Hello there! Welcome to chapter 2 of my story. In this chapter we see the beginning of the battle of Christophsis and get a more in-depth analysis of Anakin's feelings and the reactions of those around him, mainly Obi Wan, to the change in his behavior. Enjoy the chapter and don't forget to review!

The Resolute, Anakin's point of view:

It's almost been an hour since my small chat with Obi Wan. I tried to figure things out and I succeeded. Partially at least. The battle of Christophsis was the one where I took Ahsoka as my apprentice. I remember myself trying to reject her at first. That wouldn't happen again. I recall she always felt the need to prove herself in my eyes, as is she thought I wasn't proud of her. She may have been wrong, but I am determined to never give her such thoughts this time around. Suddenly I heard footsteps outside my room and stayed silent for a bit, before realizing it was just my Clone Captain, Rex who had come to tell me that we were about to land. I hastily responded and started getting ready.

Three hours later, during the battle:

My men and I were moving in the upper levels of an abandoned skyscraper. Obi Wan and I had decided that a surprise attack would be the best course of action in order to fight back again the droid army of the Separatists. He and his men were holding them away from our remaining artillery while my squad and I tried to attack them from behind. Obi Wan had come up with the same plan last time and I made no change. I realized that letting some things play out the same would give me the advantage of knowing the enemy's move. Suddenly I received a warning from the Force and I knew what to do. I looked towards my troops only to find out that the Separatist ambush had countered ours yet again.

Rex-Sir! What do we do?

Anakin-I'll handle them. You retreat back to the defense line and help Obi Wan.

Fives-Sir we can't just leave you here.

Anakin-I order you to. Don't worry about me, I'll make it.

Rex-We'll be there to see it sir.

Anakin-Good. Now get back!

As if on cue one of the Separatist Rocket droids launched another missile towards us. I used the force to hold it in place and then proceeded to turn it around and launch it towards the droid. The missile hit its target, causing the robot to explode in bits. I looked back towards Rex's direction and saw that they had already left. I waited a moment to see if the droids would attack again, but they didn't. Their focus was turned on the Republic defense line bellow, the one Obi Wan was holding. I saw my former friend get hit in the shoulder by a stray blaster bolt and my anger started rising again. I used it to harness the power of the dark side and launch a barrage of Force Lighting towards the Separatist army. The result amused me. Not only did Obi Wan look more surprised than ever, but almost half of the droid army was wiped out in a single shot. I heard my communicator beep and I answered. A very surprised Obi Wan was on the one calling me.

Obi Wan-Anakin! Did you see that?

Anakin-I'm just trying to help out.

Obi Wan-That was you?

Anakin-Yeah.

Obi Wan-Don't you know that using the dark side is forbidden?

Anakin-It destroyed the droids didn't it?

Obi Wan-We are having a serious talk when the battle is over.

Anakin-Fair enough. Now if you excuse me, I have an army to wreck.

I hanged up on Obi Wan and proceeded to throw myself at the remaining droids. As Anakin Skywalker this would have definitely proven lethal but after living as a Sith Lord for five years it was little more than child's play. I kept on deflecting blaster bolts and cutting down any droid that got too close. When I finished the droid army had already retreated to a better position. I knew that they would soon deploy the energy shield just like they had last time but instead of chasing them I returned to the defense line. I could sense that the clones were shocked and when I arrived at the Command Center, I saw they were all speechless. Obi Wan practically ran across the room when he saw me. He started talking to me but I wasn't really paying attention.

Obi Wan-…so never do that again. Anakin are you listening?

Anakin-No.

Obi Wan sighed and started over. I thought that maybe I should listen to him this time around, even if I did it just to answer with something that would make him go crazy.

Obi Wan-Alright, first question. What happened up there?

Anakin-I saw you get hit and I was tried to use the force to stop the blaster bolts but well, you saw what happened.

Obi Wan-So it was not intentional?

Anakin-All I wanted to do was help you guys out.

Obi Wan-And what made you think the Dark Side was a good idea?

Anakin-Obi Wan, I won't do it again.

Obi Wan-…Fine. I forgive you.

Anakin-Thanks.

Obi Wan-At least try to control your emotions the next time.

Anakin-Will do.

Obi Wan and I retired to our respective quarters. As soon as the door closed behind me I relaxed. Honestly, Obi Wan's words had a bigger effect on me than he could know. He said he forgave me. Even if it was for a different thing those three words won't leave me, ever. I decided to meditate, because as Vader, I found it to be the best way to clear my head and relax. The only problem was that I would have to start meditating like a Jedi, something that is quite hard considering I've been doing the opposite for half a decade. Putting my thoughts aside, I sat on my bed and closed my eyes.

