Bakugo Expelled

Chapter two: Not the best way to start the first day at a new school

Katsuki Bakugo felt rather numb to it all as he rode the train to Vulcan High, the hero high school that scooped him up after he was expelled from the school that he previously went to, that being U.A. High School. That fact in and of itself is the first reason why the explosive teen felt his spirits were so low; he was expelled from the top hero high school in Japan, even though he wasn't the only one who beat up that creep in the cafeteria in full view of well over one-hundred other students at the time.

Even though by all accounts the bastard had started it by perving towards two girls that are in U.A.'s class 1-B (one of which, Pony Tsunotori, is the girl that Bakugo had found himself having fallen in love with), even though from what Bakugo found out the creep ultimately got away from the incident without any punishment outside of what Bakugo himself and Shoto Todoroki (who had helped the explosive teen because the other girl that was being creeped on was his 1-B crush Reiko Yanagi) did to him, even though IcyHot was given what was basically a slap on the wrist for his part in the incident whereas Bakugo was, as previous stated, expelled.

The whole mess that came with being expelled was the last thing that Bakugo needed, given that his parents Masaru and Mitsuki were in the process of getting divorced. Mitsuki, who was the parent that was named as the explosive teen's primary contact/guardian, really let her son have it, and only Vulcan High scooping Bakugo up saved him from more of his mother's fury. Not even Bakugo telling her the full story around him and Todoroki beating up their fellow 1-A classmate in the cafeteria did much to ease her wrath, although it did have said desired effect on Masaru, who was loads more forgiving than his soon-to-be ex-wife, though he was still disappointed that his son was expelled from U.A.

Bakugo being scooped up by (a somewhat eager) Vulcan High did much to calm Masaru down in this regard, though.

There was one other little tidbit that was bringing down the explosive teen's attitude as he rode the train to get to his new school; the night before, his mother Mitsuki, who went to the bar to drink herself into a drunken stupor to celebrate being officially divorced from Masaru, ended up being murdered sometime after she left the bar. According to what crime scene investigators were able to collect, she was killed in the middle of the night by someone impaling her in the back with a sword. Mitsuki's body was found by some, a late thirties man with long, spiky yellow-blonde hair, who was out for a morning jog. Mitsuki was found laying face-down next to a public bench, laying in a somewhat notable pool of her own blood.

Given that Bakugo's sole remaining relative was his father Masaru, the brown-haired man ended up becoming responsible for his explosive teenage son. There was also the fact of what was to be done with all of what Mitsuki had owned before she was killed; the ashy-haired woman, when the police did some checking, was found to not have a will. Many were suspecting that Bakugo, the only relative Mitsuki had left since her now ex-husband was divorced from her, would end up receiving everything; this included all that Mitsuki got in the divorce settlement.

But there was still a few things that had to be checked, mostly to see if there was any connection between Mitsuki's murder and Masaru, in case the brown-haired man might have gone so far as to call a hit out on his now (late) ex-wife. Bakugo scoffed at the idea of his father having the balls to call a hit out on anyone; as far as Bakugo was aware, his father was the only person who had less of a spine that fucking Deku. Also, in the one-in-infinity chance that Masaru actually was connected in some way to Mitsuki's murder, then the explosive teen would decide to avenge one parent by going and killing the other, law and consequences be damned.

Bakugo shook his head, trying to rid his mind of all thoughts of a negative nature. He was about to go to Vulcan High for his first day of school at the place. He didn't want any of the extras that will be his new schoolmates thinking that he was anything like Frog Face's emo boyfriend Bird Head. He was Katsuki Fucking Bakugo, for crying out loud! The loud, proud, powerful badass who was destined to become a greater pro hero than All Might!

Bakugo needed to show all of the extras over at Vulcan that not only was he just as he was while he was at U.A., but he also had to assert his dominance, reestablish himself as the top tier alpha dog! Or at the very least establish himself as someone that should not be fucked with under any circumstances. With his determination renewed, Bakugo turned his head to look out one of the windows on the train that he was taking to get to Vulcan High, saw that the school was coming up in the background.

