Chapter: 2 The briefing
The morning came which felt like days for Halvar. He was awake way before the sun even came out. His brother on the other hand was still very asleep.
Halvar looked around to find a playful way to wake up Halak. "Water is always a good idea…" As they were sleeping next to a watering hole.
Halvar reached his paw in the water and threw it at Halak waking him up instantly. Halak stood up and tried to shake himself dry. "Damn you…" His brother fell over and was laughing harder than a hyena.
Halak shot him a pissed look and kicked him. After the two calmed down, they began to head up to where their father had requested them the day before.
They reached the top exactly as the sun was coming up. King Ivan was there and had an evil grin on his face. Halak whispered to his brother "This seems suspicious." Halvar nodded and they halted in front of their father.
Ivan looked at both of them and began. "I'm glad you both made it here. This is one of the most important tasks I'm putting you up to." Halvar interrupted and asked with excitement "What would you want us to do your majesty?" Ivan gave him a look and continued. "There is a kingdom not too far away from here called the Tree of Life. I want it, but the problem is that its King is very powerful and he can defeat me. I need both of you to kill him."
This request left Halak and surprisingly Halvar astounded. Nothing has ever compared to this. The two stood at attention and Halak said "It will be done my king." Ivan gave a slight nod, and then gave his next part of the message. "I will send you with some protection until you get close enough."
Halvar bowed and said "Thank you your majesty." The brothers turned to leave, but were stopped by their king giving them a warning. "I must tell you, this kingdom has 2 guards that are very protective over their land. Be sure not to make yourselves noticeable."
As they walked off Halak responded with "We will." The duo walked down the hill and was greeted by three grunt lionesses. Halak said "I didn't know we were leaving immediately but ok."
The group began to leave in the direction of the Tree of Life unaware of what the next few days would bring upon them.
