Hey Guys. This is a short chapter. Sorry if you wanted a longer one.
I wanted to say thank you for your suggestions. I would try to get to some of them.
Anyways, today were doing Linkin Park.
I know some of you probably do this will these type of stories, but I would play the song when you get to that part. But if you already know the song then don't worry about it.

Chapter 2 - Taking Things Slow
Artist - Linkin Park
Album - A Thousand Suns
Song - The Messenger
The girls didn't really do much after leaving Ozpin's office. Once back in their dorm room they got ready for bed. Omega stated that he would stay offline until the morning. Ruby just puts him on the nightstand by their beds as they each change into their sleep attire.
They somewhat couldn't sleep because of the insanity of the Fall. Just the thought of them losing everything on probably the best day they could imagine, it scares them. Blake couldn't believe how far Adam would go, just to have equality, but nothing has equality if bringing Grimm in one of the Kingdoms means freedom.
She hoped that there was still good in him somewhere, but now she knows. He won't change, he's long gone now. And now she's going to do whatever it takes to protect her new friends.
Weiss was, more or less, terrified at the idea of losing everything. She may not admit out loud, but she views her team like a family she never had. Don't get her wrong she loves her sister very much. But Weiss always saw her sister like a mother figure rather than an actual sister. That's more because Winter took care of her and their brother because their mother and father weren't exactly good parents. Then her sister ends up running away to Atlas.
But now she has a team. And the idea of them dying or getting hurt pains her very much. She doesn't know how she would actually handle something like this. She hopes somehow with Omega here, that they would be able to stop it.
Yang was indifferent about the whole thing. She doesn't know whether to believe the Fall or not, but she fails to protect Blake and then she loses her arm. She never once thought about what would happen if she did somehow lose a limb, never crossed her mind. But it did show her one thing though, she needs to learn to control her anger.
Maybe once she gets that down, she won't have to worry about losing an arm. Or getting herself killed. And maybe it would keep her focusing more on a fight instead of an attack full of rage. She hopes that they could prevent the fall from happening though.
Yang then looks to her sister bunk. She loves her sister very much, so she wouldn't do this only for Blake or Weiss, but to protect her little sister.
Ruby she didn't know how to feel. She literally saw two of her friends die and then her dream of being a huntress getting completely crushed and destroyed. And then for it to be from someone she meant. She never actually talked to Cinder, just that time when she ran into her. The only ones she sees the most are Mercury and Emerald. She just doesn't understand why they would do this. What do they gain from destroying a school and letting Grimm destroy one of the Kingdoms.
Well, she doesn't care, now they know what they are planning they could stop them and save Beacon. It's what being a huntress is right. Killing Grimm and stopping people that want to destroy the world. It's exactly what she wanted , now she could be just like those heroes from those fairytales.
She looks over the edge of her bed to see if anyone is still awake. She lays back down, thinking if she should say anything.
"Hey, are any of you still awake." Ruby asked quietly. She didn't think she would get a quick response.
"Yeah." Yang said.
"I am." Weiss said.
"Can't sleep." Blake said.
"I can't sleep either." Ruby said back.
"Do any of you believe Omega. I just find it hard to think that the school would just get overrun like that." Yang said as she turned over in her bed.
"I don't know, it. It just looked so real." Blake said. She didn't want to think it was real, but they all saw it.
"I don't want to believe it either, but we all saw it whether we want to admit it or not." Weiss said as she moved on her side.
"Ruby?" Yang said as her sister hadn't said anything yet.
Ruby looks over and decides to say something. "I- I don't know. A part of me just wants to think it's just a nightmare, but." She stopped and stayed quiet for a few seconds. "I don't know. I have this gut feeling that it was real. That somewhere this really happened." Ruby said as she hugged herself.
"What? Like this was from an alternative timeline or something." Blake asked as she raised an eyebrow.
"Uh, yeah, I guess." Ruby said, not sure how to answer that. She doesn't know that much about stuff like that but that is probably right.
"I probably would never say this, but I don't want anything to happen to any of you. You guys are like a family I always wanted." Weiss said with a soft smile.
"SO you do have a heart after all, Ice Queen." Yang said with the biggest grin on her face. Blake and Ruby giggles.
"I'm trying to have a moment here and you ruin it." Weiss shouted in a whisper as to not wake others in the rooms around them.
