Chapter 2: New Powers
(The Next Morning…)
Sometime after Carrie woke up, she got dressed, found her way out of the cave, and spent some more time looking for anything that could help her survive on this island… but nothing worth of value could be found…
Carrie then arrived back on the beach of the island, where she first ended up last night, before looking up upon the horizon of the ocean before her. Carrie needed to get off the island, but wasn't too sure how to… she could try to see if she could flag down a passing boat, but then thought if someone saw her, she could be sent back to chamberlain… Carrie tried to think of what to do, to get off the island, a wave of sea water splashed against her left leg, soaking her foot & trouser leg…
"Not again…" Carrie then sighed with no surprise…
But before Carrie could do anything, red bubbles came floating from her, before her body flashed in a red watery looking transformation, reverting Carrie back to her fish like form. Carrie then gasped again in shock, as she lost her balance and fell face first into the water. Carrie then rose her head up, while spitting the salty sea water out of her mouth, before looking back down the fish half of her body. Carrie then splashed her hands in the water in frustration, grunting also in frustration. Carrie then looked back and forth, in front and behind her, trying to think how she could even get to somewhere else, if she couldn't even now walk, when…
Carrie then realised: If she's now part fish, she may be able to swim to another island, and make it there alive, hoping she'll be able to hold her breath for long periods of time…
Carrie then gave a small smile of interest and accomplishment, before she gripped her hands into sea soaked sand, and began pulling herself into the water, away from the island beach. As the water got deeper and deeper, Carrie floated on the surface, before beginning to use her arms to paddle forwards. Back and forth she paddled her arms, while trying to get her tail fins to match the swimming patterns. For several moments Carrie couldn't get herself to swim quickly enough, she even tried numerous ways of swimming that she'd learnt at school, but nothing really work. Carrie splashed her hands in frustration again…
Carrie then looked down at her tail & tail fins in the water, while looking at how she was moving them, as well as keeping herself afloat. Carrie then looked at her hands, wondering how she could get her hands and tail, even her body to all work together, but in order to try, she realised she needed to be underwater to do so… Carrie then took a massive deep breath, before diving into the water, as her tail fins shot into the air, before following her into the water. Now that Carrie was underwater, Carrie put hands together in front of her, in an arrow like pose, before she moved them, her body, and her tail & tail fins up and down, along the wave patterns that went along with her, or clashed against her. Carrie found herself going at a much better and much quicker pace underwater, causing her to smile with more accomplishment. As Carrie swam through the water, she began to see all kinds of life under the surface, as she saw all kinds of undersea life, like fishes, Seahorses & Sea Turtles, as she swam by some undersea habitat.
As she swam further through the ocean, Carrie found herself swimming near group of dolphins next to her. One for the Dolphins then noticed and swam over to Carrie in curiosity, as she squeaked at her, causing Carrie to give a slight gasp of nervousness. Carrie then slowly and gently put her hand out towards the Dolphin, as she gently stroked it in wonder, as the dolphin showed no signs of fear, enjoying the feeling from Carrie's hand. As Carrie continued to stroke the Dolphin, she started to remember again, everything that she'd been through in her life, wishing that no one would be like how they were like to her, and be like the Dolphin, showing curiosity, wonder, and no fear. Carrie then let and watched the Dolphin swim back to its group, before continuing to swim in her original direction.
As Carrie continued on swimming, concentrating on her direction, she suddenly gave a slight dash of red bubbles, as she surged forward very quickly, but then causing her to stop swimming, before making to the surface, as she took another deep breath. After just causing herself to dash like that, Carrie now wondered how she did it, and how she could do it again, as she looked down at herself, at her tail fins again. Carrie then took yet another deep breath and dived underwater again, but this time, she tried pushing her hands out numerous times, but this only made little dashes, which wasn't working very well… Carrie took a few moments to think of what she could do. Carrie then closed her eyes, before putting her arms out again, getting back into her swimming pose. Thousands of Red bubbles began forming around Carrie, while floating & popping near up to the surface…
In a sudden second, Carrie's eyes wide open, causing her shoot forward like a torpedo, as she swam forwards at an incredible speed, leaving a long trial of floating and popping red bubbles behind her. As Carrie continued swimming really fast forwards, she tried to see if she could turn in different directions. Carrie then moved slightly to her right, causing her to shoot a long way to her right at speed, so she then turned back to her left, causing her to shoot left at speed, while trying to correct her direction and navigation… Carrie eventually decided to slow down and stop, before making up to the surface, to look around and see where she now was. Carrie then looked around her, until she saw a Harbour ahead of her, connected to a town. Carrie had finally found somewhere, where she could try to be normal, but stay hidden in plain sight, hoping no one would recognise her, especially after what happened at her prom months ago… Carrie then swam off towards the harbour, while in search of somewhere she could change back to human form, without being seen…
