Main theme: Revolution by The Beetles
Theme: Salvation from the Destiny 2 Shadowkeep soundtrack
"Your quirk is so cool, Kacchan! Hope I get mine soon!
"Whatever you get, no way it'll beat mine!"
He only had a few memories of back then.
They were faded and groggy. Picked apart and broken into fragments.
Strange. He usually has such an excellent memory.
"It's a little scary for mommy to watch... -, I think you're responsible for tens of thousands of this video's views... Again!?"
"Are you seeing this?! He's already saved a hundred people! Wow! And it's only been 10 minutes so far!"
"AND HE'S SMILING!"
"Fear not! Why, you ask? Cuz... I AM HERE!"
"HE'S SO COOOOOOL! When I get my quirk, I wanna be just like him!"
He supposed that there was really no helping it. When you go through the things that he has for so long, you're allowed a little leeway when it comes to forgetting a few details.
"I'm afraid there's no hope for him."
"!"
"No! There must be some mistake? The other kindergarteners have all started showing signs, but..."
"Pardon my asking, ma'am, but you're 4th generation, yes? As far as quirks, I mean..."
"Yes, of course... I can pull small objects towards me, and my husband can breathe fire."
"By the age of 4, a child should manifest either one of his parents' quirks of a composite of the 2. However, early quirk research discovered one important finding. It has to do with the presence or absence of the extra joint in the pinky toe (Know about this?). Humans have no need for parts they don't use, you see. And those without the joint represent the next stage of evolution."
"..."
"- here has 2 joints."
"!"
"It's becoming quite rare nowadays, but he possesses no quirk at all."
He remembered that he had a dream. No, not a dream. A goal. A wish. A promise.
"Mum..."
"..."
"No matter what kind of trouble you're in... He'll save you with a smile..."
"..."
"A super cool hero like that. That's... What I wanna be."
"!"
"..."
"I'm sorry -! I'm sorry!"
…No... No mum... That's not what you were suppose to say...
It was to be a hero.
"Ooh, another impressive quirk! You could be a hero with a flashy quirk like that, Katsuki!"
He remembered... A friend? An enemy? Someone? Anyone?
It was hard to tell nowadays.
"Didja hear? Deku doesn't have a quirk."
"Eh?"
"Right, he's quirkless."
"Sucks to be him."
Maybe it was an enemy. Sounded like it, to be honest.
"Can you stand?"
Or maybe it was a friend.
A best friend.
Or at least someone who he could call that.
Even if they hated him.
"And now, the United Nations has confirmed the Uroara virus to be a global pandemic, and are ordering that all quirkless individuals are to stay inside, and wait until the virus has burnt itself out."
"What do I do, Hisashi? I can't go out to work, in case of carrying the virus over to -, and you know the mortality rates for this thing! And everyone's in a panic out there! The heroes are having to be called in just to keep everyone from rioting."
"I don't know, Inko, I don't know. It's the same over here, everyone's in a panic, and I can't leave because they're locking their borders down. Just call the hospital, and explain the situation, I'm sure they'll understand."
"A-Alright, then... I love you."
"I love you too, sweetie. Say hi to - for me, okay?"
"Alright then. I call you later. Bye."
He didn't remember much of his life after that.
Only bits and pieces.
"Are you hearing this, Mitsuki?! They're saying that this virus thing is airborne, now!"
"I-I know, I know! I'm keeping Katsuki inside, but he's getting antsy about it. Just keep - inside, and we'll see what we can do!"
"R-Right."
To be fair, his life didn't last for very long.
"I-I don't understand! I did everything that I could! I did everything that I was told!"
M-Mum...
"Ma'am, it's not your fault."
"It is!"
Mum, please...
"Ma'am! We don't know what to do! It's our fault. We thought we were doing all that we could, but nothing's working against this thing. It's like this all over the planet."
"..."
I'm still...
"Ma'am, please don't blame yourself. I promise, we will do everything we can to for you and your family, but... I'm sorry."
I'm still here.
Not that long until he was taken.
"Are they ready?"
"Yep, just loaded up the last ones."
"Right, then let's move."
Not that long until he was prepped on the surgery tables.
"Where... Where am I?"
Not that long until he was ripped apart, dissected, and pulled to pieces.
"Don't worry, -, you are part of a greater cause, now."
Not until they stripped him of everything that he was, and left him with nothing.
"Here he is, ma'am."
"Splendid."