"I'm just messing with you, but yeah, you're like another sister me and Rubes always wanted. Right!?" Yang said as she looked at Ruby.
"Yep, we love you too Weiss. Oh, and you too Blake." Ruby said not wanting to forget their book loving friend.
"To put it bluntly. I see all of you like sisters I always wanted." Blake said as she had a warm smile.
"Aw, stop you making us blush." Ruby said with a smile. "Group hug!?" Ruby said as she jumped down from her bunk. The others rolled their eyes, but still had a smile.
"Group hug." Yang said as she jumped off. "Come on girls." Yang said as she looked at her teammates.
Both Blake and Weiss climb out of their beds and hug the two sisters. Until there was a flash. They stop hugging and turn. To see Omega appearing.
"Aw, now that is just adorable." He said as he showed them the picture.
"Omega!?" They shouted in a whisper. All of their faces were bright red from embarrassment.
"Delete that this instance." Weiss said as she pointed angrily at him. "Wait don't. Can you send it to my scroll." Ruby said with a smile.
"Sure, just put your scroll next to me." Omega said. Ruby grabs her scroll and places it next to him. He did something with his fingers that transferred it to Ruby's scroll. She grabs it and sees that she has it now. "Thanks." Ruby said.
"So, uh, how long were you listening to us?" Yang asked a little nervous. "The whole time, and Weiss I didn't think you would care so much." Omega said.
"Wha- Of course I cared. Why wouldn't I care?" Weiss said as she was offended that he would assume that.
"Sorry, for assuming such a thing, my apologies, Ms. Schnee." He said.
"But I could see how you four would find this hard to believe. So, are there any questions?" Omega asked as he looks over the four girls.
"Did this already happen?" Ruby asked quickly.
"Yes, this happened in another timeline, I'm afraid. I wasn't sent back in time or anything, I was sent to another version of this world." Omega explains.
Now that made them feel horrible for thinking this was some sick joke.
"I didn't show much more, but you four go your separate ways. Weiss you were being taken back to Atlas because of your father. Blake you ran away and went back to Menagerie. Yang, losing your arm made you… more or less depressed at home and eventually you started training with a new arm pretty much." Omega said.
Blake could only cover her face in shame as she runs away from her problems again. Weiss could only close her fist tightly as she looked away. She could think of a few reasons why he wanted her back in Atlas. Yang figured that losing her arm would just bring down her whole world.
"What about me?" Ruby asked.
"You. You ended up leaving to Haven with Jaune, Nora and Ren. The reason was because you guys wanted to see what they knew about Cinder and why she attacked Beacon. But as you know she was never a student to begin with." Omega said.
Ruby didn't know what to think about that. "I- I ran away to try and stop Cinder." Ruby said.
"Didn't someone follow them?" Yang asked.
"Why, yes, your uncle stayed close by and watched over them. They never knew, of course." Omega said.
"Ok, that makes me feel a lot better." Yang said as she let out a sigh of relief. "Did we make it? To Haven I mean." Ruby asked.
"Yes, although there was a surprise there." Omega said. "Cinder." All four of them said. Omega nods his head.
"Ok I guess it made it seem like it was a waste of time of us going to Haven." Ruby said disappointed.
"Well, to make you feel better, Weiss, Blake and Yang were there." Omega said.
"How did I leave Atlas? I'm sure father wouldn't let me." Weiss said.
"With the help of Klein. You went through the hidden tunnels in your home and left that way." Omega said.
"Ok. What is it with you guys running away? I'm starting to see a pattern here." Yang said as she looked over her team. "We have our reasons." Blake said.
They stayed quiet for a bit. Not feeling tired yet. Ruby looked at the time and saw that it read 10:40.
"It's still early. You guys want to listen to music." Ruby asked her team.
"Sure / Why not / It could get our minds off things." Yang. Weiss and Blake said.
"Well if you want I have one in mind." Omega said.
"Sure, what is it called." Ruby said as she looked in the book.
"A Thousand Suns by Linkin Park." Omega said. Ruby looked inside and found it, she pulled it out and looked at it. It showed a white background with what they assume is a sun, but it was black so. The rest of her team saw it.
"What kind of name is Linkin Park." Weiss said.
"These guys aren't going to be depressing or something, are they?" Yang asked.
"No, but some of their songs are very emotional, I could say." Omega said.
"What's the name of the song?" Blake asked as she looked at the back of the album.
