It's 10:25 PM in the night, almost one hour left till midnight. After a humorous encounter at Ichiraku's, Naruto and Elsa are walking home…only problem is the loud honking and swearing of people from earlier was all but nonexistent now as they continue walking. The rain has all but stopped and what's left for them is what you would swear looked like a ghost town. Despite the pretty stars shimmering bright in the night sky, it did not make them any less alert of any threats that might have been looming in the shadows. They were walking side by side and surprisingly their walk was…...quiet, the initial rush of conversations ended as soon as they stepped outside Ichiraku's.
Elsa made sure her phone was kept on silent mode and hidden away in her purse, just in case it makes a noise and attracts unwanted attention. She also stayed close enough to Naruto for safe measures.
"So where do you live?" – Naruto asks, quickly turning Elsa's gaze from the front of the road to him.
"Oh, just up North Mt. Avenue, a little place known as Castilia Condos. It's nothing much, it's just a small apartment studio. I live with my sister and her fiancé and we manage, what about you?" – Elsa retorts back, Naruto's eyes widening and then rubs his chin, looking to his right.
"Funny, I used to live in Castilia growing up, had to move out as soon as I got my Officer job...and that place is on liiittle the expensive side" – Naruto says, squinting his eyes to emphasize what he said, squeezing his index finger and thumb as Elsa laughs at that remark, it is kind of expensive, she admits.
"Now I'm mostly staying in a small house near the station" - Naruto adds, Elsa's eyes widening and smiles.
"Oh, then that makes things easier for us then. If we ever decided to meet up again, I can just contact the station whenever I want to then" – Elsa chuckles, bringing her left hand up to her mouth, causing Naruto to turn and smile at her, walking backwards.
"Hey now missy, calling the station that is not an emergency related issue is a major offense. Especially if somebody else answers the phone, ya know" – Naruto says pointing his index finger at her, smirking as Elsa smiles back.
"Well I guess I'll just have to tell whoever picks up the phone that I have important business with a certain officer there, I am a CEO of a billion dollar company" – Elsa smirking at Naruto, chuckling lightly, causing Naruto to look to his right and rub his head, blushing a bit as Elsa giggles.
"Well, well, I'll have to arrest you then, for abusing your CEO powers, madam" – Naruto says, smirking at Elsa, who was giggling.
Elsa was about to retort, her lips about to open when suddenly a lone trash can fall over to their right, alerting them both.
Naruto is eyeing the surroundings like a hawk, turning his head to each corner and glancing at them for at least five seconds each as Elsa makes sure to stay close to him, behind him as she watches anything from behind that Naruto can't see.
Elsa readies herself against the unknown assailant, 'I guess those defense classes Anna forced me to take with her have finally found their use' she thought.
Naruto was quick to jump in front of her, surprising her, only to find out the culprit was just a mere street kitten, rustling up some grub it could find in that bin. Naruto and Elsa's both let out a deep sigh, Naruto smiling while Elsa eyes to kitten curiously.
It was struggling to drag whatever it had in its mouth and kept falling on its back. It had very dirty brown fur, scratches all over the body, fur missing in some parts, and it has a chipped ear, 'poor thing must've been through quite a lot', Elsa thought.
"Just a kitten, false alarm!" – Naruto says, putting his arms against his hips and smiles, surprising Elsa. She looks back to the kitten and goes over to it, slowly and carefully trying not to spook it.].
Elsa kneels a few inches in front of the kitten and hisses at her. She was unfazed by this and just smiles at it, holding out her left hand to it. The kitten tries to scratch her hand but Elsa quickly moves it away before the kitten could hit her hand, her gaze it remains the same nonetheless. Naruto sees this, gets alerted but then chuckles and makes his way towards the two. Elsa tries holding out her hand again but slower this time, the kitten stops hissing and suddenly tilts its head, Elsa does the same and it cautiously makes it way towards her. It sniffs her hand, but then rubs its head against her palm. Elsa laughs quietly as Naruto makes his way towards them, not as careful as Elsa was, spooking the kitten and it moves away from her while hissing at confused officer. Elsa's eyes widen and gives a small glare to Naruto as he stops and smiles nervously at the both of them.
"He didn't like the way you were walking, your steps frightened him" – Elsa said seriously, Naruto laughs and scratches his head, slowly kneeling besides Elsa, he sees her serious gaze and the smile disappears on his face.
"How do you know it's a 'he'?" – Naruto asks.
