Jason's room is hella cool. He even has his own slide.
"Percy, this is Hazel and Frank."
They both introduced themselves to me and they seem chill.
"Percy I don't wanna scare you but tomorrow might be one of the hardest days you go through here," Hazel said.
Annabeth smacked her slightly. "You really had to tell him?"
Hazel shurgged. "Why wouldn't we?"
"Because he's supposed to figure it out on his own?"
"Oh sorry your highness," Hazel replied. Dang she's brave.
Annabeth winked at her.
"What do you guys mean?"
Jason sighed. "Tomorrow all the noobies go in one room. Chiron has each person fight until one person wins, or if their power comes out, which is usually common."
"That doesn't sound that bad."
Leo snorted. "My first day, Chiron brought Clarisse, she beat me up so bad that I thought I saw heaven."
"You sure it wasn't hell?" Frank smirked.
"Ooh burn!"
Leo rolled his eyes. "I'm too hot for hell."
"Hold up, your saying I'm gonna have to fight other people?"
"Well yes, Chiron basically ranks you guys and puts you in classes based off of her your fighting skills and your power skills," Annabeth explained.
"What happens if my powers don't show up?"
"Powers are usually evoked by some type of emotion. That's why the most common way to get your power is to fight someone."
"Wait. So your saying, I, Percy Jackson, I'm gonna have to fight someone, with my bare hands. Like fight fight?"
Everyone started laughing. "Yes Percy, your gonna have to fight someone and maybe if your lucky you'll get to fight a couple other people."
Percy rolled his eyes. "Let's say I kick ass and do awesome, how does he like put me in classes?"
"There's 5 sections. It's kind of like school levels like honors, basic and below basic and stuff."
"How do they go?"
"Below basic, which is for beginners that don't really know how to fight or use their powers, or haven't even had their power come through. Basic, which is people that know how to throw a punch but not very good at it. Average, which is you know how to fight but not super good, and you can control your powers. Above average, which is when you know how to fight pretty good and you got your powers handled. Then the last one is honors, which is basically the best out of the best."
"That's a lot."
Piper snorted. "Tell me about it."
"So basically I fight for 2 minutes and then he tells me if I'm good enough? How is that gonna be accurate?"
Annabeth smiled. "It will be."
I looked around. "So what are your guys powers and what class are you guys in?"
"Well this is my second year here and I'm in above average," Leo said. "I can control fire. I know I know, it makes me 10x hotter."
Piper rolled her eyes. "Be quiet. Well you know I charm speak, I've been here 3 years and I'm also in above average."
I looked to Jason. "You?"
"Honors. I've been here 2 years and I actually have two powers."
"Stop bragging wonder boy," Leo snorted.
Jason rolled his eyes. "I can control lightening and fly. Actually so can my sister, except she can't fly."
"That's hella cool, I hope mines that cool. Chiron said mine was most likely gonna be water related."
"Oh, I'm im average and I've been here a year. I can make diamonds and stuff appear from out of the ground," Hazel said.
"She's basically a golddigger. Ha ha, get it?" Leo said.
Everyone groaned at his horrible joke.
"I'm also in average, I've been here for 8 months and I can turn into animals," Frank said.
I started to laugh. "Not gonna lie but that sounds so much better then Jason's powers."
Frank smiled. "Finally, someone realized."
"What about you, Annabeth?" I asked. I was curious. She has been pretty quiet.
"Oh. I'm not telling you my power."
"Why?"
"Because I said so. But I have been here for 8 years and I'm honors."
When I say my jaw dropped. "8 years? Your saying you've been here since you were like 3?"
"Seaweed brain, I'm not 11 years old dumbass. I've been here since I was 7."
"But why won't you tell me your power?"
"Don't push her, Percy. I tried that when I first got here and one night I woke up in the middle of Arizona," Frank said. "Scariest day of my life."
Annabeth smirked. "Your welcome for that."
"Can we let Percy figure it out himself and watch the movie?" Leo said.
Everyone agreed and sat down. I ended up sitting next to Annabeth. She's hiding something and I can feel it. I'm gonna find out what her power is and why she won't tell anyone. She's probably gonna hate me for it but there's just something about her.
i woke up and brushed my teeth and all that stupid stuff. I walked down to the locker room like Piper told me to go and there was around 10 other guys there. To think I'm gonna have to fight one of them.