Hours later, Republic supply transport, Ahsoka Tano's point of view:

I was on my way to meet with Master Obi Wan Kenobi and Jedi Knight Anakin Skywalker on Master Yoda's orders. He had assigned me to deliver a message to them on Christophsis, along with supplies for the army. The transport I was on had successfully slipped through the enemy's blockade and was on its way to the Republic Command Center that was on the planet. Master Yoda had also said something that made me very excited. He said that I had been assigned to Anakin Skywalker as his new Padawan! Even now, hours after I first received the news, I couldn't stop thinking about how my apprenticeship would be. Anakin Skywalker was called "The Hero with no Fear" by many and was considered to be one of the Order's best. I was very excited to begin learning under such a great fighter. Suddenly, a transmission pulled me out of my thoughts. I answered only to find Master Kenobi on the other line.

Ahsoka-Master Kenobi. Master Yoda has sent me to deliver a message to you.

Obi Wan-I know that young one. Anakin and I will be there to greet you.

Ahsoka-Alright Master Kenobi.

Obi Wan-We will see you on the surface, youngling.

The transmission ended and the transport made its way towards the Command Center. When the ramp lowered, I saw that both Master Kenobi and Anakin Skywalker were indeed there to greet me.

Ahsoka-Hi, my name is Ahsoka Tano. I'm the new Padawan.

Obi Wan-Hello Ahsoka.

Anakin-Hi. I'm Anakin, your new Master.

Ahsoka-Hi. Um, Master Yoda has a message for you.

Obi Wan-I'll go see it. Anakin, could you show Ahsoka around?

Anakin-Sure thing. Come on Ahsoka.

Anakin showed me around the defense line. It was massive. I looked around, taking the sight in. Anakin saw I was examining my surroundings and stayed silent, waiting for me to finish. He spoke immediately after.

Anakin-The base is bigger than you thought.

Ahsoka-Yeah, it is. I never thought something except the Temple could be this big, especially on a war front.

Anakin-Yeah, you'll get used to it pretty soon.

Ahsoka-So, I should call you Master right?

Anakin-That's how it goes, my new Padawan.

Ahsoka-Alright Master.

Anakin-Follow me. I'll introduce you to my clone captain, Rex.

I followed Anakin through the compound and we soon arrived at the spot where the artillery had been positioned. I saw several clones standing guard, but one was wearing different armor than the others. He had blue markings on his helmet and he was giving orders to the other Clone Troopers. Anakin slowly approached him and I noticed that he was actively trying to be as silent as possible. Before I could ask what he was doing he jumped in the Clone's field of view, startling him.

Rex-Sir! I didn't…I didn't see you there.

Anakin-That was my intention Rex.

Rex-So I suppose the score is 4-5?

Anakin-Yes, but you won't be winning for long. I invented this game, so don't think I'll let you beat me.

Rex-It's first to 10 right?

Anakin-Yes.

Ahsoka-Master?

Anakin-Oh, right. Captain Rex this is my new apprentice, Ahsoka. Ahsoka, this is my legion's Captain, CT-7567, otherwise known as Rex.

Rex-Hello there young one.

Ahsoka-Hello Captain.

Anakin-Rex, I have to go talk with Obi Wan, can you give her a small tour?

Ahsoka-We already did that.

Anakin-You didn't let me finish Ahsoka. As I was saying, can you give her a small tour around the place and explain what you guys are working on to her?

Rex-Our duties sir?

Anakin-Yes. I'll be back in a moment.

Anakin started walking away and I turned my attention to the Captain.

Moments later, Anakin's point of view:

As I walked away from my "new" Padawan I could almost hear her ask Rex if she outranks him because she is a Jedi. When Rex first told me about it I found it hilarious and to my surprise, it was still funny. I felt a soft smile form on my face and asked myself how long had it been since I smiled. As Vader, I was physically incapable of smiling because of my badly burned body, not that there was anything in my life to smile about, and I wasn't counting the few forced smiles I had shown to Obi Wan to reassure him that I was alright after my "vision". I searched through my memories for a moment and found what I was looking for. The last thing that had made me truly smile was my wife, Padme. I had desperately tried to avoid thinking about her as both Vader and this "new" Anakin. I didn't know what to say to her when I saw her. Or what I should do in general. I stopped for a brief moment and looked around. Apparently my legs had carried me all the way to my quarters without me realizing it. I took a deep breath and sat down on the bed. I knew that I couldn't keep this whole mess a secret, especially from people like Padme and Obi Wan. They would soon realize that something was going on and the consequences of that is a topic I'd rather not think about right now. I let out a sigh and continued sitting in silence. I'd have to give all of this some thought, but that was a job for later. Right now I had to find a way to end this battle.

