When Dreams Weave

XxXx

Yami's eyes snapped open in surprise, his alarm blaring at the table top next to his bed. The teen groaned in mild tiredness, slamming his hand down on the off button of the shrieking thing, prompting it to stop its death trap noise.

Silence reigned in the moderate sized bedroom.

The teen in bed let out a sleepy moan, letting the covers fall from his pajama cladded body as he stood up and out of the covers, his hair tousled from another restless slumber because of the dreams that haunted him every night.

'What is with these dreams? Why do they keep on coming back to me? And I remember them so vividly as well '

He had found himself asking those questions almost everytime, only to come up with no answer, going in blind through a maze. It was strange to say the least, dreaming about things that didn't exist and remembering them so clearly like you've lived in it. Yami did not know if he would believe it or not, so he decided to settle with both.

Yami scratched his head and yawned, snatching his phone on the desk right beside his alarm clock, the remnants of sleep slowly leaving him in his wake. Yami tapped his phone and slid the screen open, finding that his friends had been discussing about something last night. He smiled at the messages his friends sent, shaking his head at the irony of being acquainted with troublemakers.

Jounouchi: Hey guys! Y'all wanna go and chill in this new bar I passed by?

Anzu: Really Jou? A bar? Why?

Akefia: Hell yeah! Bring it on, mutt! Do they have good beer?

Malik: Yeah I'm in.

Marik: Wherever my Malik-pretty is, I'll go. ;)

Malik: Marik!!!

Jonouchi: What'd you say Akefia?! I'm not a mutt! take that back!!

Akefia: Never!! HAHAHAHA!! :P

Jonouchi: That's it I'm telling Ryou that you'll be sleeping on the couch!

Yami bursted out into fits of chuckles. "Thief, you should really be careful on calling Jonou like that."

Akefia: ...You wouldn't...

Jonouchi: Try me.

Akefia: You're no fun!

Yami could see Akefia pouting after typing that message, and it sent uncomfortable chills down his spine. It did not suit the thief at all!

Ryou: Oh don't worry Jonouchi, he'll behave I'll make sure of it.

Akefia: NOOOOOOOOO

Jonouchi: HAHAHA thanks Ryou!

Ryou: Anytime.

Ryou: Now what's this bar you're talking about?

Jonouchi: Oh! Right!

Jonouchi: So yes about the bar... It's called "KZ's Club" and they've got good music! I was asking y'all if we could go there tomorrow, Friday evening at 6 p.m sharp?

The group chat was then filled with choruses of 'I'm in' and 'Hell yeah!' and what not. Yami sighed and smiled. He then texted his friends and put down his phone, going to the bathroom to take a shower to prepare for the day.

Yami: Of course. See you then.

"I'm going out now, Mom!" Yami called out, announcing to his mother that he was going to school, while he buckled up his shoes and stood.

A woman popped her head out from the kitchen door, her red and bleached dyed hair tied in a bun. Violet eyes staring at her son. A soft, loving smile was directed to her only child. "Have fun at school dear! Tell me everything later, okay?" she said.

Yami nodded. "I will." he slung his back pack over his shoulder and began trudging out the door, letting out a deep breath as he heard his mother say something along the lines of; 'Make sure to eat your lunch too! I love you!'

It took 15 minutes for Yami to get to school, his black leather boots pattering on the pavement as he walked. The name of his school was 'Domino High', a public school where students can wear anything they wanted. This time, Yami decided to wear a black tanktop and black jeans with a studded belt. He looked around, tilting his head as students flooded and milled around the area of the school.

Speaking of which, where were his friends? They would usually be in the corner waiting for him.

"Waiting for someone, Pharaoh?" a voice spoke near Yami's ear.

Yami jumped, letting out an unmanly squeak as he whirred around, eyes wide and his hand over his heart. "Oh my Ra!!! For fucks sake don't you scare me like that!"

Akefia let out a loud boisterous laugh, doubling over, hands clutching his stomach, gasping for breath. "Oh wow! You should've seen your face, Kokou! It was hilarious!" he cackled.

Jonouchi chuckled, hand covering his mouth. Anzu, Ryou, Marik, and Malik could only smirk at their friend's reaction.

Yami took in a deep breath and then closed his eyes. He stood still for a moment before whacking Akefia on the head with his backpack. Anyone who didn't know them watched in pity as the albino clutched his head with a pained yell.

"Ow!! What'd you do that for?!" Akefia snapped, all humor gone from his face.

Yami stuck his tongue out and pouted (cue the fangirls squealing in the background and fainting) at the other male, slinging his bag once again. "That's for sneaking up on me, you idiot."

"Hey! You were off guard can't you blame me?!"

"I will blame you for giving me a near damn heart attack, thief! You've been testy with me lately!"

"It's because you give such interesting reactions!"

Yami opened his mouth, about to retort to the other. "Do I look like a--"

"GUYS!"

Anzu's voice snapped them out of their banter, the two males looking at her with confusion etched on their faces. "What?" they asked in unison, looking grumpy and all pouty. They heard another squeal and a faint 'thump'. Probably another fangirl.

Anzu put her hands on her hips, her face scrunching in that reprimanding way, where she was about to dish out a speech. Yami and Akefia inched away, trying to be small as possible.

"Enough about the bantering we'll be late! Save it for later, we don't want people staring at us, besides, would you rather have the student body stare at you while you argue like little girls and squabble about nonsense?" she asked, raising a brow.

Yami's eyebrows shot up and he glanced over his shoulder, suddenly feeling a deep epiphany at the eyes that were trained on them. He felt heat creep up his cheeks, making him look down in utter shame. How embarrasing

Akefia grunted, feeling the stares more than saw. He briskly shrugged it off and nonchalantly said. "Meh, let them stare for all they want. They can't judge us."