Not trying to brag but I've done karate since I was in kindergarten, black belt actually. Also I've had to deal sith some, let's just say difficult people throughout my childhood, which made me stronger as a person and also a decent fighter.
I changed and accidentally bumped into some guy. Weird, I feel like I've seen him before.
"Ah, sorry," he said.
"It's cool, I'm Percy."
He looked at me weird. "I used to know someone named Percy."
"You look familiar."
"I'm Grover."
I gasped. No way in actual hell.
"Grover? Where the hell have you been. You just magically disappeared 4 years ago."
"Percy. Oh my god. I thought I'd never see you again. My mom decided to move all across the world without telling me, and she took away my phone and erased all my contacts. Talk about controlling parents."
"I missed you man. I thought you died."
Grover snorted. "I might as well have died. We moved to Texas and that place was horrible, ew too hot for me."
I rolled my eyes. "Remember when you peed your pants because it was too hot outside and you couldn't control your bladder."
"Percy."
"Yes?"
"Shut the fuck up."
"Blah Blah Blah. Whatever. So, do you know what the hell is going on?"
Grover laughed. "None. All I know is we have to take some test."
"Hello students. I'm chiron, you obviously know that. So do you know why your here?"
"Because we're troubled!"
"Close. All of you were born with unnatural powers. Some would say you were lucky but in reality your not. Every power is unique in its own way. At this school me and other mentors will teach you how to control your powers, we will also teach you how to fight and prepare for war."
"So we're like, going to war?" I asked.
Several people laughed. "Who are we gonna be fighting? The easter bunny and Santa?" Some guy next to me shouted.
We high-fived eachother. Mhm, ima need to get his name after this.
"So funny guys. But the world isn't exactly what you think it is. There are monsters out there. Human, not human."
"So we're dealing with demons?" I asked, clearly joking.
Chiron looked me dead in the eyes. "Yes. Sometimes you will be dealing with demons."
"This nightmare is getting kindaaa creepy man," Grover whispered.
"If this is all a dream. I'm gonna need therapy after this," the guy next to me whispered.
"I'm Percy, what's your name?"
"Ah, I'm Parker."
"Not gonna lie but this is starting to creep me out."
He snorted. "Same. Who knew that actually demons and shit existed."
Before I could talk back Chiron continued to talk again.
"Today each of you will be fighting until one of you gives up or until I say stop. I'll be evaluating you, putting you in separate groups. Don't be upset or over happy when you get them. They aren't permanent."
"What if we don't know how to fight?"
Chiron looked at the boy who said that and frowned. "Trust your gut. Now first we have, Trey and Percy fighting."
Great. Of course I have to go first.
"Good luck man," Grover said.
"I'm not gonna need it," I smirked.
I haven't been in a fight in like 3 days and I've been itching to punch someone.
Trey looked pretty scary, little over weight but scary guy.
"Ready, go!"
Trey started off with trying to punch me but I dodged. I stood still and waited for him to hit me again.
He glared at me. "Stop staring at me like a rag doll and fight me."
I shurgged. "No thanks." Maybe if I anger him he will make a mistake or something. Fighting isn't always about strength.
He threw another punch and I dodged again. This time he growled and something weird happened. His eyes turned red and his hands turned into swords. Oh, so I guess this is what he was talking about when he said super powers.
"Is that supposed to scare me?" I laughed. Trey was not gonna like me after this.
I decided to tackle him when he wasn't looking and punch him rivht in the nose. It started to bleed and I smirked. "Ha."
"That's enough," Chiron said.
I frowned. "But wait, I didn't figure out my power yet."
Chiron nodded. "It's alright. Now Grover and Parker will fight."
So everyone fought and everyone, everyone found their power out except me. I'm pretty mad about it. Then I remembered something Piper said to me. Or was it Annabeth?
Something about powers coming out from different emotions. Treys was obviously anger. Wonder what mine is. Chiron asked to talk to me after this school, so that obviously wasn't good.
"What can I do for you sir?" I asked.
He looked at me. "Your power didn't activate."
"Nope. Should I be worried?"
"Not at all, it happened to your father also."
I groaned. Great. I wanted to know my power now.
"Annabeth told me people tend to get their power from fighting becsuse if the emotions that come with it. What emotion caused my father to burst out with water?"
