It was the end of summer before my my final year of high school. I couldn't believe that Sam (my boyfriend) and I would be graduating and going to college. Together. But this story isn't entirely about Sam and I. It is more about my step-sister Alice.

Alice and I have known each other for three years - since my parents divorced actually. We tell each other everything. In fact, Alice was one of the first - besides my dad - to know Sam and I were dating. But this day - August 20th - I had a strange feeling she was hiding something from me.

We pre-arranged for Aunt Regina, Zelena Robyn and Sam to come for dinner that evening. I cooked dinner seeing as my dad, Killian Jones (aka Hook) and my step-dad, Killian Jones (wish version), cannot cook for the life of them. I made a veggie lasagne (as Robyn doesn't eat meat) and homemade fries. And despite begging and asking, I made a lemon drizzle cake for Alice. Everyone enjoyed the meal and now we are in the lounge ready to play charades.

As we wrw playing charades, I noticed both Alice and Robyn were total wrecks; full of nerves. This isn't like them. They are usually loud and outgoing. Playing charades, we created a battle, older generation versus younger generation with the older generation totally losing before a one point difference. The final round and the decision of which generation wins lies on this round. If the younger generation didn't get this then it would go to a tie break. The final charade was 'proposal'. Sam and I were guessing whilst Alice and Robyn were giving us the clue to the charade. In a blink of an eye, both Alice and Robyn were in one knee with a ring in a box each.

Everyone was shocked and considerably quiet whilst the girls gave their speeches before - in union - saying 'yes' to each other. Everyone immediately hugged and congratulated them before Alice and Robyn asked Sam and I to be the maid/man of honour at their wedding. Everyone started a count down to the weeding as we were all excited to see the next chapter unfold for the new engaged couple. Yet, you would think, with such great news nothing bad could happen...

And that something bad happened too close the the wedding. Involving a key person...