"Well, this is it," Bakugo thought as he picked up his backpack, which was sitting on the floor at his feet in the train that he was in. Slinging the backpack over his back, Bakugo was looking forward to how he would make anyone who so much as looked at him funny sorry for giving him a wrong look. The explosive teen walked over to one of the doors on the side of the train that he was in and, after the train came to a stop, waited for said door to open. It did, and Bakugo got off at the stop that the train came to. Turning to face the direction of Vulcan High, Bakugo began to make his way to his new school, his new destiny.

The moment that Bakugo walked through the front doors that led into the main building for Vulcan High, he was greeted by a student that was around the same age as him. This student, a boy, was fair-skinned, and he had a conceited look that could give the one that Monoma of U.A.'s class 1-B has a run for its money. This boy's blonde hair, of a similar shade as what Monoma had, was worn straight and long, about as long as U.A.'s class 1-B's Setsuna Tokage's hair. His eyes also seemed to possess similar levels of energy as Setsuna's, although the clear ego the boy had made this come off as annoying to the explosive teen.

The boy, who Bakugo suspected was essentially a copy-and-paste replica of the previously mentioned blonde hysteric holler monkey in U.A.'s class 1-B, gave Bakugo an inquisitive look as he stood in front of him. "…Yeah, you match the description that my mother gave me, no doubt about that." That line got an arched eyebrow out of Bakugo, who had no idea what this dandy clown was going on about.

The boy must have recognized the confusion in Bakugo's face, because he then gave off a somewhat self-amused, understanding laugh. "Oh, my apologies, I didn't even introduce myself first." Holding his hand out to Bakugo to offer a handshake, the boy said, "The name's Yuki Hojo. I'm certain that you've met with my mother, who is the principal of Vulcan High."

"Great, a little princeling," Bakugo thought with clear annoyance; with mommy dearest the big boss of Vulcan, Yuki probably has already asserted the kind of authority that Bakugo was aiming to get for himself. At this point, Bakugo would at best become a high-ranking follower of Yuki's, but becoming a lackey was not something that the explosive teen had in mind. Not even in the slightest.

Bakugo also kept his eye on Yuki's offered hand, never taking it. Instead, he merely looked up from the hand to meet Yuki eye-to-eye. "…Katsuki Bakugo."

"I take it you must be shy, is all," Yuki remarked in an understanding tone, lowering his offered hand, "No need to worry about any of that messy business. Just stick with me and I'll make sure that things are smoothed out for you here at Vulcan High."

Bakugo was insulted when Yuki referred to him as being shy. Still, due to a mix of wanting to avoid trouble on the first day of being at his new hero high school and the fact that he was still feeling troubled by what all he had contemplated on the train ride to said school, Bakugo didn't explode at the son of Vulcan's principal. Instead, he gave an indifferent grunt as he proceeded to follow Yuki out of the main building of Vulcan High and over to one of the buildings that was mainly classrooms.

More to his piqued curiosity than to anything else, Bakugo found the academic material that was taught at Vulcan to be somewhat easier than the level that he was presented with back at U.A. The math, English, sciences and other subjects that are regularly taught over at run-of-the-mill normal high schools seemed of a comparable level of difficulty to what Bakugo had encountered back when he and Deku were still attending Aldera Middle School. The explosive teen, however, soon learned why the difficulty level of the academic lessons at Vulcan were as seemingly low as they all were.

Vulcan favored, thus put more emphasis on, the hero-related courses.

During a free period, Bakugo was found and collected by Yuki, who took him to one of the hallways in the main building for Vulcan High. Within moments, Yuki stopped the explosive teen in front of a display case full of awards. …Or rather, an entire section of wall that was more or less one big display case of awards, medals, certificates and other such symbols that showed the heroic glory of Vulcan's students.

"Vulcan High has a long and proud history of competing against the other hero high schools of Japan in various competitions," Yuki began to explain, "A lot of our placement in the rankings of Japanese hero high schools comes from how often we win these competitions."

Bakugo would be lying if he didn't admit that he was impressed by the sheer quantity of various awards that Vulcan High had won over time. And it wasn't just quantity; a very considerable portion of the mass collection of Vulcan's symbols of glory showed that the competitive hero high school often placed very high, if not placed first. As he scanned the collection, Bakugo saw something that caught his eye.