Elsa deadpans and points towards the kitten's sensitive 'area'. Naruto's eyes widen and was left speechless, those are the biggest set he's ever seen on a kitten! And Naruto swears he saw the kitten scoff after his initial reaction, it reminds him of his best friend somehow. He scratches his head again and smiles as Elsa tries to attempt to coo the kitten once again. This time the kitten slowly makes his makes his way towards Elsa's left hand, slowly she's able to get a hold of his head and begins rubbing it gently as he purrs.
"Well you're quite the animal expert aren'tcha?" – Naruto says laughing, Elsa shrugs and smiles, rubbing the back of the kitten's head.
"Eh, not really, my sister's fiancé has a dog so I know how to approach dogs if they're scared, never thought the same for cats honestly" – Elsa says, still rubbing the back of the kitten's head, purring as Naruto smiles.
"Scared?" – Naruto asks as the kitten gets closer to Elsa so she can also rub his back as well.
"Yes, somehow, I can feel that this little guy is….lost…." – Elsa says, there was a hint of sadness in the last part, which Naruto notices, nonetheless, the sight of Elsa petting the what seemed to be aggressive feline warmed Naruto's a heart bit, causing him to smile warmly at her.
"How can you tell?" – Naruto says, Elsa looks up at him, smiles softly, rubbing the kitten gently on his back as he continues to purr.
"I don't know, it just feels like he's looking for a way to get by? The way he kept falling down and getting back up makes it seem he's completely helpless and doesn't know what to do" – Elsa says, earning a cute little squeaky meow from the kitten, that was now happily rolling on her legs and plays with her fingers. She laughs at this, as does Naruto, whom lays on his behind, letting out a relaxed sigh.
Naruto carefully gets his right hand close to the kitten's had, which surprises the tiny feline, stopping Naruto, Elsa just giggles softly as she watches the two trying to socialize. The kitten looks up at Elsa, whom gives him a small smile in return, he looks back to Naruto and Naruto laughs softly. The kitten relaxes in Elsa's legs as Naruto begins patting and rubbing his head, causing him to purr. Naruto's breathe hitches, which Elsa notices, but then relaxes as he listens to the gentle purrs of the kitten. The kitten then begins playing with Naruto's fingers, the little guy even tries going after Naruto's take-out ramen but Naruto was quick to stop him as he goes back to purring.
The sight of the kitten cooing at Naruto's touch warmed Elsa's heart, she couldn't help but smile at the two of them. She noticed both their hesitance rather quickly and was about to do something about it, but she quickly saw how much that faded just as quickly and was replaced with friendliness. She watched Naruto's facial expression go from shocked, to curious, warm in a span of fifteen seconds after touching the tiny feline as it meows at him, causing her heart to flutter a bit.
"I see what you're saying now" – Naruto says, as he rubs the kitten's head gently, snapping Elsa out of her gaze.
"This little guy feels like he's been through a lot. The way he keeps trying to worm his way into our hands feels like he just wants somebody to come and take care of him" – this time Elsa can tell there was a hint of sadness in the last part of what Naruto just said but she just ends up smiling at him.
"Heh, well it seems like I'm not the only one who has a soft side for animals I suppose" – Elsa says blinking while giggling, smiling at Naruto. He responds with a nervous laugh as the little kitten starts playing with his fingers.
"Well it just kinda came to me, ya know? Since he's all alone out here, this late at night" – Naruto says, smiling softly at the kitten, as Elsa looks back it. He stops rubbing the kitten's head and looks at the sky, Elsa follows suit, as does the kitten.
While looking at the sky simultaneously, they see what looked like a shooting star beam across the darkness of the night, exciting Elsa a bit, getting Naruto and the kitten's attention.
"The sky's awake tonight" – Elsa mutters out and giggles, surprising Naruto.
"Uh..what?" – Naruto says, confused.
"My sister used to say that about the sky at night whenever something unusual happened" – Elsa says, going back to rub the kitten's head yet again. Naruto holds back a laugh at that weird revelation.
"Heh, sounds like your sister is a weirdo then" – Naruto says laughing, as Elsa looks at Naruto surprised, waking up the almost asleep kitten in her legs. Naruto notices Elsa's sudden change in demeanor.
"Don't worry, my friends are all weirdos to me, but I'd like to think I'm the biggest one to be perfectly honest!" – Naruto laughs, as a soft smile appears on Elsa's face and she giggles.
"That doesn't sound like something to be proud of Mr. Uzumaki" – Elsa says, smirking at Naruto, whom looks back at her with a big smile.
"Well you, Elsa, you are one of the biggest weirdos I've ever met" – Naruto declares, standing up, pointing at Elsa and shocking her. She didn't know whether that was supposed to be a compliment or an insult.
