Chapter 2: The Fashion Fun Slumber Party

One warm last Saturday of March 2020, I met up with my childhood friends Sarah, James, and Henri at Holiday Inn Express and Suites in Monroeville for a company meeting and lunch. One of my other friends, Carly Shay and her parents, Sam and Freddie, also met us at the hotel. "Hi, guys!" I greeted my friends. "Hi, Angel!" Sarah greeted back. After the meeting was over, we went up to client Alex Bullyun's hotel room to get her slumber party set up. I helped Sarah and Carly make the Pink Pizzazz Popcorn on the stove, while James and Mrs. Shay helped Alex form pizza dough in the shapes of simple dresses, and Henri and Mr. Benson helped Alex bake fashion-themed cookies in the oven. After dinner, we set up the party and before we knew it, it was time for the party. I studied the shout-outs that the Moser-Mifflin clan sent me for work. They were as followed: March 28, 2020

Good luck, Angel!

"Since it is raining outside, my friends and I can just lay on our fuzzy pillows and talk in silly accents while your company explores the world of spring fashions." -Hannah Mifflin

"I have a secret handshake that I can perform with my friends while we make lemonade and sell it in the Renaissance lobby." -Jill Moser

"Truth or Dare." "Truth." "I would much rather curl up in my bed and stay comfy during this stormy day while you go work up a storm (no pun intended)." -Samantha Mifflin

"I took a quiz and found out that I am a rock rebel, and I can learn how to make waffles with my friends tomorrow morning." -Abigail Mifflin

The room was decorated with a roll of basic red fabric used as a red carpet for everyone to walk down, as well as brightly colored and animal print tableclothes on the table, with a playlist of fashion show music in the background, and Alex's very own fashion magazine. Before the party started, both the workers and the clients walked down the red carpet and showed off their most fashionable outfits. We began the party with the Name the Era game, which Henri helped out with. Ella ended up having the most correct guesses in the game, so she won. Then, it was snack time. Henri and Mr. Benson helped serve the Fashion Cookies, James and Mrs. Shay helped serve the Paparazzi Pizza, and Sarah and Carly helped serve the Pink Pizzazz Popcorn. "Are you sure that I can't have a cookie, Mr. Benson?" Henri asked, drooling. "They look and smell so yummy!" "No, Henri," Mr. Benson replied. "Those cookies are for Alex and her friends to eat for dessert." "Bummer," Henri stated. "So, what are your favorite pizza toppings, Mrs. Shay?" James asked. "My favorite is pepperoni and extra cheese. How about you?" "I like pepperoni and sausage, James," Mrs. Shay replied. "Nadia's pizza looks especially yummy!" "I think that you made a good choice to color your Pizzazz Popcorn pink," I stated. "All girls love pink." "Thanks, Angel," Alex remarked. "I think that popcorn is a remotely healthy snack, just as long as you do not add a lot of butter to it," Sarah stated. "Don't you think so, Carly?" "Of course I do, Sarah," Carly replied. "What is a slumber party without popcorn, anyway? After all, it is one of my favorite snacks!" After snacks, we played more games, including the Fashion Pictionary game supervised by James and the Fashion Magazine Scavenger Hunt supervised by Sarah. Alex's team won both Fashion Pictionary and the Fashion Magazine Scavenger Hunt. Then, we moved on to activities, such as creating outfits for Barbie doll models, supervised by Mr. Benson, making handmade jewelry, supervised by Mrs. Shay, and fashion makeovers, supervised by Carly. "Henri, I feel more like a Ken than a Barbie," Mr. Benson pointed out. "Huh," Henri stated. "I feel more like a Ken, too." "I'm glad that you got to help out with Fashion Pictionary and I helped out with the handmade jewelry, James," Mrs. Shay stated. "If I helped with jewelry, it would be hard for me to try, similar to juggling balls in the air my freshman year of high school, so Pictionary was the better choice for me, and I actually have that game at my apartment," James agreed. "Those makeovers were so much fun, Sarah," Carly stated. "I feel like you can do makeovers for any time of the year, like fall and spring. I learned all about all kinds of fall makeovers my freshman year of high school, and I am learning how to do spring makeovers to prepare for my 26th birthday next month." "You have a birthday in the spring, and I have a birthday in the fall," Sarah pointed out. "My birthday is next Friday," I told Sarah and Carly. "Well, happy early birthday!" Sarah wished me. "Thanks," I replied. Around midnight, we all returned back to the Alcoma on the Green Apartments in Penn Hills and headed to bed for the evening. "Thanks for a great day, everyone!" I thanked my friends. "You're welcome, Angel," Sarah replied. "Good night, guys!" "Good night!"
