Harry's POV
"Get the post, Harry" Uncle Vernon said, from behind the papers. Grumbling to himself, Harry trudged outside. Opening the mail box, he saw two letters, one for him and one for his sister.Harry picked them up and stared at it. No one, ever, in his whole life, had written to him or Madison. Who would? He had no friends or relatives he could think of. The closest friend he ever had was his sister, and they were family. Yet there they were, the letters, addressed so plainly there could be no mistake. "Hurry up boy!" Harry rushed back, filled with excitement. "Madi, catch!" He tossed her letter to her, and started ripping his own one open. " What is that? Give those to me!" Uncle Vernon shouted. He tried to snatch Madison's letter, but she nimbly darted out of the way. She too had opened to letter and was staring at it it in shock. Her already pale face went ashen, and she was distracted enough to let Uncle Vernon snatch the letter away. Harry wondered what she could have seen to make her like this. He looked back at his letter reading:
HOGWARTS SCHOOL OF WITCHCRAFT AND WIZARDRY

Yours sincerely,
Minerva McGonagall
Deputy Headmistress
His letter too was snatched out of his hands, but it was too late, both of them had read it. Harry looked at his sister in disbelief. Witchcraft and wizardry? Was he going mad? One look at Madison and he knew he wasn't the only one. However, to Harry's concern, something felt wrong with his sister. She certainly was not taking the news well. The usually unfazed-by-anything Madison looked like she was about to faint. Deciding it was best to bring her out of the room, Harry pulled her out, leaving a ballistic Uncle Vernon in it.
Madison POV
Harry guided her out, back to their shared bedroom. "It's all real... It's all real" she muttered to herself. She knew Harry was confused by both her behaviour and the letter, but she was too. Hades knew there would be a letter, if that was true the rest probably was too. She was a demigod! The worst part was, she would have to keep them from Harry. She did not know if she would be able to do that. After all, they were twins and were closer than ever. Harry broke the silence saying, "Madi are you okay?" "Fine... just shocked,"she replied. "Do you think it's real?" Harry asked. "Yes," she replied with certainty. " But would they will let us?" Madison raised an eyebrow." Of course not you dummy , they hate us," she scoffed. "We'll have to find a way to get there, without them." Harry nodded, but an unspoken question lingered. But how?
"We're leaving! Pack your things!" Uncle Vernon shouted from downstairs. "You both are not going to that freak school, we're getting out of here!" Madison rolled her eyes. Her uncle, as usual was overreacting. Wait till he found out that the gods exist and that she was half god too. She laughed to herself as she imagined how angry uncle would get. Packing her few clothes into a duffel bag, Madison turned to Harry, asking, "Any ideas for getting away from them?" "Not exactly, but they did give us a reason to pack our things." Very funny, she thought to herself. Madison couldn't imagine life without her twin. She certainly wouldn't survive the Dursleys without him. Harry seemed like the only one who could control her temper, but after all they were siblings. Madison's mind drifted back to her conversation with her father. If she was a demigod, did that mean that she had powers? She made a mental note to try those out one day, perhaps on the Dursleys.
Harry's POV
Harry listened in disbelief to Madison's so-called plan. "That's your plan? Just run away from the Dursleys and trust that those magical people will help us?""Basically!" Madison replied a bit too cheerfully "trust me lil bro!" "Brilliant,"Harry muttered, "and for goodness sake we're the same age!" " Still older!" Madison called out. Harry seriously did not understand his sister. One moment she was all shocked and faintish, and the next she was making 'brilliant' plans. Harry guessed that it was part of her nature, she was ADHD, even though he did not really know that that was the culprit . Harry sighed. A bad plan was better than no plan, he supposed. Although much like Madison, he was dying to get away from the Dursleys.
They hurriedly loaded their trunks into the car before Uncle Vernon sped off. They drove. And they drove. Even Aunt Petunia didn't dare ask where they were going. Every now and then Uncle Vernon would take a sharp turning and drive in the opposite direction for a while.'Shake 'em off … shake 'em off,' he would mutter whenever he did this. They didn't stop to eat or drink all day. By nightfall Dudley was howling. He'd never had such a bad day in his life. He was hungry, he'd missed five television programmes he'd wanted to see and he'd never gone so long without blowing up an alien on his computer. Soon, Dudley fell asleep in the car and started snoring, but Harry stayed awake. He looked at Madison, who was also still awake, and whispered, "when-" He got cut off by Madison who hissed, " once we get off this damn car" Harry once again blamed Madison's ADHD for her restlessness. Well, Harry couldn't blame her. He too was getting bored. He wished that he could fall asleep as fast as Dudley did, but he kept thinking about the letter, and what would happen to them.
