Hurricane's POV:
"Hurricane, get up! No, dive! The other way, bite him! Nooo. ugh."
Crystal growled. Her tail thumped impatiently on the rocky stands. I sighed, struggling to my talons, only to flop back down. A dust cloud billowed beneath my underscales. Quartz walked up , his gaze concerning and irritated.
"You're going to need to get stronger if you want to go out into the open, and much more if you want to have any chance of fulfilling the prophecy."
I huffed. Does he think that I'm not even trying!? "I know. I-I can go again."
"No, it's fine. We'll try again tomorrow. Go get some food, and see if there's anything you can do." Crystal had gotten to her talons, and started towards the exit. Quartz hesitated, then headed out after Crystal.
I felt tears well up in her eyes, and sat up angrily. I didn't want to disappoint her. I do know how important going outside is to others.
"Hey Hurri. Battle training did not go as planned?"
I blinked, focusing her gaze to the face in front of me. a lopsided grin came in view.
"Scorch. Yeah, Quartz beat me again. How do you know?"
The Skywing strugged, stretching his long neck towards the stands. The torches of fire glowed, warming the room. "Crys got her 'RAWR' face again. Only thing that could annoy her that much, especially when it's raining, is failed battle training."
"Crys in the rain again?"
Hurricane frowned. Once, when I was younger, I had gone with Crystal to see what the big deal was in flying in a storm. Nothing. The wind blew leaves and sticks in my face, and the rain beat against me in cold pitter pattering droplets. It was impossible to get the whoosh of speed you get in a river or lake.
"Hey, Hurricane. Want to get something to eat? Jade and Toffee caught a cow, and some fruit, I think."
"Sure."
With a longing glance at the training stands, I followed Scorch out the exit.
