. Her orange cyclops eye actually looked kinda... cute.

"Good grief!" she squeaked. "I can't keep this place clean for ten minutes!"

"That's what happens when people don't bathe themselves or their pets regularly," Trevor said, almost unconsciously.

Vaggie glared at Angel Dust.

"What? I keep myself clean as a whistle!" the spider explained. "Can't get much service if I'm caked in an inch of shit."

Vaggie turned her gaze over to the winged cat demon behind the bar.

"What are you fuckin' looking at me for?" he asked in a gruff voice. "I may be a sorry alcoholic, but I'm not completely careless."

There was only one person she could stare at; the tall, scary demon dressed in red.

"There's no need to look at me like that, dear Vaggie!" the demon said in a voice tortured with radio distortion. "I always keep myself neat and clean! It's bad for business to be dirty all the time! Learned that from Nifty!"

"Then who the fuck isn't cleaning themself properly?" Vaggie asked angrily.

"Probably the only person you haven't glared at," Trevor noted. "Other than me, of course. I just got here."

Vaggie's eyes went wide with realization.

"So, uh, can we forget this whole thing?" Angel said to break the silence. "Besides, I don't think Nifty minds at all."

"No, not really!" the cyclops confirmed, smiling widely.

Vaggie walked upstairs, a disgusted look on her face. Trevor was visibly confused.

"What's her problem?" he asked.

"The only person it could be is the hotel manager, Charlie," Angel answered, "who is also her girlfriend."

Trevor's eyes also widened in realization.

"Oh, shit."

It got really bad when he heard a long, loud scream from seemingly very far away.

"Well, hopefully she can get along with the fact that dust collects all the time. It just collects faster when somebody doesn't clean themselves regularly."

"Well, that's good news," Angel said. "I'd hate to think of their next bedroom adventure."

Trevor shuddered at the thought.

"Anyway, I suppose I better introduce you to everyone here. You already met the maid, Nifty."

"Hi!" the cyclops greeted.

"Evenin,'" Trevor replied with a slight nod.

"The grouch behind the bar is Husker, the angry cat," Angel continued.

"Go fuck yourself," the cat said to the spider-demon.

"And this tall and scary fellow here is Alastor, the Radio Demon."

"A pleasure to meet you, my friend!" the red demon greeted, holding out a hand. Trevor nervously shook it.

"Name's Trevor," he said to everyone.

"Hi, Trevor!" Nifty said, hugging his leg tightly. "It's been a while since I've made a new male friend."

"Clearly."

"Well, I'm gonna go upstairs and reassure Vaggie of the whole dust situation," Angel said, walking toward the stairs. "Try to play nice, please. I hate making love to bruised demons."

Trevor turned to Husker.

"Is he always like this?" he asked.

"Yep," the cat replied. "Might as well get used to it."

"Gonna have to."

"So, what do you like to do in your spare time?" Alastor asked, placing a hand on Trevor's shoulder.

"Like, for entertainment?" Trevor replied. "I would play mind games with my brother back when I was alive."

"Ah! The classic method of messing with people's minds! A pastime I myself enjoy partaking in!"

They were interrupted by loud screaming upstairs. Trevor was about to investigate when Angel flew down the stairs and landed in a heap.

"Did she not take the news very well?" Trevor asked as Nifty started dusting Angel off.

"No, she did," Angel answered, sitting up slowly, "but she didn't like that I told her that the new guy might screw her girlfriend when she breaks up with her."

Trevor's eyes widened as he looked up the stairs and saw Vaggie standing at the top, glaring at Angel.

"I do not support him," Trevor said simply before walking away, scared to death of her glare.

But, honestly, he did like her.

Night was now upon the Hazbin Hotel. Everyone was finishing up their dinner when a demonness Trevor didn't know walked up to him.

"Hello!" she greeted cheerfully. "I'm Charlie, the manager of the Hazbin Hotel! Vaggie told me about you."

"I'm sure she did," Trevor replied as he shook her hand, feeling the energy in her handshake.

"Well, I hope you're ready to go on the path to redemption! As manager of this hotel, it's my duty to guide lost souls back to the place they desire!"

"Shouldn't be that hard, with that bubbling enthusiasm."

"Hehe! Thanks! Now, let me escort you to your room!"

Trevor followed the cheery girl up the stairs. As he walked, he noticed Vaggie looking at him. The moment he turned his head towards her, though, she looked away.

Odd, he thought.

Charlie led him to a nice little room. It was modest, but very spacious, with enough room for a queen size bed and a dresser.

"Hope it's to your liking!" Charlie said. "And if there's anything you need, I'll be more than happy to help!"

"You're too kind," Trevor said politely. "Well, it's getting dark out, so I might as well catch some Z's while I can."

"Sure thing! Good night!"

"Good night."

Trevor sat on the bed as he thought about the life he left behind, with his murderous brother that he couldn't help but love. Family was family, after all.

"When he gets here," Trevor whispered to himself, "I'll find him and bring him here. No safer place than with a demonness who was willing to kill an angel."

Thinking about Vaggie made his body tingle. He didn't know how, but she had such an effect on him, especially after the incident with the Exterminator.

"I shouldn't be thinking about her," he thought. "She's got Charlie. What kind of friend would I be, seducing a girl who already has a partner?"

Trevor laid on the bed with his arm over his eyes.

"I hate myself."
