Chapter 1
"Run!"
When she woke up the tears that usually accompanied her were nowhere to be found. She felt.. well, rested. Something she usually never had the luxury to feel. Getting up from where she was lying she was greeted with a sight that she never thought she would see ever again. Her room. Was this a dream? Was that whole thing a coma induced dream? Did she simply have a long nightmare? No, that can't be it, she was about to die. She was crying and screaming for her friend who's life was just taken. So where was she now?
The door opened "Hey, Eri are you up?" Aizawa Shouta walked through the door only to see Eri staring blankly back at him.
"You okay?" he asked her with an eyebrow raised. The only thing she could do was nod slowly.
"Nemuri and Recovery Girl will be here to take you to Yuuei soon." He said walking closer to her, her stare changed from a blank one to one full of emotion. She was crying.
"Are you oka-" he touched her cheek to wipe a tear. "Your burning."
She hugged him, she hugged him very strongly, her pent up emotions all exploding in her sobs and cries.
"What's wrong with you?" he mutters to himself barely audibly as he patted her head to console her. They stayed like that for a little while before Aizawa broke away from her
"Get some more rest," he said walking to her doorframe "Recovery Girl will be here so sit tight."
She nodded "Okay, Dad." The words flew off her tongue. She hadn't heard herself say that in almost four years. When the door closed another familiar sight graced her eyes. A capture weapon, similar to the one that Eraserhead dawned most on the time, only this one was a light, baby blue. The steel wired, carbon nanofiber scarf had been a gift from Aizawa for Eri's 12th birthday, only after she begged him for one for almost six months. She spent most of the next three years, with tutelage from her adoptive father, training herself to be well versed in some martial art techniques and trying to perfect the complex maneuvers that came with using the capture scarf, all while maintaining her high GPA. She would have gotten up to get it, but a wave of fatigue suddenly washed over her. Suddenly light-headed, she reached up to touch her forehead, which was very hot. She was also probably dehydrated from crying up a storm earlier.
She fell back down to her bed and realized, she was sick. How was she sick? She never got sick unless-, then it dawned on her. "Unless I overused my quirk," she muttered aloud. She bolted right back up, instantly regretting it when her head started to ache. What was the date? She turned to the nightstand that was right next to the bed and took in another thing she thought she would never see. Her phone charging quietly. She picked it up and turned it on. April 7th, 2184. That would make her 15 years old. She had been in 2188 about to die in what felt like less than an hour ago. Had she rewound the entire world by four whole years? April 7th, that was two weeks before the Yuuei entrance exam. If she remembered correctly Recovery Girl and Midnight were supposed to come to take her to Yuuei to file her for a recommendation. And April 7th also marked a little over seven months before the Calamity took place, although she was positive that there was behind the scenes actions that led up to them. Many popular and well-known pro heroes died before he set his sights on Deku, the current number one. She would know her father was one of them. He would question her breakdown, what would she say? That it was a nightmare? Maybe she could get away with that, she did have plenty of those for many years even after she was freed from Overhaul. And more recently she had many nightmares of the night that pushed the snowball downhill. She needed to organize everything she knew. She needed to save everyone because as far she knew, she was the only one that knew. The only other person who had a chance of knowing died nine years ago. She let out a deep breath. Why couldn't anyone else have a foresight quirk? She fell down to her bed a second time. If she really did rewind the world, then that means the future was going to play out the same if she didn't do anything. So she would make changes to things, subtle changes. She needed to prove the everyone that something bad was coming. The only way she could think of was to prevent a major death. She would have to write down all the casualties that she knew of. When she wasn't victim to an aching head, maybe she should go back to sleep.
There was a knock at the door "Eri?"
"Come in," she said sitting up for the third time in like four minutes.
At the door was Aizawa accompanied by Recovery Girl.
"Your father said you were sick," She walked over as menacingly as a small old lady could.
"How are you sick?" She reached up to touch her forehead, but she was quite a distance off. "Move your head down," She moved her head down and met with Recovery Girl's wrinkled hand.
"Yes, you definitely have a fever." she sighed and planted a kiss on Eri's forehead
"Your horn is small, and you had a high body temperature" She stepped back a little. "Both are signs that you overused your quirk." Her eyes screamed at her from behind the visor, demanding an explanation.
"I-I had a nightmare" she mumbled, How did explain her quirk overuse without saying that she turned back time and making them look at her like she was crazy. Where were her stuffed animals? They weren't on her bed or on any of the shelves. Maybe that would work.
"I think I rewound all my stuffed animals out of existence." She said quietly.
Recovery Girl's expression softened noticeably. She didn't question any further, it seems that her adoptive father didn't talk to her about the breakdown that she had. Recovery Girl walked back to her bedroom door.
"You should be healed in a couple of minutes." the door begins to close "Come out when you're ready and we can talk over breakfast."
She had already felt noticeably better, the fatigue from the sickness was replaced with the milder fatigue that Recovery Girl's quirk induced. And for the first time, she stepped out of bed and took in her surroundings. She was home, and she wanted to keep it that way. She went into the bathroom to get herself ready. Everything was exactly as she remembered. She needed to save everyone, she was the only one that could. She was the only one who could change the future. Everything that happened then and there didn't matter, Because here and now would be different. She needed to change things starting now. So when she went out to join Midnight, Recovery Girl and Aizawa at the table. She started with her first change.
"I want to take the Entrance Exam."
I'm not very good at writing so bear with me here, this is just a really cool idea and I want to see it through. I can't promise frequent updates since I don't honestly have the entire story fleshed out and This does take a lot of extra world building because of its futuristic nature. I hope you enjoy it and Thank you for reading.
