3 MONTHS LATER

The school was a buzz in the hallway. "Have you seen the new kids?" "I saw two of them holding hands!" I thought they were siblings?" I rolled my eyes at the gossip. Small towns feed off of new people and the unknown. I feel bad for them. My first day in this hell hole had been painful. They aren't enduring it alone at least. I thought to myself. I wonder if they act like true siblings, reflecting on my and Sarah's relationship. Which was nonexistent. She's hated me from day one.

I sat in homeroom sketching out of boredom to pass the time. The whispers all around me centered around the new mysterious students. Apparently, half the class were hoping to sleep with one if not more of the new kids. Gross.

Suddenly, a hush went through the room. I risked a glance to ensure I was indeed right. One of the new boys was in my class. I say boy loosely. The dude was huge. Broad shoulders like he should be playing as a lineman on an NFL team. He had short brown curly hair, dimples on his very handsome face, ghostly pale skin, and interesting gold eyes. After he talked to the teacher, I noticed in my peripheral vision him coming towards the back of the class where I sat.

Taking the seat across the aisle from me. I, being the nosy hypocrite I am, I risked another glance. I got caught looking at him, but to save myself from embarrassment I gave him a polite smile and went back to focus on my sketch.

The peace was nonexistent as to not 5 seconds later, I heard the click of a pair of heels and a nasally voice state, "Hi! I'm Lauren. I hope you are liking Forks."

The man beside me smiled politely and stated, "Hello, I'm Emment Cullen. My family and I moved in over the weekend and we have settled nicely. Thank you."

Lauren grinned before her face turned into what I'd assumed was her trying to be seductive, "Well, I'd be happy to help show you around school and town. Maybe we can meet up after school?" She fluttered her eyelashes at him. To me, she looked like she was having a seizure.

Emmett's smile faltered for a second before he kindly stated, "I'm sure my girlfriend Rosalie and I can explore Forks with my family."

"You're dating your sister?" Lauren seemed to blink in shock and confusion.

"Our father Carlisle and mother Esme adopted us at a young age. Jasper and Rosalie are twins, but myself and siblings are not related. "

Lauren looked at him suspiciously for a moment. She flicked her hair back and took a step placing her hand on his bicep. She started saying something softly. I noticed Emmett's mouth going into a thin line.

I decided it was time to save the poor man for this wicked witch.

Sighing dramatically I say, "Goodness Lauren, the poor guy hasn't been here for 5 minutes and you're already given him the impression that you're the town slut. I must congratulate you on this new record."

Lauren gasped in outrage. I noticed Emmett with wide eyes of surprise and then he started shaking in silent laughter.

Lauren's eyes turned to slits. "You're just jealous because you have zero chances with any of the guys at this school. Especially, any of the Cullens."

I rolled my eyes at her. "Oh, dear. There went my chances to catch your STD. As for the Cullens, I don't make it my mission to go after another girl's man. Now leave Emmett alone before this Rosalie comes beats your ass. You know what nevermind, proceed I'd enjoy the show."

Lauren scoffs and turns to stomp to her seat. Emmett looked at me with a grateful amused expression. "Thanks."

"No problem." I said with a shrug returning to my sketch.

The teacher entered and the class seemed to go on without any more drama. I was quite bored in my classes. I never found school challenging and Forks seemed to have lower academic expectations than others. I mostly doodled in my classes. The teachers gave up long ago on trying to embarrass me by calling on me in the middle of a lecture. I know all this stuff. Old turds.

I had a Cullen in each of my morning classes. Jasper was in my next class and didn't speak unless spoken too. He gave off an odd vibe. But he was as handsome as Emmett was. For adoptive siblings, they had similar characteristics but still did not look related. Jasper had honey-blond hair that laid just above his collar. He was muscular but leaner than Emmett. Like Emmett though, he had pale skin and gold eyes.

In my Spanish class, I met Rosalie Cullen. She was like a supermodel turned angel. Never before had I seen anyone as beautiful as her. Just looking at her made my self-confidence shrink to the size of a penny. She landed a glare at me before acting as though I didn't exist. Wow ok, Bitch. Next time I'll hit on your boyfriend."

Thankfully, these classes went by relatively problem-free. Walking into the cafeteria. I scanned the room to determine if I would be eating in here or not. I don't really have friends. I was the loner. It was self-imposed. The thought of getting close to another person made me ache.

I noticed the Cullens are at my usual empty table. On the inside, I made a face, but then I chide myself. They didn't know, Bella. Get over yourself. The world doesn't revolve around you.