"The song is called 'The Messenger' and to me it fits the situation a bit. There is no visual just audio this time." Omega said. With that Omega faded away as words appeared.
"Oh, we could see the lyrics this time." Ruby said.
"I wonder how close it is to what we are going through." Weiss said.
"I guess we will find out." Yang said.
The screen was black for a bit as the first thing they heard was an acoustic guitar being played. The guitar strings continue for a few more seconds before the first verse comes up and Chester started singing.
When you feel you're alone
cut off from this cruel world
Your instincts telling you to run
The girls were surprised when they heard the vocals of the singer. They didn't expect him to have good vocals.
"Ok, Didn't expect that." Weiss said actually stunned. It reminds her of her singing days.
"His voice is amazing." Ruby said excitedly.
"This might not be that bad, after all." Yang said with a smile.
"The lyrics definitely hit right on the head." Blake said.
Chester starts putting in some emotion in his voice as he sang the next part of the verse.
Listen to your heart
those angel voices
They'll sing to you
they'll be your guide
back home.
The girls just smiled as they heard that part.
"That- that actually fits." Ruby said as she smiled softly. It reminds her of her mom. Even though her mother is gone, she could feel she is still there.
"I actually like this." Weiss said, it really makes her want to sing.
When life leaves us blind
Love keeps us kind
It keeps us kind
Chester put more of his vocals out there this time. They begin to hear a piano that starts being played as some electronic sounds were heard a little as well. Chester starts next verse.
They decided to stop talking and just listen to the music, they enjoyed how everything works together.
When you've suffered enough
and your spirit is breaking
You're growing desperate from the fight
Remember you're loved
and you always will be
This melody will bring you right
back home
They were amazed at how well the singer is in control of his voice. He wasn't going too high or too low. And the fact he could sing with such emotion really makes them enjoy this even more.
"Damn. Wish I could sing like that." Yang said.
Ruby turned to Weiss. "Can you sing like that." Ruby asked her white haired partner.
"I used too. It's been awhile since I sang anything, but this is probably one of the best songs I heard in awhile." Weiss said. She is definitely going to practice singing again.
When life leaves us blind
Love keeps us kind
When life leaves us blind
Love keeps us kind
They sing to themselves as they really enjoyed the chorus part of the song.
With the music and the singing, it made it just as powerful to them. He is literally singing with raw emotion.
Ohhh
Ohhh
Ohhhhh
Ohhh (Ohh)
Ohhh (Ohh)
Ohhhhh
The only thing heard was the sound of the piano and the acoustic guitar, the guitar played the last few notes. And then the song ended.
Ruby and Blake had a few tears, but they quickly wiped them away. Weiss and Yang were in the same place, but were able to hold it in much better.
"That was really beautiful." Blake said as she had a small smile.
"This definitely was something I wasn't expecting at all." Weiss said as she really loves songs that brings out everything inside someone.
"I take that you girls enjoy this song." Omega said.
"It was really amazing. Are there more like this?" Ruby asked. She really wants to listen to another one.
"Yes, there are a few." Omega said.
"Before anything, what was the song actually about." Weiss asked. She wanted to know what made them make this song.
"Chester, who is singing here. Made this as a message to his kids." Omega explain.
That made them smile.
"Well he did a good job on that one." Yang said.
"Yeah, anything for your kids, is the best way to help them." Ruby said.
"But some people just see it as a message to never stop having hope or don't give up. Even if the whole world is trying to bring you down or break you." Omega said.
"Yeah it sounds like it could be for his kids or just to help anyone that hears the song." Blake said.
"Can we hear another one." Ruby asked.
"Sure, grab whatever you want." Omega said.
All four got up to pick one. It's still early so maybe a few won't be that bad.
Ok this was fun to do. This song is probably one of my favorites songs from Linkin Park. I know I could of said something of his passing but I didn't want to bring down the mood. Even though that is what I just did, right now.
RIP Chester Bennington, one of the best singers in the world.
I remember when this news first came out. I was out with some friends, when this came up. We were all Linkin Park fans. And man, we didn't know what to do.
Sorry, I won't talk about it. It still hurts though.
But I hope you guys enjoy.
Also I know I could of done something, like maybe a fan video or something. But I kind of wasn't thinking about it until after so, I would try to do something when one of these songs don't have a video.
Onyx out.