"Come on, you gotta admit, weirdos are some of the most interesting people you could ever meet. Judging from your stories about her, your sister is a huge weirdo and I've love to hang out with her if I ever did meet her" – Naruto points to Elsa and she just laughs nervously, realizing what Naruto said was indeed a compliment, causing a hint of redness to appear on her face for a second, which the kitten notices.
"Well, I wouldn't argue with that, weirdos are indeed some of the most exciting people I've ever met" – Elsa says, thinking of her current family.
Anna, Olaf and Kristoff all have something that makes them 'weird', the latter even does a weird, but cute speaking voice for his hyperactive husky. They are all indeed weird but in an endearing way. Now that just left Elsa curious as to what Naruto meant by her being one of the biggest weirdos he's ever met.
"Though I can't help but think why I ended up being one of the biggest weirdos you met as you claim" – Elsa says, smirking at Naruto, stopping his quiet laughter.
"Well for one, you're nothing at all as most people say you are, you're much more down to Earth and fun than a lot of people give you credit for, ya know" – Naruto says, earning a small blush from Elsa, whom goes back, looking at the kitten, who gives a meow in return. Elsa swears that the kitten was agreeing with Naruto with that remark.
"I was actually really nervous when I first came to introduce myself to you. I thought you were gonna pepper spray me or something to be completely honest" – Naruto says, putting his arms behind his head, laughing nervously, reddening the blush on Elsa's face even more.
"Where did you get that idea? Do I look like someone who would carry around pepper spray?" – Elsa says jokingly, which earns her tilted head and a smirk from Naruto, causing Elsa to chuckle.
"….okay, maybe I do, but only for defensive measures, it's better to be prepared than not you know" – Elsa says, stroking the kitten, Naruto laughs.
"Hey, I ain't judging, I think it's kinda cool that you always come prepared, I often just like to wing it, haha" – Naruto says, causing Elsa to widen her eyes.
"Wing it?" – Elsa asks, her and the kitten sharing a look and then they look at Naruto.
"Yeah, wing it. I still plan my actions from time to time, but I just find that I often get my best ideas during the heat of the moment, you know what I mean?" – Naruto says, chuckling, getting a smile from Elsa.
"You're just like my sister then" – Elsa says, going back to stroke the kitten's back.
"Really now?" – Naruto says, Elsa nods, the kitten looking at her.
"Yeah, I was always the one who got worried about what would happen, so I would often plan ahead. She was always more of the 'action first, think later' kind of woman. It's kind of funny actually because she's gotten really protective of me recently" – Elsa says, letting the kitten jump off her legs as she gets ready to stand up.
"Well, I can understand why. Speaking of, we probably should get going, who knows how much time we just killed just by playing with this little guy right here" – Naruto says as he pats the kitten's head. He quickly holds out his right hand to Elsa, helping her up and she dusts herself off.
Elsa rummages through her purse to see what time it is and she was surprised to learn that it's already 11:00 PM! Not to mention there's already tons of messages left by Anna that she can't even count. Anna's more than likely pacing back and forth right now in the apartment, Kristoff trying his best calming her down, and failing at that. The thought of that brings a smile to Elsa's face though it also worries her.
"Goodness you're right, we better get going!" – Elsa quickly puts her phone back into her purse as Naruto gestures his arm, telling Elsa to go first.
But before they can leave, the kitten quickly stops in front of them. Elsa and Naruto stand still and look at each other then back to the kitten. The kitten then tilts his head and rolls on his back, purring. Elsa puts her left hand on her mouth, holding her breathe as Naruto lets out a small chuckle.
"I think he wants to go with us" – Naruto says, pointing at the kitten while looking at Elsa. The kitten meows at that gesture and goes to Elsa, rubbing himself against her legs.
"I stand corrected, I think, he wants to go with you" – Naruto says, chuckling as Elsa's eyes continue to widen.
Elsa was conflicted, of course she had known this kitten would get attached to her and would love to bring him home. But on the other hand, she had never had a pet before. She likes animals and knows how to approach them, but that's different than having to actually take care of one! She needs the help of someone who's more knowledgeable with animals than her, not to mention this decision needs Anna as well. She goes down to pat the kitten on the head slowly and coos it.
"You want to go with me little guy?" – Elsa says, the kitten meows in response and purrs against her hand.
"I don't speak kitten but that was more than likely a yes" – Naruto says, smiling at Elsa, making her laugh softly as she stands up straight.
