Chapter 2
Chapter title: The catch
As a carriage moves on a road heading in the direction of the empire the 2 drivers are ambushed by an earth dragon
"Aaaaah!" screams the two drivers
Then before the two drivers could get attacked the claw of the earth dragon is cut off
As the person who cut off the hand of the earth dragon lands, he says
"An earth dragon, this will make for great practice"
The earth dragon screams in pain and rage
"You mad of the arm?" the boy asked sarcastically to the earth dragon
Then the earth dragon slammed its other arm at the boy but he dodged it
"Don't worry I'll take care of you" says the boy as he runs up the arm of the earth dragon
Then in less than a couple of seconds the boy jumped up in the sky using the shoulder of the earth dragon and swiftly landed on the ground
After a second the immobile earth dragon suddenly had cuts all over its body, as blood gushes out of its wounds the body of the earth dragon falls dead on the ground
"Wow kid that was amazing who are you?" Asked one the amazed carriage drivers
"I'm Tatsumi remember it because the whole empire's going to know it soon" the boy named Tatsumi said
The two guards looked at each other noticing how naive the kid who saved them was
"Look kid the empire's not as amazing as it seems" says one driver
"Yeah, it may be the capital, but it has monsters far worse than these danger beast out here" says the other driver
"I don't get it danger beast pop up in the capital?" Asked the confused teen
"No far worse monsters with the face of humans who do monstrous things, it be safer if you just turned around kid" said the driver trying to warn the teen
"Well I can't turn back now since that I'm so close and me and my friends got separated so I got to go meet up with them and we made a promise to make it big in the capital so we can save our poor village" said the hard-headed teen
As the two drivers watch the teen walk in the direction of the capital, they ask each other how long they think the kid is going to last before he's killed by a corrupt noble or someone else corrupted
"come on let's get these resources to Lubbock" said one of the drivers
As Tatsumi walks through the gates of the capital entrance he's amazed at the huge buildings, stores, cafe and the amount of people
This was all amazing to the country Bumpkin, he was temporarily dazed but then decided to head to a recruitment centre
After going to the recruitment centre, he got kicked out for demanding to be a captain instead of a grunt
"Now what am I meant to do?" Asked Tatsumi to himself
After a couple of hours of asking and walking around he decided to take a rest on the side of a wall on the side of the streets
As Tatsumi closes his eyes he hears a carriage and opens his eyes and sees a carriage with guards and a blonde noble lady comes out of the carriage
"hello there, my name is Aria do you have a place to stay?" asked the blonde noble girl
"Actually, I have money, but I wasted all day trying to find a job like a bodyguard job, but I had no luck" said the tired Tatsumi
"Really? Well my family could use more guards, what do you say?" said Aria
"I be glad to, thank you" replied Tatsumi
As the guards watch the exchange between Tatsumi and Aria they feel pity for the boy for his fate would not be pleasant now that he accepted the deal
After going to Aria's mansion, he was welcomed and eventually he ate a cookie from them and after that he felt sleepy
"Wow I must be more tired than I thought, I'm thankful for your hospitality but I need to rest" said Tatsumi trying to be respectful
The noble family heard this and just stayed where they were sitting and smiled as Tatsumi moved to one of the mansions rooms but before he could get far his vision went black and he fell on the floor
"Finally, the effects kicked in now guards take him to the shed" said the Father
After a couple hours Tatsumi's conscious came around and he noticed that he was chained up
"What? What's happening" Tatsumi said to himself then the doors to the shed opened
"Ah good your awake we can begin" Aria who was accompanied by the guards who had stern faces hiding their disgust of the shed and pity for the kid
"What's happening?" asked the confused Tatsumi before he smelled something horrible and saw was else was in the shed
Blood, torture devices, bodies and more horrific sights that almost make Tatsumi vomit, then something snapped inside Tatsumi's head he knew what was happening, he knew why the carriage drivers warned him about coming to the capital this was why
"Let's get started, Guards! Get him up to one of the chairs" Aria said ignoring Tatsumi
Then the Guards came and took Tatsumi out of his cell and dragged him to a torture chair and they didn't even try since Tatsumi didn't budge because he was too weak thanks to the drugs in the cookies
The guards felt pity for the kid meanwhile Aria was giddy and was acting like a kid in Christmas eve
After getting tied up Aria was going through the different torture weapons laid over the table
"Which one Which one so many to choose" Aria said to herself
After choosing the device she would use, she held to up to show Tatsumi before she started using it, Tatsumi was keeping his mouth shut trying to not scream
That lasted only a couple of minutes
After an hour of Torture Tatsumi was a bloody mess of cuts, all over her body
"You know I shouldn't say this since I'm going to kill you, but I think you're kinda cute" Aria said with a small blush to the quiet Tatsumi
"That's why I'm only going to hurt you all over but not the face or head, feel grateful Bumpkin" said Aria to the still quiet Tatsumi
"I said be GREATFULL!" Said Aria as she stabbed Tatsumi in his thigh
"Never" Tatsumi said past all the pain
"Fine, I'll play with you a little more than let my mother inject you with poison" Aria said Disappointed that Tatsumi wasn't broken
After half an hour Aria stopped and asked, "Who is your Master?"
"Definitely not you" Replied Tatsumi with a smile
"Tch" Aria said nothing as she left Tatsumi to stay in the dark Shed for a couple more minutes before the shed doors were opened again and Aria's mother came through with a book and a small box of poisons and needles
"My, my Aria sure had fun now it's my turn" Aria's mother said before she opened the box and pulled out a needle full of a green liquid
After the injection Aria's mother noted down notes of the effects of the poison while Tatsumi was sweating profusely as his insides were burning from the poison but he did not break he tried to stay as silent as possible
"I'm done for now; I'll see if you survive tomorrow" Aria's mother said before leaving the shed
After Aria's mother left Tatsumi looked around him all the bodies and blood, he wondered why wasn't someone here to stop the family?
Meanwhile at Night Raid HQ
"Achoo!" sneezed Leone
"You okay" Asked Lubbock
"Yeah" replied Leone
"Hey, shouldn't we be going after that family?" Asked Lubbock
"Nah, let's wait a little it'll be more fun" replied Leone as she grabbed a bottle of Alcohol
Meanwhile back with Tatsumi
He was trying to break free of his restraints but was too weak and eventually he passed out from exhaustion
In his dreams he was in a dark abyss and the only thing in the abyss with him was a person in a black suit covered in chains and a red shroud and then the person jumped at him and instead of looking human like, the suit turned into a liquid substance and latched onto Tatsumi covering him in the suit
As Tatsumi woke up in a sweat from his nightmare he looked around him, he was still in the shed chained up he was now in a living nightmare
After hours of waiting the Shed doors were opened and What happened yesterday repeated, He was tortured and poisoned
But he did not break yet at least
After another couple of hours, he was feeling it, he was feeling tired he knew what it meant he was dying and he would accept it, but something happened he said in his
"NO!" He would not die, not now, not here, Tatsumi tried to stay alive all he used all his willpower to stay alive
"I will not die here; I will have my vengeance I'll do anything to stop that family" Tatsumi said to none in particular
But someone did hear, and he replied
"Anything? even your life?" said Max, the Satan of this world as he appeared out of thin air Infront of Tatsumi
As Tatsumi's willpower faded he replied "Anything"
