The water spirit raced through the waves with a very small boat dragging behind it. The ocean was rougher than usual today. A storm had rolled in from the west, from the Dark Sea. Something was definitely wrong.

They were nearing the glacier as the horse started to slow down. He pulled the boat onto the shore and everyone got out. Olaf wandered to the entrance of the frozen river. Elsa and the others were directly behind him.

They went in with Elsa in front. She led them down as far as she had gone the last time she was there.

Ah-ah, oh-oh

"I heard it again. It's coming from deeper inside this time." She noticed an opening in the ice that she had never seen before. "It's coming from that direction."

They saw where she was pointing and they followed her down. The tunnel went in a spiral at a very steep angle going down for what seemed like forever. After hours of walking down the spiral, the ground leveled out and the tunnel opened up into a great cavern.

The wall in the far side was completely flat and clear, as if it had been carved out. The fact that it was unnaturally smooth wasn't what caught everyone's eyes.

It was the figure they saw on the other side of the ice. Or more like, in the ice. Elsa rushed to the wall to get a better look at the person in there. It was a girl, just like Gran Pabbie said, but she couldn't see anymore than that. She heard her family come up behind her to look too.

"We have to get her out of there," Kristoff said as he knelt down to go through his travel bag.

"We don't have to use your tools, Kristoff. It's ice, so I should be able to control it." Elsa closed her eyes and laid her hands on the wall. She gently moved the ice away from the girl inside, careful not to hurt her. Gran Pabbie said she was still alive, and she trusted him, they all did.

She was able to create a good-sized tunnel right up to the girl. They could now get a closer look at her. She had black, shoulder-length hair that turned to red at the tips. She wore clothing that was too strange to describe, but the one thing they did recognize for what it was, was the rose red cloak she wore.

Elsa continued digging around her. Kristoff was behind her as she released the girl from the freezing prison. He caught her and pulled her out to the cavern.

The girl was shivering and unconscious. How long had she been in there?

"We need to get her to Northuldra. Maybe Ember will be able to warm her, but we need to hurry. She might freeze to death." He picked her up with one arm on her shoulder-blades and the other under the girl's knees. They started heading back up the spiral as fast as they could.

It was another several hours before they got to the top, and after that, it was another hour or two before they made it out of the ice cave.

Ah-ah oh-oh

This time when Elsa heard it, the voice came from the girl. They put her in the boat and piled in. Kristoff put his hand, palm down, in her forehead to check her temperature.

"This isn't good, she's getting colder. We need to hurry." Elsa urged the water horse to go quickly. He ran as fast as his legs would carry him. In a few minutes, they made it back to the enchanted forest.

They were greeted by Gale and Ember, the wind and fire spirits. Anna and Kristoff pulled the girl from the boat and laid her on the shore. Ember crawled up next to her and nuzzled the side of her face.

The girl's once pale skin turned red from the spirit's touch. He pulled away and saw that the pale tone returned. She had gone from shivering to near violent jerks as her muscles contracted and released, rapidly trying to warm her.

Ember crawled onto the girl's arm and slithered up her shoulder onto her chest and curled up below her neck. She stopped shaking as the blood that was being warmed by the spirit spread throughout her body with every heartbeat.

Kristoff placed his hand on her forehead and a sigh of relief left him. He turned to the others.

"He's warming her. She's not as cold as she was before. She's going to be okay, don't worry."

"Are you sure this girl will survive?" Elsa was still worried.

"I've seen plenty of people fall into the water when collecting ice, I know what it looks like when you're not going to survive the cold."

They sat there for hours as Ember warmed the girl. Her shaking had stopped completely, but her breathing was still ragged. It took another few hours before she breathed as if she was sleeping. She looked so at peace, so calm.

The rest of them set up camp along the treeline. Kristoff gently lifted the girl and moved her out of the open air. He laid her down and covered her with the cloak she was wearing.