…Or rather, it was actually a lack of something that had caught the ashy-haired teen's eye. Bakugo pointed to the large display case as he turned his head to face Yuki. "…I don't see a single award in there that suggests that Vulcan had ever shown up U.A. in any capacity." At that mention of Vulcan High's lack of glory against the top hero high school in Japan, Yuki sighed in a knowing, understanding tone.

The son of Vulcan's principal crossed his arms over his chest, a mild scowl appearing across his features as he looked at his school's award display case. "…Well, to my knowledge there has not been a single instance of any other hero high school ever getting a win against U.A. Not even Vulcan, who is regarded by many to be U.A.'s biggest rival." Gently shaking his head, Yuki let out a mildly disappointed sigh. "…Those bastards have been on that high horse of theirs for so long, I'm of the opinion that they must have super-glued their sorry rear ends on in order to stay up there permanently."

Bakugo scoffed in an indifferent tone. "Yeah, U.A. is pretty damn high, alright."

"Oh, I'm sorry," Yuki quickly said in a casually apologetic tone as he turned to face Bakugo, "I almost forgot that my mom told me that you used to go to U.A. before you started coming here to Vulcan."

The ashy-haired boy held up a hand to cut off anu further argument. "Like I give a shit about my old school anymore. With the exception of five people, the whole of U.A. can go jump off a cliff for all that I care." At the mention of those five exceptions, Bakugo reflected on them; the self-proclaimed manly guy that had crimson spikes for hair, the agreeable fellow with tape dispensers for elbows, the self-short circuiting electric idiot, the eccentric energetic girl with pink skin and hair as well as a pair of small yellow horns sticking out of said pink hair.

…The cute, bashful half-American girl who had stolen his heart.

"So you still have a couple of friends over at U.A., then," Yuki remarked. Bakugo gave a single affirmative nod, to which Yuki nodded in understanding. "I won't be one to hold your ties to U.A. that you still have against you. All that I ask is that you won't let said ties cloud your judgment whenever Vulcan has its next competition against U.A." Bakugo gave an indifferent shrug in response, given that he really couldn't care less about any manner of competition that was between hero high schools unless he was in one of said competitions himself.

If he was in such a competition, then he would be at the top in the end.

Later that day, Bakugo was in the cafeteria of Vulcan High to get lunch. Compared to Lunch-Rush's domain of power back at U.A., the Vulcan High cafeteria was of a much lower level of quality; it was of a level comparable to the average American middle school cafeteria (not that Bakugo would be able to make such a comparison, mind you). Bakugo was starting to think that Vulcan put emphasis on the heroics over everything else at a serious expense to everything that was not related to heroics.

Similar to when he was collected by Yuki a few times so far today, Bakugo found himself scooped up by the son of Vulcan's principal, and ended up being dragged over to sit with him to eat lunch. When he sat down with Yuki, Bakugo saw a number of other students were already sitting there; there was a boy with basset hound-like ears and a tail, a girl with chinchilla-like ears and a tail, and a girl that Yuki said could make up to three clones of herself. "Hey Yuki," the chinchilla girl said as she gestured to Bakugo, "Is this the new guy you told us about?"

Yuki nodded a few times in the affirmative. "Indeed. This is the guy that my mother got after hearing that he was kicked out of that bastard hellhole that is U.A." Giving Bakugo a pat on the back, Yuki said to his group of lackies, "Everyone, meet Katsuki Bakugo."

"Hey, I think I heard of him once before," the cloner girl remarked, "He did pretty well in a sports festival that U.A. hosted a while ago. I think that he actually placed first."

Bakugo simply nodded in confirmation, getting Yuki's lackies talking. As the basset hound boy started to say something abut how Bakugo could potentially be used against U.A. the next time that Vulcan competed against the top hero high school in Japan, one random girl somewhere on the far side of the cafeteria yelled, "FOOD FIGHT!" at the top of her lungs. Yes, it was a girl that was starting the food fight.