Frankly he didn't care about the stares, he was used to it.

Anzu sighed, shaking her head. "Why do I even bother?" she grumbled.

Jonouchi grinned. "As much as this entertain me, I'd rather have the school day be over so I can go straight home and sleep."

Yami opened his mouth, about to reply. Only to shut it back when he looked up at the sky, narrowing his eyes, when the sky started to darken ominously. Why was this scene familiar?

A figure suddenly bumped into him, making him stumble slightly. Yami grunted and snapped his eyes to the figure who fell over.

His eyes widened when he saw his lookalike, gasping, and looking up at him with big beautiful violet eyes. The kid shook his head and quickly stood up, bowing deeply to Yami, flushing in embarrasment. "I'm so sorry!!" he squeaked out and then dashed off.

"Weird," Malik grunted. "I've never seen him around before."

Marik chimed in, a huge creepy smile on his face. "A new student to torture then?"

Yami sighed, once he snapped out of his trance. "No, Marik, no torturing students."

Marik pouted. "Pity." he grumbled and cuddled up against his 'Malik-Pretty'.

Yami hummed, and turned to where the figure disappeared to, his skin tingling as a sensation washed over him, something achingly familiar that he once knew but no longer remembered.

'Why did he look so familiar? Have I met him before?'

Yami sighed and then jerked his head to the entrance of the school hall way. "Let's go shall we?"

Choruses of groans met his ears, making him chuckle as he began walking to their lockers.

XxXx

It came as a shock when at the end of the school day, chaos ensued and screams flared about in the classrooms and hallways.

Yami was only minding his own business in the library, content to just read a book when he heard the earth shattering scream of the student body. The male whirred around in shock, his heart pounding and his adrenaline rushing as he skidded out of the door and looked around for the cause of the noise.

A loud shatter, a glass window by the sound of it, was heard along the halls, the clap of a loud ear splitting lightning and thunder shook the whole city, the screams of the students drowned out by the crackle.

Yami covered his ears and closed his eyes as another strike made itself known. The noise was dizzying and the light was blinding.

"Yami!! Where are you?!" He heard Jonouchi's voice screaming, loud enough for him to hear.

He looked around frantically, trying to find where his friend was, only to zero in on a... thing that was bright as hell like the sun come crashing down to the school. He yelped as the object landed with a loud. 'CRASH' in the back of the school, followed by another bout of thunder and lightning.

The bulbs in the hallways flickered and brightened then went out, rain beginning to patter in harsh drops, wetting the once dry city. They had gotten a black out.

Yami shook his head, snapping into action and grabbing his bag, throwing it haphazardly over his shoulder. He whipped out his phone and sent a quick message to their groupchat that he was going home and that they needn't follow him since he was safe. Tucking it safely on his pocket, hw began sprinting out of the building, the panicking students running rampant around him but Yami pushed through, not minding the shoves and throws.

No, he was more focused on the object that had crashed into the back of their school which had broken through the trees.

When Yami was outside, he had to cover his face with his arm as the winds roared harshly, trying to uproot him from his place, but the teen was stubborn and did not let himself be deterred by the winds. Instead, he pushed on, stumbling and almost falling, as he staggered to the back of the school, following a trail that did not exist, yet his body screamed to follow it, to know what was behind the school, the object that crashed in the back.

Yami grunted. "Stupid storm!" he muttered, as he pushed on.

It took a while for him to find the object (with lots of stumbling, that is), crashing from the energy drain that his body took as the winds nipped brazenly through the surroundings. His eyes automatically shut closed, gritting his teeth as he tried opening one blood red eyes to see what was in front of him.

His eyes widened in shock, his world melting before his very eyes at the figure that was splayed out before him. Red scaly tail and leathery wings, a human body in between, with eyes closed and blood starting to be washed away by the rain. Yami swore to himself.

He swore not because the figure was his exact copy,

But swore because what he thought was a legend, a myth, a dream, had slapped him in the face with something he could not process.

Osiris the sky dragon, had a human form.

Yami let a string of curses flow out his mouth, his mind not processing what the fuck was going on. Oh yeah, he was screwed, and he was still probably dreaming. 'What in the actual fuck is going on?!' His mind supplied helplessly.

Burgundy eyes of the sky beast opened, half lidded and filled with exhaustion. The head of the copy turned to Yami, eyes pleading, begging for something he could not decipher. Yami stared back, heart thumping in fear and anticipation. He could not rip his eyes away from the other figure.

The double opened its mouth, amidst the howling winds, Yami swore he heard it's voice, clear as day and fluid as water.

"Help me..."

Yami jumped into action, crawling to the figure, trying to stand up and help the man. He didn't know what was going on but staring at a bleeding man like he was a prized animal was just plain wrong and weird if he couldn't help! He was still human after all!

"Hold on, sir! I'll go call an ambulance!" he babbled, picking up the man but then getting knocked down by the wind, hissing as he was smushed on the other's chest. Stupid! He forgot he couldn't actually call someone at a time like this! He was getting soaked and the wind was chilling him to the bones.

The half-human stared at him, trying to analyze what kind of person was holding him. He grasped Yami's tanktop, catching his attention and shook his head weakly. The winds seemed to die down a little at the action the man did.

Yami got the message and groaned. He needed help, he really did! But he couldn't risk letting his friends worry. Getting up, He tried helping the man up, the other groaning softly in protest as Yami started to try and find a safe place.

Oh yeah, Yami still wasn't sure what in Ra's name was going on, his mind still had not processed what he was seeing.

He'd be damned if he didnt get some answers.