Several of the people at the table, I had not met yet. Emmett and Rosalie were sitting nice and cozy together. Besides her was a smaller girl with pixie-like black hair. She was being held by Jasper. Lastly, there was another boy. He had bronze hair going in every direction. I couldn't help, but to give it the label sex hair. He was taller and lanky compared to Emmett. However. I could make out the muscular body through his clothes. Adonis himself is going to school with me.

I grabbed a sandwich and some water before making my way to an empty table adjacent to the Cullens. They were interestingly quiet, talking in soft voices that didn't carry to me. Well, at least they'll be good lunch neighbors. I thought to myself. Hmm... they all seem to have golden eyes. That's interesting since they are all adopted. I wonder if they wear the same color contacts. I mused to myself. I placed my earplugs in and tried to teleport away from this boring world.

ED POV

Ugh. Another high school. You would think after 100 years of being immortal, I'd have developed more patience when dealing with adolescent children. However, even though this was our 17th high school I feared my patience was growing thinner. Their vile thoughts. I shook my head in disgust. The majority of the thoughts were centered around my family and each of their sexual fantasies.

My siblings and I silently walked from my Volvo to start toward the front office. Having known each other for several decades, we did not have to communicate as normal humans would. Also, with mine and Alice's gift, it is easy for us to function with little verbal communication. Being a vampire sometimes had its perks.

Carlisle had been the first to change. Sometime in the 1600s, he was cast into this life. Alone. He was disgusted with what he had become and tried destroying himself. That was until he learned he could survive off animal blood. Carlisle was alone for several decades before he found me.

I was dying in a hospital in 1918. The Spanish influenza had already taken my parents. My mother's final wish had been for Carlisle to save me. As if she knew he had the inhuman power to do so. I saw from his thoughts just how lonely he had been. He needed a champion. So he decided to save me. I have never hated Carlisle. Though my brief rebellious stage may have had him thinking otherwise. Carlisle was my second father and I have the utmost respect for him.

Next came Esme. Carlisle came across her a decade later. At the hospital, Carlisle was working at they had wheeled her to the morgue thinking she was already dead. But Carlisle heard her heartbeat. Suddenly, my peaceful day at home is filled with screams and I had a new mother. Esme was everything one would need in a mother. Her kindness and compassion still surprised me even after all these years.

Next Carlisle found Rosalie, dying in an alleyway. Hurt by those who should have protected her. She wasn't happy with this life. That was until she found Emmett. Attacked by a bear in the woods, Rosalie found him with just moments to live. She carried him to Carlisle begging him to change Emmett. They found happiness together since then.

Alice and Jasper showed up one day on our front porch. She already knew all our names and wanted to know which room she could have.

Edward smirked at the memory. Alice spoke to the lady at the front desk, "Excuse me, we are the Cullens. This is our first day. We need our schedules, please." The lady looked up and stared in shock for a few moments. Oh my. Her thoughts found Edward's mind.

"Oh hello, dears." She stuttered after a few seconds, blinking away the daze she was in. "I have them right here for you all. We have been excitedly expecting you."

After listening to Mrs. Cope discuss our schedules and map of the school, Edward and his siblings parted ways after getting their schedules from the office.

The morning went by with little problems. Many of the students were too afraid to come near me. Their human instincts trying to tell them that I wasn't safe. Though some seemed to be more ignorant than others and walked up to me to offer a variety of services. Vile children.

I sat at a table in the cafeteria that Emmett and Alice claimed. Alice turned to me and smiled. "How were your morning classes, Edward?"

I tried my best not to sigh heavily. "It was eventful." This is when I noticed she was signing Britney Spears Oops I Did it Again in ancient Latin. I narrowed my eyes at her.

"Alice, what are you hiding." I demanded in an agitated tone.

Alice grinned a big Cheshire grin. "You'll know soon dear brother."

I shook my head and started to move the food around on my plate. We needed to keep up appearances. Humans don't need to notice we never eat. We didn't want to Volturi becoming angry at us for letting humans find out about vampires. Suddenly, I hear Emment say excitedly, "There she is Rose! She was hilarious. Calling that girl a slut to her face." His shoulders shook as he tried to keep his guffaws quiet.

Rosalie narrowed her eyes at a person behind me. "She probably just wants on your good side thinking she can sleep with you. I have my math class with her. She didn't say a word."

Edward snorted seeing the memory from her mind, "Who would, with you glaring at them like that."

Emmett interrupted quickly, in hope to stop the likely argument. "No Rosie really. She didn't hit on me once. I think you'd like her." Rosalie scoffed in offense.

"She's human Emmett." Rosalie said in a cold tone to end the conversation. Emmett began pouting.

Edward shook his head. They were vampires and they cannot have human friends. Emmett could act so childish sometimes.

Time passes too fast during lunch. Much too soon the bell rang and it was time to go to my next class. Biology.
