Don checked for a pulse immediately, "his pulse is steady…"
Leo nodded, going into leader mode, trying not to show his overall panic of the current situation. "Right, lets get Mikey home and figure this out."
Raph picked up Mikey's empty shell, leaving Leo to pick up the small figure on the ground. Mikey was only 15...but the human version of him looked so much younger.
Miraculously there weren't an absurd number of foot ninja outside of the building, they were taken out with relative ease- this made the turtles nervous. Like this was planned...something big was at play and they all knew it had Mikey in the center. It made each of them sick to their stomach as they all glanced at Mikey every so often on their way home.
Once they finally got back to the sewers Mikey was shivering- he didn't have any clothes right now after all, which would be a problem that April could help with later.
For now, as they arrived at the lair they brought Mikey straight to Donnie's lab and laid him in a hospital bed, they put two blankets over top of him and finally took a moment to realize his Mikey- like features.
He had blonde shaggy hair, freckles, semi tan- that's when he opened his eyes- and they were all taken aback by how blue they were. Clear blue eyes stared back at them in confusion as Mikey tried to sit up- only to gently be pushed back by his brother's hand.
"Mikey...how do you feel?"
"Uh...fine? What happened?"
"You didn't make it out with the rest of us...you got poisoned by some kind of chemical compound and now...well now you are a human."
Mikey's eyes widened as he brought a hand up from his blankets, he let out a shriek. "W-what the shell?! How?!"
Leo stepped forward, "Calm down...we'll figure this out!"
"We just need to find a sample of the compound and i can make an antidote." Don spoke softly, still mesmerized by Mikey's appearance, he just looked so young.
"For now, we need to inform Master Splinter, maybe he can give a good perspective on this." With that Leo was off, leaving Donnie to get some blood samples and Raph to stand with his arms crossed still staring.
Mike's face blushed, "You can stop staring now! I know I look weird!"
Raph chuckled, "ya look like a normal human if that helps, it's just so..strange."
Master Splinter was in shortly after Leo left, the three brothers left to give them some privacy.
"Michelangelo, how do you feel my son?"
"Really weird...but ok...what am I going to do Master Splinter? I can't just fight alongside my brothers like this! I'm a hunk of flesh! Useless!"
"I am sure your brothers are already figuring out how to counteract this my son...however, I am afraid you will need to stay here for the time being, we can't risk you going into battles without protection or a body that you aren't used to."
Mikey huffed, "Yea I kinda saw that coming...that's ok."
Master Splinter and Mikey talked for a while about continuing training, restrictions and overall feelings. It put Mikey at ease to see Splinter so laid back about all this- his brothers definitely couldn't hide their feelings so well.
April had come later in the day, mesmerized just like everyone else by how young and innocent Mikey looked, she had brought all kinds of clothes she had bought at the local goodwill.
"These should work! I kind of got smalls and mediums...but looking at you now I should have gotten all smalls!"
Mikey gratefully took the bundle of clothes, opting out of his toga like blanket outfit and into some black sport shorts and a plain orange V-neck t shirt.
When Mikey was cleared to leave the lab he found himself testing out his new body, trying to perform flips and stunts.
His brothers painstakingly watched as he fell on his head multiple times, the forming bruises on his skin were evident by the end of the day.
They didn't stop him though, they knew this was one of Mikey's ways of coping with things- especially in this situation.
An aggravated cry was heard as Mikey fell on his face for the fourth time that day, he tried again to do a simple flip but to no avail. He was trying to forget he had a shell- to forget that he didn't have to compensate for extra weight, but it just wasn't working.
He was persistent though- until he finally landed wrong all together. It was of course when his brothers finally decided to leave him be, Don was in his lab, Raph was chilling in his room-sharpening his sais and Leo was meditating when they heard the pained cry.
"Mikey?!" Don was first to arrive at the scene, Mikey had been attempting to do flips against the living room wall all day- this was the result.
Mikey held his ankle that was now pointing in a strange angle, tears were streaming down his face as he rocked back and forth, trying to get a hold of himself.
"Here, let me see." Don carefully took Mikey's ankle and knew immediately that he had fractured it. "Alright...Let's get you to the lab."
Leo and Raph helped Mikey up, amazed at how light he was as they helped him limp to the lab.
As he was laid down in the hospital bed once again Don prepared to realign the ankle and foot, "ok Mikey...on a count of three i'm going to re position your ankle."
Raph and Leo took hold of Mikey's hands, he was already squeezing them extra hard as he closed his eyes tight, "Aright…"
"1...2.." CRACK
Each brother cringed, Mikey let out another yelp but slowly opened his eyes as Don splinted and wrapped the appendage.
Once he was settled Leo crossed his arms, "Mikey…"
Mikey sighed, Leo was in his lecturing pose. "I know. I just got this body and shouldn't push it too far. But you don't understand! How am I going to get to go out with you guys if I can't prove that I can do basic moves?!"
Raph spoke up at that, "Mikey..ya can't come up with us right now regardless, it's too dangerous and I think you know that."
Mikey felt useless in that moment, he truly was going to be trapped down in the sewers until his brothers found an antidote to this crap. That's when it dawned on him- he was human now. This wasn't all bad..he could blend in. Go to stores, finally get to go to a comic book store, to walk into a pizza parlor, go to a skate park!
He kept the realization to himself, he would have to try it out, but with time. He would keep on the down low for now, give them a reason not to worry or be suspicious. He had so much money saved up- all his brothers did! Since they were little they each saved up from money they found lying around or Aprils chore payments, spare change- anything really. Mikey had saved the most at about 150$ and now was his chance!
After the lecture Mikey was helped to his room where he could at least read his comics and lay with Klunk. He was so comforted by the cat's warm body and fur against his arm as the cat snuggled against him.
Maybe this body wasn't so bad after all!
Meanwhile…2 weeks later...
Shredder laughed maniacally, "They will slip up...the moment we get the youngest coordinates, we will strike and kill. They will be in such turmoil they will be easy targets. Stockman you may have messed up...but your little screw up has made this a fun little game."
Stockman gulped as he bowed to the large man sitting on his throne like chair overlooking the city, "t-thank you sir."
Suddenly a ring sounded from Stockman's tracker, it was around 6PM, "I-it appears he has already left the hiding spot of the turtles sir...he looked like he is headed towards...a comic book shop?"
Shredder smirked, "Deploy the troops, I will be going along as well...this will be most entertaining."
Shits about to go downnn~ Leave a comment!