At the girl's yelling, food started flying through the air in the Vulcan High cafeteria. The two girls that were sitting with Yuki's party immediately ducked to hide under the table that they sat at, whereas Yuki, Bakugo and the basset hound boy ducked whenever a random food item came flying at any of them. As he and the two other guys were dodging food left and right, Bakugo felt that the random girl that had started the food fight in the first place reminded him of one of his old friends back at U.A., a certain pink-skinned girl.

Around a minute after the food fight started, one of the Vulcan High teachers came into the cafeteria, blowing on a whistle to get all of the students' attention and to order them to stop the food fight. Instead, a random boy saw the teacher, who didn't see him btw, and decided to chuck a half-eaten personal pizza at the teacher. The food item was sent soaring towards the teacher, who was bound to get hit by it.

…Or rather, he would have gotten hit by it, had it not been for a jetstream of black flames shooting out and striking the half-eaten personal pizza well before it would have hit the teacher. Seeing the black flames shoot out so suddenly made everyone take pause, brought the food fight to a stop all on its own. Everyone in the cafeteria turned their attention in the direction that the black flames had come from, and as such they all saw the source of said black flames, saw who it was that had just saved the random Vulcan teacher from taking a half-eaten personal pizza right to the face.

It was a fair-skinned boy that looked to be as tall as Kojiro Bondo of U.A.'s class 1-B. He had pitch black hair as long as Pony's and as wild and unruly as the messy mop of green that Izuku had. He wore a crimson red metal headband that was similar to the mask that Kirishima had, but it was only a thin band that went over the area between his hairline and forehead. A pair of little pointy horns, both very slightly curved up, stuck out, giving the look of being devil horns.

As for his outfit, the tall boy wore a form-fitting black men's tank top that had a large red pentagram in a circle in the middle, with the star in the circle being upside down. Also, the tall boy wore a pair of black baggy cargo pants (with red trimming) held up with a black belt with a seatbelt buckle for a belt buckle and a pair of black boots with crimson red boot laces. As for accessories, the tall boy wore a simple upside down pentagram necklace, and from each earlobe dangled a single upside down cross earring, both earrings being made of a pitch black metal.

This boy, who looked downright evil, was not alone; standing behind him were two other students. The first was a somewhat generic looking fellow with fair skin and collarbone-length straight black hair. He was dressed in the Vulcan High uniform, which was very similar to the uniform of U.A. students with the exception that there was no blazer jacket, and the white dress shirt in the U.A. uniform was light gray for Vulcan.

The second student behind the evil-looking fellow was a girl; this girl was fair-skinned and had black hair in a bob cut style, and she had pointy, cat-like ears sticking out of her hair from where the ears on a normal person would be. Speaking of cat-like features, the girl also had a cat-like tail that, like her hair and the fur on her cat ears, was black. Something else that was notable in regards to this girl was that she was rather obese; she looked like she had to weigh at least four-hundred pounds.

The tall boy, with a serious glare on his face, looked around the cafeteria, saw the huge mess that had been made because of that random girl that had started the food fight. "…If you all have the time to make a mess," the tall boy growled, an annoyed snarl on his face, as he addressed all of the students in the cafeteria, "Then you all have time to clean up said mess. I would rather not have to eat in filth."

Bakugo noticed that practically every last one of the useless extras in the cafeteria got right to work in cleaning up the mess that was made by the impromptu food fight. The explosive teen also noticed that a lot of the extras were frightened as they were cleaning up the mess, as if the evil-looking boy's words carried more weight than Yuki's, and Yuki was the son of Vulcan High's principal. Speaking of said boy, Yuki noticed that Bakugo was looking in the direction of the tall, evil-looking boy, as well as the normal guy and the fat cat girl.

"That tall fellow with the menacing aura is Akuma Giratina," Yuki explained to Bakugo, "The unassuming guy behind Akuma is Takeshi Kanemaru, and the well-fed girl with the two of them is Sakaki Yamamaya. They're among some of the finer talent that Vulcan High has to offer, especially so in regards to Akuma." The son of Vulcan's principal gave Bakugo a pat on his shoulder from behind. "By the way, don't go judging Akuma on his appearance alone. Despite looking every bit a villain, he is still very much on the side of heroism."