Five minutes later:

I walked inside the Command Center (the room) and positioned myself near the holo-table that was showcasing our battle positions. I could vaguely recall the events that had transpired on this very day, a day that I remember happening eight years ago. I started working on the attack strategy and only tweaked some very small things that would give us a tactical advantage without necessarily forcing the enemy Commander to change their tactics. This was one of the benefits on knowing the future, but also one of the greatest threats. In future battles I had to make sure I didn't change too much or the entire battle could take a very different course. As I stepped away from the holo-table Obi Wan and Ahsoka entered the room.

Ahsoka-So that's where you've been hiding Master.

Anakin-I haven't been hiding. It's called planning. You should learn to do that someday.

Ahsoka-I'm sorry my very wise Master.

Anakin-You are really snippy you know that?

Ahsoka-Maybe I do, Skyguy.

Anakin-Aright then, Snips.

Obi Wan-Great. Now I have two Anakins to take care of.

Anakin-Oh, come on Master. I wasn't that bad.

Obi Wan-You were. Especially when you pranked Master Yoda with that…

Anakin-I told you to never mention that again!

Ahsoka-Okay, now I really want to know what he did.

Anakin-Snips, we don't talk about the pranks I pulled as a Padawan. Isn't that right my dear Master?

Ahsoka-Come on. I'm your apprentice, you can tell me.

Obi Wan-Oh, Force.

Anakin-What?

Obi Wan-I just realized what I'll have to suffer through with you two.

Anakin-I'm going to ignore that. Now, I've cooked up a battle plan to counter the upcoming Separatist strike.

Obi Wan-Ahsoka, there is something you should know about Anakin's plans. Either they fail, or they are suicidal.

Ahsoka-How many times have they failed?

Obi Wan-None.

Ahsoka-And how many plans has he come up with?

Obi Wan-As many as the ships he has crashed. I've lost count, so don't ask for a number.

Anakin-Can you at least take a look at it before judging me?

Obi Wan-Oh, I don't think so.

All of a sudden I heard a loud sound and turned my gaze towards the door, only to see a Clone Trooper barging through it.

CT-1119-The Separatists are attacking! They have an energy shield sir!

Anakin-Thankfully we have a plan.

Obi Wan-Who knew that your foresight would bring good things too?

Anakin-Shut up Obi Wan.

Ahsoka-So, what's the plan?

Anakin-The shield generator has been left unguarded. The Separatists are putting all the pressure they can on us. Because of that, we only need a small strike team to break through their positions and reach the shield. Then we plant the explosives and watch the fireworks.

Obi Wan-Not bad Anakin. I thought you were going to rush them again.

Ahsoka-Rush them?

Anakin-Yeah, I practically chased their attacking forces away last time they tried.

Ahsoka-So, what do I do?

Anakin-You and Rex will take a couple of Troopers and try to reach the generator unnoticed. I'll provide a distraction while Obi Wan delays the enemy forces here.

Obi Wan-Anakin you can't just charge an entire army, especially when they are the ones attacking.

Anakin-Don't worry Master, they only thing that's going to get hurt is that droid army over there.

Obi Wan-Surely you realize that this is suicide.

Anakin-That's why everyone except Ahsoka's squad stays with you.

Ahsoka-You plan on charging them alone?

Anakin-I'm not planning it. I'm doing it right now.

As soon as I said that I started sprinting towards the battlefield and soon enough I was surrounded by droids.

Anakin-This is where the fun begins…

Hello again. I sincerely hope you enjoyed the chapter. By now you've probably understood that this chapter was a filler. The next one will cover the second half of the Battle of Christophsis and the first half of Anakin and Ahsoka's next mission, where they rescue Jabba's son. Before I go I would like to explain that there will be some major time gaps between some chapters, simply because I consider some events to be more interesting if retold with Anakin now having knowledge of the future than others. The first couple chapters will be during the Clone Wars and I'll be addressing issues like the relationship between Anakin and Padme, the Jedi Council's reactions to Anakin's new abilities and some major events like The Malevolence arc, the Battle of Umbara, the second battle of Geonosis and the death of Fives. Then we'll jump into Revenge of the Sith and see how that plays out. Goodbye until the next chapter and don't forget to review!
