"What the heck?!" Piper is still staring at the massaging chair/spa her cabin mates (well, they're all really her half siblings, but she tries not to think about that) had set up in the bathroom.

"If you're going to make us practice archery, the least we could have is a spa!" Alana, the cabin's most prettiest (and stupidest) camper said.

"YEAH!" the other girls cheered.

Piper sighed. Being the head counselor of her cabin was not easy. She was barely anything like her mom, and the girls just kept annoying her. She really wanted to hand the job down to a fellow cabin mate, but she would basically be handing away her freedom. So that's the only reason she's still the counselor.

"Girls, seriously? Why do we need this stupid piece of junk? I thought we were the daughters of the goddess of beauty, not ugly." Piper said loudly. "Or is it because you just want to annoy me to death?"

The girls fell silent. Well, except for one. Alana. "Piper, please with a cherry on top?"

She was using her charm speak. Piper could tell from the soft glow surrounding Alana. Besides Piper, Alana was the only other camper who had the gift of charm speak gifted from their mother.

"Alana, you can stop now." Piper gave her a furious look. "Don't you try that again."

"Ohh, look at who's talking now," Alana smirked. She may be only twelve, but she's got some real trash-talking. Luckily, Piper was much better at it.

"Girl, from how much makeup you use, you can't even tell if you're even a daughter of Aphrodite. I thought Aphrodite's kids didn't need all this stuff. Or maybe I'm wrong. Maybe you were just born ugly? 'Cause if that's the case, then you're not doing a good job hiding it, using all that crap." Now Piper was the one smirking.

"Shut up!" Alana yelled back, her face turning red. "If you're that against beauty, then why did Mom even have you?!"

Piper felt a burst of anger. "I'm not proud of my mother, okay? She gave birth to me and I have her powers. That's it!"

"Then prove it. Prove that she's your actual mom." Alana grinned.

Piper turned slack and ran out of the bathroom. She didn't care about they would do, they can keep it! Not like she could really prove Aphrodite was mom!

Piper stopped. She then realized that she could, in fact, prove it, but she just didn't want to. She didn't want to admit she was the offspring of a charmspeaking, beautiful, vain goddess who called the "Danger Hotline" whenever she was in trouble. Unable to do anything productive. Because that wasn't what she wanted to be.

But now what?

Piper sighed. She slowed down her run to a fast walk as she climbed the hill to the Athena Parthenos. She could still remember the dangers she and her friends had gone through to find the 40-foot tall statue. To insure peace between Camp Half-Blood and Camp Jupiter. It was her favorite spot in the camp. It gave off a aura of calmness, consoling Piper whenever she was in need of it.

She sat down on the soft grass and looked up at Athena.

"What can I do now, Athena?" Piper whispered. "How can I earn the full respect I've been yearning for?"
