Receiving Wands

Willa sat there on the bench outside Ollivander's while Oliver was inside with both Miller and Thea while they received their wands.

She hated that she couldn't be in there with her two children, knowing it was something that means everything to parents.

She remembers when she received her first wand, the look on her mother's face as she said it was a moment for families and that was why Remus and Emerson wouldn't be joining them.

But it was her fear that was preventing her from entering the shop and she hated admitting it to herself and knew as soon as they were all home that Oliver would question her.

Willa just hoped that Thea and Miller didn't hate her.

"Willa?"

Willa looked up at the sound of Fred's voice, smiling at him as he headed towards her.

"I thought it was you I saw through the shop's window. What are you doing out here in the heat?" Fred questioned Willa.

"Oliver is inside with Miller and Thea while they receive their wands," Willa explained.

"And why aren't you in there with them?" He questioned, and she merely let out a sigh, her shoulders dropping.

"Ever since Thea's first sign of magic, an explosion that followed her disdain for something I've always fear that she would be like me," Willa spoke.

"I remember that day. Oliver spent all day looking for you, only to find out you took off to go running through the Muggle streets near Grimmauld Place," Fred responded, and Willa let out a laugh.

"I just panicked. I know I always said I would be there for my children should they be like me and I am with Turner, I help and do everything I wish my mother could with me but the idea that my children could potentially be like me, that there was no end to the uncontrolled explosions in our family line. It bloody well scared me," Willa confessed, and Fred nodded.

"I may not understand what it's like being a parent and the fears you could have for them and their future but Merlin, do I love Haiden and Roxie as if they were my own. All the children in our family. I wonder where Haiden will get sorted come September first, I wonder what they both wish to do with their lives once they graduate from Hogwarts. It means everything to Verity and me that we get to babysit for you all on occasion." Fred spoke as he looked towards the shop, he called home.

After the accident during the Battle of Hogwarts, Fred was unable to have children and as such him and Verity didn't, deciding that maybe it was meant to be for them and instead they both put their focus on the shop with the help of George and Ron, especially now that they had multiple locations to run.

Willa didn't say anything as she knew she was partly to blame as to why Fred and Verity were unable to have children, but she knew voicing her guilt would just cause another issue with Fred.

"I was afraid to enter and hear Ollivander voice the words I've been dreading, state what I fear to be true regarding Thea," Willa confessed.

"Thea has had one explosion, you had several by the time you were eleven much like with Turner. I believe the repercussions of a Dreamer existing will end with you and Turner," Fred offered up, softly patting Willa's hand.

"Merlin, I hope so," Willa confessed as she looked over her shoulder to see where her husband and children were standing.

"Why don't you go inside and be there with your family. You always wished you could have had both parents standing with you, you were robbed of that moment. Don't do this to your children, don't let them feel robbed of a moment they should experience with both their parents," Fred spoke, urging Willa to stand and enter the shop.

Willa continued to sit there for a moment before she ultimately stood and entered the shop. Fred was right, she would hate herself if she wasn't there watching as both Miller and Thea received their wands.
