To every entity, there is an equal. Thus The Balance remains intact, delicately, teetering over the edge of the chaos of life. Of this, Aurora Morgenstern was certain.

She was also certain of whom her equal was.

In the Wizarding World, equals were a very sacred and literal affair. The lines between friend, foe, and familiar often blurred. Such was the case for Dumbledore and Grindelwald, Slytherin and Gryffindor, Merlin and Morgana.

For Ro, things only grew more complicated. She spent her entire existence under the shadow of her famed ancestor Morgana le Fay and the family curse that came with being born bearing her near exact likeness. Black of hair, Blue of eye, Dark is an heir of Morgenstern doomed to die. Her elder sister Evanora had died upon her seventeenth birthday, her magical inheritance too strong for her mortal body to contain. Ro had always been powerful- too powerful. It made all the adults wary of her, even as a child. Dark things were expected of the Morgenstern heir.

And yet, she was certain of who her equal was. What her equal was like. They were meant to balance each other out- they could not both be dark, it made no sense. It struck fear within Ro the more she spent time overthinking the endless possibilities of their intertwined fates. She couldn't bare to be the darker one, couldn't stand the thought she was destined to be so twisted that her equal would have to contain some darkness within them in order to restore The Balance.

This was the story of her dance with destiny.