Bakugo gave an indifferent shrug. "Like I care one way or the other about his looks, or the looks of anyone else." The ashy-haired teen turned to face Yuki, gave him a curious, inquisitive look that still held a lot of seriousness. "…So those guys are elites here, huh?" Yuki nodded in the affirmative, while also adding that he and the group that he brought Bakugo to were also among the best that Vulcan High had to offer.

All that the explosive teen had to say was an amused chuckle in response, the grin on his face showing that he was happy to have gotten to some of the meat and potatoes that Vulcan High had to offer. "About damn time that I saw some of the best that this school had to offer. What do I have to do to have a go at some of you guys?" Pounding a fist into his hand, releasing a small bit of tiny explosions in the process, Bakugo said, "Because I'm itching for a fight."

Yuki, to his credit, looked amused by Bakugo's eagerness to prove himself in combat. Many of the various competitions that Vulcan competed in against other hero high schools had a tendency to be elimination-style tournaments where competitors would fight one-on-one through brackets until they got to the end. Vulcan had a few such tournaments against U.A. before Bakugo, or any of the first years, ever entered the hero high school scene. Vulcan, given that they were going up against U.A., always ended up losing in the end, but they did come closer to beating the top dog than any who had also tried their hand.

…But Bakugo had been kicked out of said top dog school himself, before he was scooped up by Vulcan. There was also the fact that Vulcan was actually set to have another tournament against U.A. where their students would compete in one-on-one matches as they worked their way through the brackets to see who would stand at the top of the award podium in the end. There was no doubt in Yuki's mind that his mother would be interested in trying to use what U.A. had discarded against them in the upcoming tournament.

However, Yuki figured that it was best to first get an idea of what exactly Bakugo was capable of. And since the ashy-haired boy himself had just expressed interest in trying his hand in some matches against the cream of Vulcan High's crop, Yuki figured that he and the rest of the best that his mother's school had to offer could just zip right over to the gymnasium to have Bakugo fight some matches.

And as this was Yuki's group, led by Yuki himself, he wouldn't even have to ask his mom for the okay first. They could just go right on in.

To the surprise of Yuki, Bakugo ended up winning every match that he fought. Yuki himself, along with Akuma, Takeshi and Sakaki, watched as the explosive teen, one after the other, took out the chinchilla girl, the cloner girl and the basset hound boy. Since he fought three matches in a row, Bakugo was exhausted by the time that he won his third match. Yuki, for fairness sake, decided that the three matches were enough to get a good read on how powerful Bakugo was, and his quirk Explosion was pretty damn impressive.

As Bakugo caught his breath, Yuki walked over to him and explained what Vulcan High was gearing up to do. The tournament against his old school piqued Bakugo's attention, with Yuki saying that U.A. was going to send in eight of its students to compete while Vulcan would be bringing eight of its own. It was going to be a simple four-round tournament, with an extra round after first place was decided to figure out third.

After he explained all of this to Bakugo, Yuki said that he, Sakaki, Akuma, Takeshi, the cloner girl, the chinchilla girl and the basset hound boy were slated to be seven of the eight Vulcan students that would be entered. The eighth spot was yet to be determined, but Yuki proceeded to explain that he was very certain that Bakugo, given that he had just proven his mettle, could very easily be given that eighth spot on the Vulcan High team.

"That is," Yuki remarked, the look on his face and hint in his tone both sly, "Of course, if you think that you can stand giving your old schoolmates over at U.A. a thrashing, if you can stand making your old school regret their decision to kick you out in the first place."

The ashy-haired boy found his interest piqued by the idea of being given the chance to make U.A. regret expelling him. Bakugo found himself wanting revenge for the high and mighty U.A. deciding that he was not worth their effort, instead deciding to keep both the Son of Endeavor (probably because daddy dearest was the current number one pro hero) and the fucking creep that inspired Bakugo to shit-stomp him in the U.A. cafeteria on that fateful day a few days ago. Seriously, where was their punishments in the whole ordeal?

Bakugo, despite being exhausted from having fought and won three matches in a row, gave the son of Vulcan's principal a self-amused, somewhat toothy grin. "…If you can make it happen for me to make my old school regret kicking me to the curb, then I'll kick to the curb whoever I end up facing in the tournament." Bakugo pounded a fist into his hand, releasing a few small sparks of explosions in the process.

