Storm clouds swirled in the red sky. Cordelia ran outside and saw the massive amounts of ghosts running around. They all dispersed, scattering about into every direction. Cora gasped. She was going to have to do a lot of smudging, she was sure.
She went back inside her store, hoping that she could get her sage quickly.
Once she got everything set up, the white sage burned while she made a pentagram with candles of the corresponding color to their elements and cardinal directions. It wasn't much, but it was what she could do on such short notice. It would, however, be enough to protect the store and the occupants inside.
She saw people running about and panicking.
"Please! It's safe in here! This way!"
The redhead ushered in maybe forty people, which is about half of the store's capacity. That meant there was plenty of room for her pentagram. A mother held her small child close to her.
"H-how do you know that the ghosts can't get in here?"
The blue-eyed teen smiled comfortingly. "It's okay. That," she pointed to the pentagram, "is what's keeping the ghosts out, and the sage and crystals. I've basically made this store spirit-proof. Now all we have to do is wait things out."
It was after five hours that the green dome dissipated. Cordelia smiled once everything cleared up. She assured the people that everything was taken care of, and wished them all well. Several did, however, take the time to buy several things from the shop (most of which were the items used in purifying one's house of negative spirits).
Once everyone had exited the store, the fifteen-year-old made her way back inside and phoned her mother to inform her of what had just transpired. Gwydion assured her daughter that nothing like that had happened outside of Amity Park, and that she was fine. Satisfied, the girl said her goodbyes and hung up.
She spent hours helping people around her rebuild or fix houses, other stores or property. She even went so far as to offer purification rites on residences that had accommodated spirits in the chaos that had been unleashed on the city. Slowly but surely, Amity Park began the process of healing.
I know this is really, REALLY short, but I plan on making the next chapter longer. I just didn't want to throw this character into the main plot just yet, so I kept her mostly to herself for now. That'll change soon to progress the plot.