It was getting dark and the figures thought it would be better for the girl to not be moved anymore than necessary. They started a fire and sat around it as the day sky darkened into night.

"What do we do if she doesn't wake up?" Elsa was getting more and more worried.

"We only got her out of there today, and with how cold she was, her body will need time to recover." Kristoff explained.

Ah-ah oh-oh

They all turned to the girl. They had all heard it that time.

"What's going on? Why is the voice coming from her?" Elsa was really agitated.

Suddenly a piercing white light ripped through almost everything. They couldn't see the origin but the light covered everything within a mile of them.

The light receded as they saw the girl pressing herself against a nearby tree with her eyes wide open with shock and terror.

Kristoff jumped from the spot he was sitting at and rushed over to her. When he got within ten feet, a flurry of rose petals came from seemingly nowhere and the girl disappeared.

He looked around the area and saw her sitting on the ground a good length away with her cloak wrapped around her. He decided to approach slower this time. Elsa and Anna were on their way over as well.

The girl took notice of them and vanished in another flurry of rose petals. They followed the trail through the air and saw the girl sitting down on the ground again as she looked at them with fear in her eyes. She had no idea what was going on, where she was or who these people were.

Elsa slowly walked toward her, but stopped at a distance. She too, sat down on the ground. This girl was obviously scared out of her mind. She didn't want to add any more.

"My name is Elsa. What's yours?" She smiled as she asked her question, to introduce even the slightest bit of comfort to the situation.

"R-Ruby." She said her name in a tone that could barely be heard. Elsa smiled warmly.

"That's a pretty name, Ruby. This is my sister, Anna. Her husband, Kristoff, and this is our friend, Olaf." The respective people waved at Ruby, but Olaf just came forward and opened his arms.

"Hi, I'm Olaf, and I like warm hugs."

She retreated as the living snowman approached. He noticed and he stopped. He than backed up to give her a little more space.

"You have nothing to fear from us," Anna smiled. "We won't hurt you. If you have any questions, we'll be here so you can ask us."

"O-Okay," she replied softly. She crawled against a tree and wrapped herself tighter in her cloak with one hand, and with the other, she was clutching something around her neck. Maybe a necklace, or an amulet?

"You have very pretty eyes, Ruby." Elsa scooted a little closer.

"Th-Thank you." Her voice was barely heard. She held what was around her neck a little tighter. Elsa moved closer.

"What's that around you neck?" she asked gently. Ruby opened her hand as she looked at it. She pulled it out of her cloak and showed what looked like a faintly glowing, white crystal.

"My mother gave it to me." Elsa came a little closer to get a better look at it.

"It's very beautiful. May I look at it?" Ruby quickly withdrew the crystal necklace back into her cloak.

"N-No. It's very special to me." Elsa smiled gently again.

"I understand. If you don't want to show us anymore, we won't make you." Ruby's expression relaxed ever so slightly. "I do have a question though, Ruby."

"Wh-What is it?" She asked timidly.

"Right before you woke up, there was a white light that spread over everything. Do you know what it was?" Elsa inquired a bit more seriously.

"A white light? That sounds a lot like..." Her eyes widened as one of her hands came out of her cloak and touched her face right below her left eye.

"It couldn't have been." She spoke louder this time.

"What couldn't have been?" Elsa was confused.

They heard a low, soft growling somewhere, but Elsa couldn't tell where it was coming from. Ruby stood as soon as she heard it. Her cloak flapped behind her as she spread her arms. She was whispering no over and over again.

Elsa and the others stood up as Ruby did.

"What is it? What's wrong?" Anna was getting a strange feeling.

"Get to the edge of the water," Ruby said just loud enough to hear.

"Why, what's out there?" Olaf asked. Ruby turned toward him.

"I don't know, but you guys need to get to the shore. Please." Olaf saw the desperation in her face.

"Okay, but what are you going to do?"

"Just go. I'll take care of this."
