Flowerleap opened her eyes to see Mosstalon facing her, just as they had been moments ago. She looked around to see that she was in StarClan. Her eyes widened in surprise.
"What is the meaning of this?" Mosstalon asked in her husky voice. "Why are only the two of us here?"
"I don't know," Flowerleap began to meow, but she was interrupted by a voice out of the trees.
"You have been summoned."
A pale ginger she-cat padded swiftly into view, her dark blue eyes gleaming. She padded over to the two medicine cats, and they sat neatly in a triangle.
"It's good to see you, Lilystar," Flowerleap purred, bowing her head respectfully. "I wish you were still with us in EmpireClan."
"I feel the same," Lilystar acknowledged. "However, I have not called you here to share small talk."
"A prophecy?" Mosstalon interrupted in excitement. "For just the two of our Clans?"
"Yes," the ginger leader meowed, annoyance creeping into her voice. "Would you like to stop interrupting to hear it?"
Mosstalon dipped her tabby head in submission. Lilystar stared straight at them, her smooth and beautiful voice becoming husky and similar to Mosstalon's.
"Another world, one we do not know, will rule the Clans in rain or snow. Death and North reign high and low, but one must cast the fatal blow."
Flowerleap's eyes widened, and she realized that she was shaking. She and Mosstalon exchanged quick, wide-eyed glances.
"I'll leave you two to talk about it alone," Lilystar meowed peacefully, padding back into the trees.
"A kit was born in EmpireClan yesterday," Flowerleap blurted out. "His name is Deathkit."
Mosstalon gulped, her yellow eyes wide. Flowerleap sucked in a deep breath. She had never seen the CompassClan medicine cat so afraid.
"We had a new kit born yesterday too," the brown-and-white tabby whispered. "Her name is Northkit."
