Chapter 2

It was a very long flight. But luckily, the Kingstons talked, ate snacks provided by the attendants, and had their electronics. Finally the plane landed in Toronto.

"Whew that was quite a flight." said Mrs. Kingston, as they left the plane

"Well we're here now." Mr. Kingston told her.

"You think Nee Nee's here yet?" wondered Tiffany.

"Well I told her what time we were arriving, so she should be." Mr. Kingston told her.

"Hmm, so this is Canada?" Charlotte observed, as she looked around.

So far it wasn't that different than America. Suddenly she remembered her pet, and she looked in his little carrier.

"You okay in there, Pepper?"

Pepper looked at her with his black eyes, and wiggled his nose, which meant he was fine. The family went to the baggage claim, and saw a woman in her late 50s with graying black hair, wearing a yellow shirt, jeans, and brown shoes.

"Nee Nee!" Charlotte and Tiffany squealed, and they hurried over to her.

"Hello girls." Nee Nee said.

And they hugged.

"Hi Mama." Mr. Kingston greeted.

"Hi honey. Hey Miranda."

Nee Nee hugged them both.

"How was the flight?"

"Long." Tiffany replied.

"But relaxing." added Charlotte.

"Well then who's hungry? I know a good restaurant close by."

"That's a good idea, Mama." Mr. Kingston complimented.

After getting their bags from baggage claim, they went out to Nee Nee's station wagon, piled in, and drove off.

They stopped for an early dinner at an Italian restaurant, and they talked about their new lives.

"We'll be living close to your neighborhood, Nee Nee." Tiffany informed.

"I know, it'll be nice to see you girls more often."

"That's a good thing about moving up here." Charlotte mentioned.

They ate their food, Charlotte slipped some pieces of her salad to Pepper.

"So where are you all staying till your furniture gets here?" Nee Nee.

"We're staying at a simple hotel. Tomorrow I meet up with the other producers of Total Drama, and I even get to meet Chris Mclean, the show's host." Mr. Kingston explained.

"Lots of my neighbors grandchildren like that show."

"Are there any differences between Canadian teens and American teens?" Charlotte asked.

"Not really, a teenager's a teenager." Nee Nee assured her.

"Does that go for kids too?" Tiffany questioned.

"Yes, sweetheart. Oh, and that reminds me, I have something for you girls. Little welcome gifts."

Charlotte and Tiffany smiled with excitement. Nee Nee reached into her bag, and pulled out two white boxes, she handed a square one to Tiffany, and a long rectangle box to Charlotte.

"Wow, a bracelet. Thank you, Nee Nee." said Tiffany.

She'd gotten a small bracelet with multicolored round stones. When Charlotte opened her box, she saw a long black chain, and at the end was a blue sapphire stone.

"And I got a necklace."

"Actually it's a talisman." Nee Nee corrected.

"Oh, well I still like it. Thanks, Nee Nee."

"Your welcome, girls."

After dinner Nee Nee went back to her home, and they went to the hotel.

There they got settled in, Charlotte and Tiffany got one room and Mr. and Mrs. Kingston got the other. Charlotte and Tiffany were flicking through the TV channels, until they found a show talking about Total Drama.

"Welcome back Celebrity Manhunt, I'm your hostess, Blainelely."

"And I'm your host, Josh."

"Chris McLean has done it again with another great season of Total Drama, and soon it'll be time for the Gemmy Awards." Blaineley announced.

"Wow, I heard Chris McLean has like three of those things." Tiffany informed her sister.

"Impressive." replied Charlotte.

"The contestants of the show will be staying at the Ze Riche Hotel in downtown Toronto, and will be attending the Gemmy Awards claiming prizes as the best reality show cast." Josh told viewers.

"Gee those guys are really lucky." Charlotte said.

"Girls, tomorrow we're going out. Your father's going to the Ze Riche, and I'm going to pick up the car and check out our new neighborhood. You girls wanna go?" wondered Mrs. Kingston.

"I want to go with you, Mom." Tiffany told her.

"And I'll go with Dad." Charlotte replied.

"Okay then."

Later everyone changed into their jammies, and went to bed.

"Well Pepper we'll see what waits for us tomorrow." Charlotte whispered to her pet.

Pepper just squeaked. Charlotte out him in his little carrier, and then went to sleep.