"You're quite the comedian, aren't you?" – Elsa says, Naruto giggling as she takes out her cellphone.
"Well, I try my best, anyway, what're you gonna do now? It doesn't look like you're planning on leaving this little fella here by himself" – Naruto says then looks down at the little kitten, who was trying to play with his take-out ramen as Elsa continues dialing with her phone.
Elsa checks to see if there's signal now and lucky for her there was. She finds Anna's name on her contacts and calls her, bringing her phone to her ear. Naruto goes down to play with the kitten as it tries to attack his take-out ramen, Naruto holding it up higher as the kitten tries jumping after it. Elsa waits a few seconds and finally, Anna picks up the phone, the reaction she gets is what she expected. She was quick to distance her phone away a bit from her ear as she prepares to take in Anna's expected wrath.
"WHERE HAVE YOU BEEN?!" – Anna screams onto the phone, surprising both Naruto and the kitten as Elsa giggles at her sister's wrath. She can also hear Kristoff trying to calm down the raging strawberry blonde in the background, causing Elsa to giggle even more, the kitten going to her side, looking up at her.
"Well, I kind of ran into something, you wouldn't belie-" – Elsa says, trying hard not to laugh before being interrupted by Anna.
"ARE YOU LAUGHING?! ELSA KIM JOHANSSON, DO YOU HAVE ANY IDEA HOW WORRIED I'VE BEEN?!" – Anna screams onto the phone again as Elsa tries hard again not to laugh, shushing the kitten that was trying to get her attention.
She doesn't need to be reminded of that, the hundreds of text messages that was left on her phone was enough of an indication. She's so apologizing to Kristoff after this whole ordeal, poor guy must've had an earful all night. All this while Naruto is left wondering how in the hell was Elsa able to just laugh all of this off, if he was in her shoes, he'd probably not dare go home with that screaming siren on the either side, good lord. Elsa then listens to Kristoff trying to calm his raging fiancé in the background, which works as Anna lets out a deep sigh.
"Okay, I'm sorry for yelling…..and for using your full name…..and for practically busting your eardrum-" – Anna says, trying to apologize to Elsa but she interrupts her.
"No Anna it's fine, I'm sorry too, I should've contacted you sooner but something came up and I was hoping I could get some advice" – Elsa says, calming down the curious kitten that was trying to climb up her legs. She looks at Naruto, whom just nods and takes the kitten away from her legs as they both listen to her talk to her sister.
"Advice? Advice on what?" – Anna asks.
"Is Kristoff with you right now?" – Elsa asks, giggling, she knows Kristoff is there, she just wants to make sure the poor guy was still alive after absorbing all of her sister's wrath all night.
"Elsa wants to talk to you" – Anna says on the other line, Elsa waits, she hears the phone being passed.
"Hey Elsa, what's up?" – Kristoff says, Elsa takes a deep breath and speaks.
"Don't tell Anna just yet but can the apartment handle another member right now?" – Elsa asks, Kristoff letting out a confused grunt.
"Huh, another member, are you talking about a person?" – Kristoff says, confused.
"Well you see, I may have made a little street kitten like me and it keeps trying to follow me home. I feel bad for just leaving it behind and I was thinking of maybe keeping it?" – Elsa asks, as Naruto tries to keep the restless kitten in his hands calm.
"That depends, are you prepared to spend a lot of money on it?...Oh right, I forgot who I was talking too" – Kristoff laughs as Elsa laughs with him. Kristoff clears his throat as he begins to speak again.
"Money aside, taking care of a pet is no laughing matter Elsa, it's like taking care of a kid, a kid that never grows up" – Kristoff says as Elsa lets out a sigh all while the kitten manages to get out of Naruto's grasp and gets to his take-out ramen.
"I know that but that's why I asked you first, you know a lot about taking care of pets since you have Sven, not to mention you're a licensed vet too" - Elsa says as Kristoff hums in agreement.
"True, I mean, I'm willing to help you take care of it if that's what you're really worried about….also, I know you called because you're worried about Sven at the same time" – Kristoff says as Elsa laughs.
"Don't worry, he's well behaved, he loves hanging out with cats actually, provided they're not being jerks" – Kristoff says, letting out a small laugh, as Elsa does the same as she looks towards his back, laughing at the sight of Naruto trying really hard to keep the little furball from tearing open his take-out ramen.
"Okay, then, thanks Kris, I will pay you back for this I swear" – Elsa says as Kristoff hums in agreement again.
"Anytime Els, anyway, you wanna speak to Anna now?" – Kristoff asks as Elsa nods.
