AN: Nicollet doesn't have a "trailer" because it'd give away too much of her backstory which I plan to reveal later. Also please bare with me and my messy writing. :') anyways hope ya enjoy!
One. Zero.Ten.Ten years old.
"Fuck!" The pink haired girl cursed as she fell from the top of the monkey bars. On impact Keyon felt a surge of pain but something flashed through her. Her classmates began laughing amongst themselves.
"Can't handle the bars can you Bubbles?" One of the girls asked after having her fill of laughter. Another girl approached Keyon and held her hand out. She reached to grab it but the girl swiped her hand away and walked back to the bundle of students.
"She thought we'd actually help her!!" They all went back to laughing. Keyon frowned but found that she could get up fine with no help. She dusted off the white long sleeve dress everyone at the school was required to wear then walked over to a bench.
"Three, six, nine, twelve..." Keyon mumbled to herself and she swung her dangling legs back and forth.
"You okay?" A girl with short brown hair approached her, having seen Keyon's failure.
"Peachy." Keyon said, flashing the girl a wide and toothy smile.
Three years later.
"You're going to school!" Her mom yelled one morning. Keyon shook her head.
"Yes you are now go and get on that bus." Her mom demanded. Keyon rolled her eyes and complied. Except once outside she walked passed the bus stop.
"Hey Keyon where are you going!?" A familiar voice asked from the other side of the street. Keyon didn't answer, just kept walking.
She walked until she got to the forest not to far from her neighborhood and school.
Keyon believed the grimm never left the forest simply because of how lifeless and dull her neighborhood was. There's no emotion to be attracted to. Nothing for them to consume.
"Come here grimmies." Keyon beckoned, grabbing the hilt of the sword at her hip. Not a sound but her voice echoing and the subtle growl of a grimm.
"I am all yours-!" She was suddenly knocked forward by a grimm charging at her. Upon recovering she reached to unsheath her sword but it was stuck. Stupid thrift store sword. Keyon decided to unbuckle the strap and use the sword as is.
"Stupid grimm!" Keyon gripped the sheathed sword hard and began recklessly hitting the grimm.
It pushed her back with ease. Keyon felt that familiar burst of heat on her skin. Her aura.
She'd known for about a year that she has one. After the monkey bar incident she noticed a pattern of reduced pain whenever she fell or got hit by someone. A year ago she stumbled down the stairs at school but miraculously got up with little to no injuries. A classmate had seen and told her she might have an aura. Since then she's hardly been scared of a little pain.
Though nothing like this had quite pushed her aura's limits.
The grimm curled in on itself and rolled to Keyon. She jumped out of its path but that only made things worse. It kept curling into a ball and charging.
"Get away!" Keyon was now running for her life through a forest she's only ever seen the entrance of.
She felt tears well up. She choked out a sob as she continued to run.
"Mom! Dad! Somebody!" Keyon threw her sword at the grimm to put some more distance. She knew her fear was only attracting the grimm more but she couldn't help it.
"I've got you!" A glowing blade was all Keyon could make out as a figure flew passed her to cut the grimm in half.
"That was easy." The huntress said then let out a sigh. She turned her icy blue eyes to the little girl shaking behind her.
"Hello there." She bent down to be eye level with her and pushed her hood off to reveal dark blue hair pulled back into a small ponytail. "Did you try to fight that thing?"
Keyon slowly nodded her head and braced herself for the lecture.
"Well shit good job. Just don't go trying that again without a proper weapon." The huntress chuckled and gave Keyon a pat on the shoulder.
"Understood Miss...?" Keyon trailed off.
The huntress smiled then said, "Moon."
"Miss Moon." Keyon echoed.
"Anyway." The huntress stood up. "Let's get you home!"
"Yeah..." Keyon gave her a weak smile.
She got an earful later that day but couldn't stop thinking about that huntress lady. Keyon prayed she'd meet her again, she was her hero.
A few months later
"Fine."
"I can go!?" Keyon asked in disbelief. Her mother and father shared a look then nodded.
"Actually you can apply. The waiting list for these academies are sure to be long. You won't be accepted for maybe another three years."
"That's okay!" Keyon spun in pure excitement causing a gust of wind to sweep through the house. She had discovered her semblance recently and was still adjusting to it.
"Pardon me." She looked at her parents who were giving her unenthused glares.
"Till you are accepted you'll still be attending Belltower AND your weekly dance lessons will continue." Her mother pointed out.
"And no more using your semblance. Its bad enough people think you're some crazy grimm chaser. We don't need them knowing you have an active aura and semblance." Her father said from behind his newspaper.
"Understood!" Keyon smiled and ran off to her room.
Three years later
"FINALLY!" Keyon spun around excitedly, grip on the letter in her hand was firm enough to crumple it slightly.
"You got accepted?" Her mother asked in utter disbelief.
Her father shrugged and returned to his work on his computer.
"Yes! I start two weeks from now." Keyon announced, tears spilling out her crimson eyes.
"Good you'll be out of our hair for five years." Her father mumbled. Keyon picked up some of his words but ignored it, happiness overwhelming her.
"I can take my sword with me!" She touched her hip, her sword wasn't there but the thought of being able to use it in battle soon excited her even more.
"Yes yes. We're so proud of you Keyon but please do go in your room, your father and I have things to discuss." Her mother said bitterly.
"Understandable." Keyon ran off to her room, smile plastered on her face.
