Summary/Disclaimer: Time for another chapter of Seabound Sweethearts. Enjoy the 900-word chapter. I don't own Azur Lane, Shanghai Manjuu, Ximen Yongshi and a few others do.

The sound of engines continued to cut through the air and caused the trio to look up.

They looked at the greenish plane who had stripes of yellow, blue and red on his arms. He had a flight jacket and tannish pants while he looked at his black boots and green fingerless gloves.

He floated down to the ocean in front of them and spun his propellers and flipped backwards before settling into the air above them. He looked down at them and hummed with amusement.

"Are you the fleet I was assigned to?" He asked. Hood looked at her.

He blinked before he hummed with annoyance and then amusement and he crossed his arms.

"I'm a prototype of the newest fighter model in the new air force for the Royal Navy… I am known as Spitfire." He crossed his arms with frustration and turned to the second and cracked his arms.

He sighed and rubbed at his eyes before lowering a pair of flight goggles over his head. He slowly circled them with the sound of his propellers filling the air. Hood looked at him with sheer confusion.

"They created air fighters? They created something that wasn't drones?" Hood asked. Spitfire turned his head to the side and started flex the cannons coming from his arms and started to float into the air.

"They created faster aircraft to rival more advanced empires and to give our naval forces an edge, I was created as a testbed for all later fighters and other models… I am the prototype into fighter technology." Spitfire smirked under his goggles before he floated further into the air.

"I'm going to do recon." Spitfire turned and flew into the distance.

He hummed and smiled while Hood turned to the group. Hood blinked in shock and sighed before turning to them.

"I want to ask what that was… I didn't know we were branching out and into the air. I… What?" Hood asked before Prince looked at Spitfire who was racing around the water.

"I think it's because we're starting to take heavy losses in the battle, do you know how to deal with a sinking ship?" Prince turned to the side while Belfast smiled.

Hood said nothing before sighing. Spitfire flew over them and hummed and spun. He crossed his arms and slowly skated around the trio of ships. Spitfire looked at them through crystal blue eyes.

He folded his arms behind him. He tapped his goggles before poking at the water with his foot.

"I saw a few ships a little while in the distance. They didn't spot me, but I don't believe I can engage them all alone and destroy them. do you believe you can help me take out a group of Destroyers and Frigates up ahead?" He asked before flexing the cannons on his arms once again.

It seemed very clear to Hood that Spitfire was looking forward to fight, not entirely because he didn't understand it… But possibly since he understood that he hadn't been tested in combat and thus wanted a challenge.

"Easy, Spits… You're going to hurt yourself if you continue to act like that." Belfast stated with amusement. Spitfire turned to her and cocked his head.

"If I continue to act like what? I'm ready to fight the enemy. I was given explosives despite them saying I originally couldn't handle them. I guess they upgraded me or something for battle." He pulled at the straps of his goggles.

"Well, you're going to get shot down and die, your fast… But are tough enough to take on the rest of the fleet?" Belfast asked.

"I believe I am… Is that a challenge, Ms.?" Belfast frowned. She chuckled in amusement a second later.

Oh, she would indeed find her new friend funny, she skated around him in a circle. She wanted to study him, find out what make him tick.

Then she would tease him to no end about it. Belfast could see no end to the pranks, the amusement… The sheer gall she had about pranking the airplane when he was close to her.

Spitfire frowned before Prince looked up at the fighter with curiosity.

"Who dispatched you here? I thought we were getting more reinforcements to deal with their fleet." Spitfire shook his head. She could see a frown pulling at his lips.

"No, we are going to make a battle plan before we engage anybody, we're warriors, not idiots. Spitfire, I am the commander of this mission, and as such? I demand you follow orders so we may smith the enemies who stand in our way. I am understood, right?" Hood asked. Spitfire turned to her with a hum at the moment. it seemed to her that he would hum every time he was confused about something.

it just made him all the more adorable and eager to talk with.

Author notes

Phew, another chapter done! I want to point out that I had no real idea what to write for this chapter and I'm sorry, next chapter will be better. Next chapter will be on next Wedensday or so and will show Spitfire talking more with the group and Hood's plan. Until then, Lighting Wolf out!

Ps: Saint Louis, Atago or another story is possibly next week.