"Yes, can you please give it to her, I know she probably heard some of that" – Elsa giggles as she hears Kristoff hand the phone back over to Anna.
"Just so you know, I'm still mad but yes, I'm fine with adopting a kitten. Even if I said no, you're probably gonna still keep it anyway so yes…Also you're the one who's sleeping with it" – Anna says as Elsa laughs, her sister knows her too well. And it's probably for the best since they most likely don't want the little guy to get accidentally crushed while they were asleep.
"Thanks Anna you're really awesome, I promise I'll make it up to you too, you and Kristoff. Anyways, I'll see you soon okay" – Elsa says as Anna groans. Naruto still trying to keep the kitten from tearing open his take-out ramen, yet somehow sinks his little claws into his joggers.
"You better make it back here in one-piece sis and don't forget to call okay?" – Anna says in a serious tone as Elsa nods, Naruto somehow finally getting the little furball back into his right hand.
"Okay, love ya sis" – Elsa says, she turns around and giggles at Naruto, whom smiles nervously back at her.
"Love ya too" – Anna says and then ends the call. Elsa sighs as Naruto walks towards her with the kitten in hand.
"So, you get to keep him?" – Naruto asks, Elsa turns to him and a smile appears on her face.
"I get to keep him" – Elsa says, getting the kitten from Naruto's hand and starts cooing him, earning a purr in response.
"Such an energetic little furball, you better put that thing on a leash" – Naruto says as he checks on the scratches the kitten left on his take-out ramen and clothes, dusting himself off, getting a laugh out of Elsa.
"Don't worry, I'll make sure he grows up to be a nice well-behaved little cat" – Elsa says, finally putting him down, but he quickly rubs himself against her legs.
"Speaking of, what're you gonna name him anyway?" – Naruto asks, which widens Elsa eyes. All that talk earlier and she forgot one of the most important things ever.
Elsa puts her left hand up to her chin and hums, holding her head up high. She then takes a look at the kitten, trying to see what she can call him based on a feature he has. His small roundish head, his little triangular ears with a small chip on the left. His dirty lock of brown fur with some bald spots. His small meow that lacks any ferocity yet has a really squeaky sound to it, much like the actual animal. Yes, Elsa knows what to call this little guy.
"Yes, I think I'll call him…..Bruni" – Elsa says, smiling at Naruto and then looking at the kitten. He seems to have liked it, given that he lets out a meow and then tries jumping up to Elsa, asking to be carried.
"Bruni? What kind of name is that?" – Naruto asks, earning a deadpan look from Elsa. He quickly scratches his head and laughs nervously, but then Elsa giggles and then he follows suit.
"Yeah I know, it's such an uncommon name but I like it" – Elsa says, as Naruto comes close to them, to try and pet Bruni, whom purrs in response.
"Such a weird name….but in a good way. See this is why I think you're a weirdo" – Naruto says laughing, earning a small bite from Bruni, it didn't hurt but it did make him flinch, with Elsa laughing.
"I guess Bruni doesn't appreciate people making fun of me but thanks, I think you're a big weirdo too" – Elsa says, laughing at Naruto, whom just drives his right hand to his chest.
"Got that right, we're all weirdos and that's what makes us special!" – Naruto says, earning a laugh from Elsa, who was looking at him earnestly, which Bruni notices.
Naruto gestures his hand and Elsa starts to step forward but Bruni starts getting a bit restless in Elsa's hands, meowing and trying to reach for Naruto. Elsa looks at Naruto, confused and he returns the gaze.
"What do you want little guy?" – Naruto says, walking closer to him and Elsa. Bruni stops being restless and calms down in Elsa's arms. Naruto then looks up and sees Elsa smiling down at him.
"I…I think he wants us to walk closer" – Elsa says, earning a small blush from Naruto while a satisfied meow comes out of Bruni. Naruto nods and then gestures his right hand so Elsa can walk first, and he follows close behind, the distance between them lessened.
Bruni then finds his way into Elsa's purse, poking his little head out of the opening and meowing at them both. They both stare at each other and just laugh and begin walking to Elsa's apartment.
Sooo... I suddenly just got more ideas for this story that I just had to write it out so enjoy I guess? xD
I can't promise I will be able to upload consistently though :(

(Also, gonna say it now just so everything is cleared up before it can cause any confusion. Some people wondering if this will have adult content in it but sorry to disappoint you, it won't. I just wanted to play around with their characters so this was meant to be just a wholesome story between Elsa and Naruto from the start so yeah, nonetheless, thank you for the reviews last chapter!)