He couldn't even remember his old name.
Only his nickname.
"Hello there, Deku."
He looked up, his eyes heavy and dull. The room around him was a once stark, now fading white, the once blinding walls and floor and ceiling stained by red slashes and marks and blots. The lights were a dull white, with one of them flickering, and the chains that were wrapped around his arms and legs and neck were uncomfortable and heavy, weighing him down and forcing him to lean against the wall for support.
"Are you okay, brother? You look tired. Oh, Geten hit you again, didn't he?"
The girl in front of him, however, looked as pure and beautiful as ever, with short, yet lush hair, a slim body, and fitting into a long black gown that sparkled in the light and reached down to her heeled feet. She looked so out of place in a room like this.
She was beautiful, and yet, she was the ugliest person that he'd ever met.
Well, one of them.
"Don't worry, brother, I'll have a word with father and Skeptic. I know how you're Skeptic's favourite, he'll make sure that Geten leaves you alone."
He didn't give her a response. She didn't deserve it.
She thought that they were family, but they were nothing of the sort.
If she cared, then she would've let the others go.
He didn't care if he died. He'd long since stopped caring. If they kept him in exchange for letting the others go, then he would gladly let himself be tortured and ripped and sliced apart, so long as they had their freedom.
"Aside from that, how was your day, Deku? How were your lessons, and your classmates? Did you learn a lot?"
He had long passed the point of wanting to live for himself.
As long as the others were alive, then he would stay alive too.
But if he had to die for them, then he would.
He would bite his own tongue, and cut his wrists, and slit his throat, so that they might live.
He would bleed for them, he would die for them.
Even if they wouldn't do the same.
Not that he wanted them to.
"Deku, please. Talk to me, brother. I don't like it when you're quiet."
Please... Stop calling him that...
The woman knelt down and placed a hand on his cheek, gently stroking her thumb over a scar that went over his eye. Her face wore a look of sadness.
"Please, if there's anything that you need to talk about, just- Just let me know. I'm your sister, after all, and it's my duty as a sister to-"
"You're not my sister."
Deku was surprised at how much venom he still had in them. Maybe he had inherited it from his old friend from years past, whoever that friend was.
The woman reeled back, somehow surprised at his words, and her face quivered.
"Deku, please don't say that. Please don't say those things. You know how they hurt. You know how words hurt. I'm your sister, and I love you. I wouldn't be doing all of this if I didn't love you."
She clasped both of his hands with her own.
"Can't you see? All of this, all that father and I are building... All that we're doing is for you."
Deku scowled his features together, not knowing what to say next.
The woman gave him a sweet smile, "Don't worry, brother, once the global revolution wipes the earth clean of its filth, and the New Order rises to take it's place, I will be there for you when you finally take your place on the throne, and we will rule this world together, as brother and sister."
"And king and queen?" the question had no humour in it.
The woman smiled, and chuckled, "Oh no, nothing like that. I have no desire for such incestuous things. I merely wish to be your servant, your aid, your advisor, your duchess, nothing more. And do not worry, father and I are already looking to find a suitable wife for you. Or mistress. Whatever you desire, I shall fulfil for you."
The woman hugged Deku and kissed his forehead, looking at him with eyes that shone with a twisted compassion and a smile so deep and real that it threatened to swallow him whole.
"Don't worry, Deku. Soon, you will understand."
She gently took his chin between her fingers and lifted it up.
"When the New Order brings everlasting peace to the world, when you see our good work, you will understand."
She leaned forward, letting her face envelop his vision.
"And then, we will ascend, at father's blessing, and you will take your place on the throne of our new world, ready for us to transcend into a new era."
The woman let go of him and rose up, walking to the blank door in the red and white cell, before looking back to Deku, and smiling once more.
"There's a brave new world waiting for us out there", she tilted her head, "I can't wait for you to see it."
And with that, she was gone.
Leaving Deku in the cold, dull, blood stained cell once more.
Shackled…
And alone.
And here we are, the true beginning of New Order!
I have no idea why I suddenly decided to begin writing this fic. I guess I just figured that now is the time to begin getting this idea out of my head, and putting it to word.
I don't really know what else to say for this AN, as anything that I would say would seriously spoil everything that I have planned and am planning out for this story, so all that I can really say is that I hope that you will enjoy all that I shall deliver to you.
And with that, leave a review, favourite, follow, and I shall see you all next time.
Titanmaster117 out!
