On a Friday afternoon two weeks later, Susie took a quick trip back to her hometown of Yucaipa and later that evening returned to her apartment, only this way carrying a large diaper bag and two bundles of joy along with her. When Susie walked into the apartment, all three of her roommates were waiting for her in the living room, they noticed her stumble her way through the doorway as she carried a huge bag of baby supplies and two bulky car seats veiled by blankets. Linda and Ja'Dyn sprinted over to the door and took the diaper bag and one of the car seats respectively in order to help Susie enter easier.
Susie and Ja'Dyn took the car seats to the living room and rested them on top of the coffee table nestled between the couches. The four roommates huddled around the car seats, a blue one and a pink one, in a half circle formation as Susie removed the blankets and revealed just who they were dealing with. The two babies did look like twins, identifiable as a boy and a girl, the two babies wore matching blue and pink pajamas respectively with the baby in pink sporting a pink bow attached to the bit of brown hair on the head, most likely to help differentiate who is who among the babies. The babies had soft fair skin, big green eyes, and large heads, but that was about all the similarities between the two. What immediately grabbed the attention of the girls were the reactions each baby had when the blankets were drawn down. While the baby in blue smiled, laughed, fidgeted around, and most importantly, stared at the roommates, the baby in pink just sat limply with no emotion and failed to make eye contact with any of the girls.
In an attempt to cheer the baby in pink up, Linda moved in closer to carry the baby, and said, "Don't feel sad, why don't you come with m..."
"No! Don't touch her!" Susie screamed as Linda attempted to carry the baby in pink, unfortunately, the warning came too late as a single finger of Linda's right hand touched against that baby, causing her to scream uncontrollably.
The baby in pink tossed and turned in the car seat as a blood-curdling scream rung throughout the apartment and most likely to the adjacent rooms in the complex, causing Susie to pick up the baby and declare, "Alright, no one can touch her, ever, she doesn't like it when people touch her. Only I can do it, she knows me the best."
The other roommates agreed as they did not want to deal with the screams of the baby again. The baby in pink had gotten red due to the amount of screaming so Susie took her to her room in an attempt to calm her down an keep her from hurting herself. As Susie walked away with the baby in pink, the baby in blue looked on and smiled as his sister got taken away from the living room, giggling, clapping his hands and even sticking his tongue out as he was left alone in the company of three strangers. Linda, Maya, and Ja'Dyn were worried that if they even placed a finger on the baby in blue he would also scream the roof off the apartment building, however this baby seemed to want to be carried as he put his arms out towards the girls when it was just him and them. With the baby in pink's screams still audible from down the hall, all the girls were afraid to grab the boy in blue due to fears that he too would react in the same awful, migraine-inducing way. However, in a sick twist of fate, the fact that the girls were not touching the baby in blue frustrated the baby and led him to start to scream and tumble around in his car seat.
Hoping to prevent another meltdown, Linda rushed in and swooped the baby in blue out from the car seat and began bouncing him up and down in his arms. This seemed to work as the baby in blue immediately ceased all complaints and began to giggle again. While the other baby threw a fit at the first instance of human contact, this baby not only liked it, he craved it and insisted on reciprocating the action. While Linda was busy looking at the baby in blue's bubbly saliva-covered mouth, the baby grabbed onto the dark brown curls on the side of Linda's head and began to tug on them with all his strength. Naturally, Linda screamed in slight pain, but this only made the baby in blue laugh and pull even harder next time. Maya then came in and loosened the grasp of the baby in blue's hands from Linda's hair and took him away from her, only for him to force his right index finger into Maya's left eye.
Maya screamed in pain and lifted her arm in the process, accidentally dropping the baby in blue and sending him falling towards the ground. Luckily, Ja'Dyn swooped in and grabbed the baby in blue before he could hurt himself, but for the baby this experience was more comedy than tragedy as all he did was clap his hands and giggle throughout this whole ordeal. Too traumatized by the experience, the three girls rested the baby in blue on their couch, and they watched them from there. Eventually, the screams from the baby in pink stopped when Susie got her to settle down for a nap. She exited her bedroom where the baby was napping and quietly returned to the living room where she found her roommates all around the baby in blue.
"So, I see you've become acquainted with Bill. He's much friendlier than Jill, but be careful, he can be a handful," Susie said, blissfully unaware about what had transpired just a few minutes ago.
The three girls just stared at Susie with looks of amazement on their faces since she was lecturing them on the baby, but instead of starting a fight with the roommate who brought them the necessary babies for the seminar, Linda just replied in a sarcastic-yet-stern tone, "Yeah, handful, thanks, we'll keep that in mind."
