Take Me Away

Author's Note: I apologize in advance, this is just a lot of rambling with how I have been feeling lately. Hope you guys enjoy anyway xx

Looking at the news was getting to be too much. Everywhere Hanna looked, things were getting worse. She never thought she'd live to see something like this happening around the world. She felt like she couldn't breathe.

Everything had stopped. Her office sent everyone home 8 days ago with no clues to a date when they would return. Did she want a break from work? Most definitely. But, not like this.

Afternoons were always worse for her. She didn't really know why but her mood always crashed around that time leading to her taking a nap to try and fix it.

Hanna tried filling her days with things she loved to do while home alone. This included doing her makeup even if she didn't go any further than her couch or kitchen, re-reading one of her favorite books, playing Sims or another other game she hadn't finished yet, and baking.

Baking was her favorite of them all. It always helped her calm down because she really had to focus on what she was doing, and Venom loved everything she made as long as chocolate was involved. Eddie did too but wasn't nearly as enthusiastic about it like Venom was.

She hated when they were gone but knew they had to leave so Eddie could work since his work didn't stop in the midst of this crisis. Plus, chocolate helped sate Venom's appetite but sometimes they needed something more.

Hanna wished they could stay home with her where it was safer even though she knew they couldn't get the sickness thanks to Venom. Even though she knew this, it didn't stop her thoughts from spiraling about what if Eddie got sick and what if things didn't get better. She would feel so much better with them near. Feel safer.

She was scared. Scared of the unknown with what was happening in the world. And all she wanted was for Eddie and Venom to hold her.

Putting her phone down, Hanna started on their dinner for the night as the chocolate cake baked in the oven. They wouldn't be home for at least another 4 hours.

She sighed as the meatballs fried in the pan and turned the tv on quickly changing it from the news to Netflix because she couldn't bear to hear anymore of the numbers. The Witcher would be her choice of distraction for the next few hours as everything was readied for tonight. She'd much rather have her heart ripped out because of Geralt and Yennefer than what was actually going on.

4 episodes later, the cake had finished cooling and was iced with chocolate icing, of course, and was then placed in the fridge waiting to be devoured. The raviolis and meatballs Hanna decided to make were placed on the table as Eddie walked through the door.

"Hi babe," he said as he made his way into the kitchen smiling at what she made. "Looks and smells good in here."

Hanna all but smothered him in a hug gripping tight. She didn't realize she was shaking until Eddie voiced his concern.

"Everything okay, Han?"

Pressing her face into his chest, she replied, "I missed you. Both of you."

Eddie rubbed her back and placed kisses on the top of her forehead as Venom engulfed her in their warmth.

"Missed you too." Eddie whispered as he gently swayed trying to comfort Hanna.

"WE BOTH DID. ALWAYS DO." Venom rumbled soothingly.

Pulling away, Hanna looked up at them both almost shyly because of how she was acting. She kept telling herself she needed to get it together but, that was easier said than done.

Shaking her head slightly, she smiled and asked, "Ya hungry?"

"Always." Eddie replied while kissing Hanna's forehead causing her eyes to close in contentment.

Instantly Hanna felt better. Slightly better anyway. Eddie and Venom always helped. They always made her feel safe and warm.

They sat at the kitchen table eating their dinner and Venom kept telling Hanna how good the balls of meat tasted even if they were completely dead.

Dessert was a hit as always. As long as there was chocolate and plenty of it, Venom was happy.

Hanna slid her chair next to Eddie's so she could be closer to them as she enjoyed her slice of cake with a scoop of vanilla ice cream.

"CHOCOLATE ICE CREAM WOULD BE BETTER, HANNA." Venom hissed as they munch on a piece of cake.

Hanna giggled as she finished her bite. "I love chocolate, Vee. But chocolate ice cream is my least favorite type of chocolate."

"Oh geez." Eddie laughed as he continued eating his piece of cake.

'THAT'S BLASPHEMY!"

She was in a fit of giggles now. The things that came out of their mouth cracked her up so much because really, what could be more amusing than this black blob with big white eyes and sharp teeth getting upset over chocolate?

"Oh Vee." Hanna said as her laughter subsided. She laid her head on Eddie's shoulder that was covered with the symbiote. Times like this could help her forget about the awful things going on in the world.

Eddie reached his hand over to squeeze her thigh softly.

"YOU'RE LUCKY WE LOVE YOU." Venom grumbled.

Hanna squeezed Eddie's hand and snuggled her head further into his shoulder and Venom.

"I love you too."

Their night ended with watching another random movie on Netflix. They made their way to their bedroom to get ready for bed. And to do this new routine all over again tomorrow.

Thinking about this caused Hanna's anxiety to worsen again. She dreaded thinking about them leaving again. At least they weren't going out for a few hours in the middle of the night to hunt down bad guys, but it still bothered Hanna.

Sitting on the edge of the bed waiting for Eddie to come back from the bathroom, Hanna started hyperventilating. She wished she didn't feel like this. Wished she could feel normal like some people and not overthink everything that passed through her mind.

Then the tears started. Tears out of frustration and because she was scared. She wasn't just scared about anything happening to Eddie but just in general. What if things didn't get better?

"Babe, what happened?" She heard as Eddie knelt in front of her with Venom floating next to his head.

Looking up, Hanna couldn't stop the tears. "I'm scared, Eddie."

"Come here," he said as he pulled her up and onto the bed so they could lay down.

Hanna sobbed as she laid against Eddie. He pulled her into his arms as Venom placed the covers over them. Eddie felt useless, like he couldn't help. Even though all she wanted was his arms to stay wrapped around her and never leave.

Venom covered her back and vibrated softly. She calmed down a bit, but the tears kept falling.

Eddie just kept rocking her. He knew everything going on was hitting her harder and wished he could take that away.

Burying her face further into Eddie's neck, Hanna mumbled, "I'm sorry."

"Hey, none of that. Okay? It's okay to be scared, babe. Just know this isn't how things are always gonna be. Things will go back to normal. As normal as they can be. Okay?" Eddie said as he rubbed her back.

He started running his hands through her hair as he softly said, "I can't say when things will get better, babe, but they will. We're gonna be okay. I promise you that. I won't let anything happen to you."

"WE WON'T LET ANYTHING HAPPEN TO YOU. EVER."

They cuddled her until she finally fell asleep. Wrapped in their warmth where she felt safest.