Chiron frowned. "I actually do not recall."
"Oh, well that's weird. So what did you want to talk to me about though?"
"Oh yes. I want to put you in honors."
I gasped. "Your kidding? That's for the best of the best. No one ever gets in honors their first day. Plus I don't even know my power."
Chiron smirked. "Even without your power showing I want to challenge you. I see a lot of potential in you Percy Jackson. I know you'll take a little while to get in the hang of things but you'll get there."
I smiled. "Well, thanks."
"Anytime, also let me know if anything happens, power wise."
"Of course!"
After our little chat I went right to the locker room. I smelled like a fish.
When I walked in I saw some guy pinned to the locker room by try, the guys ass I kicked.
"Hey Leave him alone," I yelled as I sweeped trey from under his feet. Naturally he fell and the guy ran away.
"What the hell did you just say to me, loser?"
I laughed. "Oh. I'm the loser? Says the one who just lost their first fight to me."
He growled. "I let you win."
"Why would you do that? Oh, that's right. You didn't. Your just too embarsssd to admit that someone's better then you."
He growled. "Watch your mouth."
I glared at him and pushed him into one of the lockers. "Listen here, you might have gotten your powers before me. But that doesn't mean you're better. I could still rip your head apart from your body and use it as a bowling ball."
"Try me."
Now I was mad. Hey, maybe I'll end up getting kicked out of this school also. It'll be my 17th school! I felt a pull from my gut and before I knew it he was drenched in water.
"ARGGG!" He said as he ran to the door.
I smirked. "Oh, looks like my power came!"
"So your saying, Chiron put you in honors? honors?" Annabeth repeated.
"Yupp. I really don't know why. I'm not even that strong and my power isn't even that good. I just got in a fight and sprayed some bully with toilet water. If that makes me worthy of being in honors then well, yeah."
"I don't believe it. What is his angle? He hasn't put a kid in honors on his first day in years. Last time I saw that happen was wth Jason."
I smirked. "I'm just that awesome."
Annabeth glared at me. "What if he knows something about you."
"Uh, I'm pretty sure he knows everything about me. He's read my file."
"No, not like that. I meant like something with the way you fight or your power. Percy, can you move the water in that cup for me?"
"Right now?"
"Yes."
I sighed. "I'll try." I looked at the water and thought about it moving, after a minute I was able to create a circle out of the water in the air.
Annabeths mouth dropped. "How were you able to do that in such little time?"
I shrugged. "No idea. Cool right?"
"Yeah, I guess you could say that."
"Wait. Because I'm in honors. Does that mean I'm gonna have classes sith you need Jason?"
Annabeth tolled her eyes and groaned. "Yes. You'll have fighting and other electives with us but you still need to be tested for smarts."
"Oh god, I'm not gonna at anything that involves thinking."
"Sucks to be you I guess."
I stuck my tongue out at her. "Whatever. Is honors hard?"
She snorted. "For me? No. For you? It's gonna be hella hard. Your gonna have to work if you wanna stay in honors. Chiron will push you down. But chiron knows something that you and I don't."
"What's that?"
She glared at me but then smiled. "I just thought of it! He did the same thing with Jason and Thalia. He somehow knew their powers were strong before they even appeared."
"Your saying that Chiron can like read our powers?"
Annabeth shurgged. "It could be his power."
"Your saying you've been here like a million years and still don't know what Chirons power is?"
"Nope."
"Speaking of powers, what's yours again?"
She rolled her eyes and crossed her arms. "Nice try."
"Why won't you tell anyone? You don't have to be embarrassed."
"I'm not. I just don't want people to know. How about this. I'll give you 3 tries. If you guess it right I'll say yes but if you don't I'll say no. But remember you only get 3 tries."
I smiled. "Can I cash them all right now or can I wait?"
"You can wait as long as you like. I assure you, you'll never know. Only one person knows what mine is and that's Chiron."
"Mhm, and soon to be me."
"In your dreams."
I winked at her.
"Ew, don't do that ever again."
"No."
She smirked. "Rest up. You've got a busy day ahead of you tomorrow."
"Why's that?"
She smirked. "Because your gonna meet Clarisse and Thalia."
"Who are they?"
She smiled. "I'll let you find out on your own."
"Should I be scared?"
"Maybe."
"Great. That's all I need."