Yuki could only give an amused grin in response.

Bakugo felt pretty damn good after his first official day as a student over at Vulcan High. So much so that when he got home and was hit by everything related to his mother Mitsuki being found murdered much earlier that morning, a lot of the wind that was in his sails suddenly left, bringing the ashy-haired teen out of his accomplishment high and back to reality.

The first thing of note was that a witness to Mitsuki's murder was actually found. According to said witness, a trio of persons was stopped by a drunken Mitsuki and assaulted by her as she flew into a drunken fury. Mitsuki held her own against them until one of the members of the trio, a man with a quirk that made him a lizardman, impaled Mitsuki in the back with a katana. To the surprise of Bakugo, the trio of persons, when the witness gave descriptions on all of them, ended up confirming that they matched descriptions of members of the League of Villains.

Also, according to what the witness was able to hear, the trio of villains were, surprisingly enough, not up to anything. They were, by their own words, coming back from getting dinner out together, a dinner that was confirmed to be chicken and waffles. The villains only fought, and ended up killing, Mitsuki because she initiated the fight; the police had reason to believe that the villains would have left Mitsuki alone if she didn't attack them while she was completely shit-faced and plastered.

This discovery also cleared Masaru of being connected to his ex-wife's murder in any way. Speaking of the brown-haired man, he did indeed end up becoming the primary contact/guardian for his explosive son. Due to Mitsuki's lack of having a will, it ended up being decided that all that she owned would be inherited by Bakugo. The ashy-haired boy, as he led Masaru into what was legally his (Bakugo's) house, said that he would work out transferring ownership of various things, like the house and a car, to Masaru.

As Bakugo and his father set up dinner in the kitchen of Bakugo's house, there was a knock at the front door. Masaru went to answer it, and when he said the names of the Midoriyas out loud, Bakugo realized that he and his dad were being visited by Deku and Mrs. Midoriya. Inko, given that she was a close friend of Mitsuki's, gave condolences to the men of the Bakugo family for the loss that they had suffered.

Izuku was likewise sorry for the loss, although he gave off an air of being sorry for something else. In private with Bakugo while Masaru and Inko talked, Izuku explained to his former schoolmate that before, he only had very basic and bare facts surrounding Bakugo's expulsion from U.A. But after Uraraka filled in the finer details for him, Izuku came to realize that things should not have gone quite as they did.

"Kacchan," Izuku said, great regret clear in the green-haired cinnamon roll's voice, "I am so sorry about ever having doubting you." The explosive teen scoffed, indifferent to what fucking Deku or any other extra over at his old school thought about him. All that was on his mind was what was going to happen between Vulcan and U.A. soon, not that he was going to say anything about it to Deku.

END, CHAPTER TWO

Author's notes;

Well this chapter covers events prior to the group from Vulcan visiting U.A. for the tournament between the two schools. That tournament, which took up the first arc of 'ACTWGDIL' will end up going down completely differently here, due to Bakugo having been expelled from U.A. prior to the tournament. The lineup for both schools will change, although the only change for Vulcan is that Bakugo replaces the random boy that Yuki fought in round one.

…The lineup for U.A., on the other hand, will see a drastically huge overhaul. Similar to how it went down in 'ACTWGDIL', Izuku is one of the U.A. students that will be entered in the tournament between U.A. and Vulcan. However, unlike with how the tournament went down originally, Izuku is the only constant that isn't changed.

Three completely different class 1-A students will be entered alongside Izuku aside from Bakugo (for obvious reasons), Kirishima and Yaoyorozu. And all four of the students that class 1-B will be putting in will be completely different as well. The randomizer program that was used to pick U.A. students in a lottery-style format ends up spitting out a completely different selection due to changes in the flow of the storyline. How these changes will affect the story as a whole has yet to be seen, but the changes will be there.

Also, if any of you are surprised by this chapter coming out so soon, it's because I found myself with a lot of time off of my IRL job. My boss says the earliest I can return to work (which I am eager for) will be the beginning of April.
